There is nothing a petitioner can do to prevent a beneficiary who is intent on apllying for benefits or suing the affidavit of support signer.
That is correct , however what i can do is be financially responsible for my wife , even if the marriage failed in the future . Its all a matter if integrity and there are many things to consider if one was to choose to co/joint sponsor
-
I think it depends on the persons you are sponsoring and how much trust and faith you have that that person will take care of themselves and their family , along with their ability to do so. We have a joint sponsor but in no way will I ( petitioner) will I allow her to become responsible for us. My wife and I may not have needed a joint sponsor but we did not want to take a chance since I was not very high above the requirements. I hope this helps

Thanks
I saw someone on their timeline say case complete five days after scan date , seems unlikely but who knows , i will just keep checking
-
I just checked the status of my wife and daughters AOS and IV visa , the page says AOS fees paid , IV fees paid , and IV application complete. Then it says affidavit of support documents and financial evidence N/A and civil documents N/A . Why would those say N/A? Kinda confused is that normal? Thanks in advance

The physical abuse has only been once. She has evidence of that, but I feel like it just isn't enough. he's more of the emotional abuse and manipulation. Does this count??
Abuse and only do not belong in the same sentence my friend , i pray that this will work out for her and her baby

Hi, and welcome
I think we have all been where you are now . My wife and i decided against wasting money on lawyers and are in our final stages now. It seems like a long time to be together but i actually think it is going faster without a lawyer . Everything you need to know can be found here , there are some very good resources here and a lot of great people to give great advice . Good luck with your first meeting in person . There are no words for the first time you see her in person
-
Have the two of you met in person yet?

One thing i have done is bought rossetta stone to learn my wifes language ( tagalog ) I am not very good yet but i keep trying. It definately helps our relationship because she has to laff when i try to speak tagalog . i guess i figure with all she has to learn , i should be doing my part to learn her culture as well
-
That makes two of us
Good luck on your immigration process!
Same to you !!! Looks like you are about a month ahead of us

I soooo hope everything goes without a problem , if anything I may have sent too much to NVC . We should be able to pass the financial but as a precaution we have a good joint sponsor . New house , new wife , new daughter . We can not wait for our first Christmas as a family !!!!!!!!

Here is a helpful guide.
LOL yes i used that but i was in too much of a hurry

Today i called NVC and got our case number and IIN , that was good . I came home and went to the place where we enter the DS-261. I entered all the info then printed the confirmation number as instructed ,again i thought this was good. Then as i was reading the next steps i see that it says (nvc process ) it is currently taking a week for form to be available. Did i goof ? i figure if it gave me a confirmation number and barcode i should be ok right? any insight would be very helpful
thx in advance

So as it stands, Potomac is processing middle of march now?...I hope so..
My PD is 4/18/2016 for i130 ...on may 5 I filed i129f, was told today that it will be another 4 Mo for i129f which is weird to me...I'm almost 60 days in for my the i 130 which they claim takes 6mo to process...can anyone shed some light on my situation??
Please and thank you...Missing my husband like crazy lol
I filed two separate I-130s first one in February the other in March. Both went to different processing centers and both were right at three months for approval . Second was Potamac put in march 16
