This thread may be helpful, it seems you should have received a separate letter for your stepdaughter which may have been somewhat unofficial looking. You may want to contact USCIS, of go to the local office with an Infopass or whatever they offer now.
Good Luck!
Thanks for the reply , We will call this afternoon to try to find out what is going on with daughters extension letter, we did not receive any letter for her whatsoever. At least USCIS didnt have a problem cashing the check lol.

I'm a bit concerned , I filed the removal of conditions form for my wife and daughter back in November , My wife got an extension letter but it makes no mention of our daughter. I did pay all the fees and added the appropriate fees for our daughter just as the form requires , am i missing something or does this sound normal?
-
I sent both , the last thing you want is an RFE to slow things down and add to the already loooonnng waiting process
-
We did ours two weeks before the interview , sorry i don't know how long the results would be valid , and the embassy scheduled our appointment, we could only reschedule if we wanted a later date . Wish i could be more help , best of luck on your journey

I think she will need her interview letter to take to her medical, that is how it was for us anyhow

Congrats!!! ? ? Did they ask lots of questions?
Not really alot of questions , she said she got a really nice officer . Just the basics how did you meet , do you know his family etc. in and out in two hours , amazing

So my wife just got out of the interview , in less than two hours she called me, saying she was missing a document!!!! My heart sunk instantly she says " just kidding " we passed and will have our passports and visas back within three days . So I'm thinking when she gets to her P.O.E. i might just wait for her to call and say i thought she was flying in next week

After hearing this news yesterday I had/have concerns that i will be following closely. I talked to my wife last night and she thinks this wont affect us at all, I hope she is right. My main concern is for our family back in PH. I believe Duterte is doing what he feels is best , I hope he is right but seriously have my doubts, seems to me he is getting in way over his head and taking PH with him. I truely hope i am not correct

interview date november 28th , doing the happy dance !!!!!!!!!!!

Yours will continue to show "At NVC" because you don't have an interview date assigned and your case is still with NVC.
Whenever you get your date assigned a few weeks before your interview the status will change to "in transit" then when the embassy receives it, it will change to "Ready". When the embassy receives it thats when you will be able to see the dates I was speaking about.
Oh thank you
-
Yes that is where you would look. Whenever someone access your case the date will reflect there.
Right now there should be two dates. First date (doesn't change) is when your case number was assigned at NVC.
The second date is the one that will change when someone access your case.
I must be looking in the wrong place , i see no dates at all . only says case at NVC . case was completed and waiting for interview date , so maybe it shows dates then?

Hi everyone
My wife and i are talking about potential interview questions and the subject of our daughters interview process. Our daughter is ten years old and my wife is a little worried about what they might ask and how our daughter might respond . My advise is to just relax and answer everything honestly . Our daughter wants to come here to live but has never lived anywhere other than with her family abroad so naturally she is a bit nervous , this is a big change for her . Thanks in advance for your opinions

If you are confused you can ask questions here. That is what we are here for.
To summarize, in order to adopt...
- The child would have to be an orphaned or abandoned with no form of support.
- The adoption process must be COMPLETED PRIOR to the child turns 16 years of age.
- The adopting parents must live with the child in his/her country for a period of two years.
Those are the main issues and even if you satisfy those you would still have to go through the immigration hurdle. What exactly are you confused on? Maybe we can clear it up.
Got it now found what you are explaining on state dept. web site , So basically we spend two years in PH after adoption then I-130 process . I will love it but need to talk to Mrs. Tyler about this
-
I don't think it will be easy at all . We will be doing more research , we dont need easy just possible . after having read that thread in Jojos link i am even more confused . thanks for the replies

My wife has been taking care of her niece for years , she and I have spoken about adopting her in the philippines. I am not sure if we would/could follow the same immigration process as we did for my wife and daughter. I am also not sure of any complications that may arise . My daughter and her cousin( my wifes niece ) have grown up since they were babies so my daughter is really having a difficult time with leaving her behind. Any insight to this type of situation would be greatly appreciated .
-
Well this entire process is about patience. Atleast you don't have to wait 3 mths like I did and some Countries have to wait 5 or 6 mths.
I don't want to sound ungrateful , i am thrilled we have made it this far in as short a time as we have . We have had very few setbacks , just like everyone else so tired of the waiting with nothing to do to help things along
-
Thanks. I thought nvc was the quicker part of the process lol guess i was wrong
-
Ok so i called NVC to ask how long after case complete before we get an interview date. The guy says usually takes 60 days to get a date then 4 weeks to interview . That doesnt sound right at all. Any insight to this?

Waiting patiently for interview date case complete on 28th sept come on nvc!!!!
