  2. You won't need a waiver!!!

Thanks KK, I'm just so worried about that one incident that I had :(

I have been doing a lot of research and it does seem like the old BCC like the one I got cancelled were not visas. Ziggy also told me that per my description on how they took it from me- and the fact that they issued 2 visas for me just a month after- I shouldn't have any problem, since it doesn't seem to be a case of misrepresentation and a waiver wouldn't be needed. But I'm still really worried, specially since from what I've heard I TOTALLY agree with Heina's comment:

...beware of the Consulate! They are STUPID and they're not afraid to show it.

And BTW Heina, I can't believe your story  I really admire you and Allie, I know I would be out of my mind if I had experienced what you did.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Consulate decided to close that whole time between Christmas and New Years, or do what they did the day after Thanksgiving and make it an "admin" day, which means they're in there, but you're not!

Thanks Heina, we did think they may do that. But we were also thinking that since it's 4 full days left in that week, it would be kind of hard for them to close the entire time, I hope!

LOL oh the joys of Mexican men

 What can I say, I thought I was 'saving" myself from that, but my fiance is just as stubborn and as procrastinator as the mexican men I know, and he is mas gringo que las hamburgesas :D

I agree KK, you have been a tremendous help to all of us going through this process.

I couldn't agree more with you girls  KK is great!! :luv:

Lucy, my hopes and prayers are going to you and your fiance

  3. Big congrats Emma - you are on your way and one big step closer - YAY! When do you think you'll go to your interview?

BTW, my fiance said he received his packet in the mail in Mexico a few days ago (after his interview). I thought that was pretty impressive considering the mail system in DF and the fact that he regularly does not receive his Tel Mex bill!

    Congradulations Emma!

And thank you all for the prayers! I would truely be lost right now without VJ! (L)

Thank you girls! I still don't know when I'll be going to CDJ, we weren't really expecting the packet until the end of this month so it really took us off guard

We are thinking we might keep our original plan and go during the week after Christmas - CDJ is only closed on Dec. 25th and Jan. 1st, right? My fiance is changing jobs pretty soon so he won't be able to go CDJ with me until that week, and I really want him to be there, even if he can't get into the consulate with me. But on the other hand I'm kind of worried about getting a waiver, so going to CDJ as soon as possible would be the best option to avoid waiting even longer.

We are already working on getting all the evidence together and filling the forms out, so I'll be ready for the interview in a week or two in case we decide that I should go early in December, even if it is by myself :(

  4. My sister's fiance was shot to death and we're all taking it very hard. Please pray for my sister! I know she is going to need it! Thank you!

Waiting, we're thinking about and praying for you and your family. (F)

Waiting, I'm so sorry...I missed KK's posting when I wrote my last one. I'll keep your sister in my prayers too (F)

  5. OMG!!!! Amigas, after 8 months and 1 day: We finally got the packet from CDJ!!!!!!

My fiance sent an e-mail on Tuesday to CDJ asking if they had received the file from the NVC, and they replied yesterday saying that the processing was finalized and that we should receive the packet soon, and to our surprise we got it today in the mail!!:dance::dance::dance:

I wasn't expecting it until the end of November!!! I am shocked!!!

My fiance and I are going on a weekend trip to Penn State, and we're going to be able to give the good news to his family there!

And here's the updated list :)

  6. You can try using the local newspapers for the housing and the job information, the "avisos de ocasion/clasificados" section usually covers these two areas. Your fiance can scan a copy of the Sunday's section for you to include. You can also try looking up on the internet, some newspapers have websites too. I found these sites that might help you:

    http://www.computrabajo.com.mx/

    http://www.diariodeguerrero.com.mx/CGI-BIN...show_avicla.php

You can also try using the statistics/figures from the government website : www.guerrero.gob.mx

    Hope this helps....

  7. It all depends on Consulate or Emabssy, they all receive and end P3 at different rates.

Perhaps looking at the timelines, K-1 advanced view and filter for your country, you can see how long others have waited.

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

That's true, the Cd. Juarez consulate is taking approx. 4 weeks to process our files before they send the package so we can go to our interview- no appointment needed :) I think they do some more background checks on the beneficiary.

  8. Wow KK, then there's still a chance!!!

Did he tell you at what point the overstay situation was brought up? Did they have it on record or did he tell them up front?

I've heard about the pictures too, can you ask him where he had them taken? I'm thinking I'll just wait and have them taken once I'm in Juarez after the medical is done, so I'm sure I get the right ones....

I'm still crossing my fingers for you two!!!!

  9. Ecalos,

    1) A tax return is not complete without a W-2 when there is income from employment other than self-employment. It is not an 'either-or' issue.

    2) Ask the consulate - some ask for 1 year, others ask for 3 years.

    3) Originals are with the IRS, your options are a photocopy or an IRS-provided tax transcript.

    Yodrak

Can anyone help me understand what the Tax transcripts are?

My fiance tells me he has the Tax Returns and the W2's, but he doesn't know what the tax transcripts are either, is this something you get when you are self-employed?

  10. In our case, my "second" last name was misspelled on the letter we received, but when I called them the file had already been sent to CDJ. The lady who answered told me that they had checked the correct last name- she read it out for me and it was OK- but just had written it incorrectly on the letter. She also told me that the consulate takes the name on the passport and on the application to process the visa anyway so that we should be OK for the interview and the approval of the visa.

  11. Wow Mike this is great!!! you're moving on

Our file didn't take too long to get to the NVC, they received it only 7 days after our NOA2 and sent it out the next day to CDJ. But I've been reading a lot of horror stories of people being stuck at the NVC for several weeks, and others being stuck at CSC's mailroom

BUT I think you are part of the exclusive club that has already filled up the waiting time quota so maybe we're getting expedite treatment now :P

Also, I think the NVC only has the one location you mentioned..

Good luck and keep us posted on how you guys do at the interview!

  12. the latest paychecks that he has from his current job, the bank letters, a recent house valuation from earlier this year, AND his tax information from the last 2 years, do you think this is a good idea?

Emma - I would take all of the above and not mention the new job - it's not really relevant since you are providing the paycheck stubs and prior year tax returns.

E & K - you should be fine with that. Might want to bring bank statements as well. Bring original paycheck stub.

Thank you girls! that's what we'll do. Allie, thanks for the idea, I wasn't planning on bringing the bank statements, just the letters, but I think you're right and I'll bring them too.

    KK, any news!!!
