  1. I have been reading all these entries and can't help but wonder if all this calling may be not good. I would think if someone keeps calling and I know they are calling every few days I might not be so quick to address your packet. Might even put it on the slower pile. I'm sure that calling at this point is not going to make it faster and probably taking people off working on files. I think updating each other on status from looking online or getting approvals is great but do you really think calling them so much is helpful? Anybody else have thoughts on if it is helping or hurting ?

Ive heard from attorneys I know that calling helps because a lot of times they allow the files to sit there and do not even acknowledge them. It's better to call than not call at all and keep waiting and waiting while not being updated by them not even two every 3 months or even once a month.

  2. I send my I-130 on 02-26-2016 for my husband,hi is Dominican Republic, I'm citizen of the unite estate. My case is in Potomac service center, I received I-797c notice of action. How long I have to wait for the approval? How long Potomac take to send it ??

It can take a long time. If you are lucky then you may hear something within 5 months...but if not like myself then do not expect anything even after 5 months. My case is 10/2 and I have not received an approval. I can expect to wait 6-8 months to get a "approval" or "denial" notice. But there are some who have received approvals within 5 months.

  3.    :cry:I got an update but it says the same thing as the December 2, 2015 update the only thing that changed was the date to March 13, 2016. I have my 5 months tomorrow. My pd is 10/16 and transfer date was 11/9 :cry::cry: I haven't had a goodnight sleep in months and this whole process is stressing me out. I just want to be with my love again. The worst part of it all is that i have no idea what it all means. My file was already at a local office...does that mean they found something wrong with my application or what? i dont understand anything. I'm so stressed out...why couldn't this just go by normally. All i hear is people getting approved :cry: it breaks my heart that they are doing this to me. We were transferred to Potomac for faster processing but this is taking longer than i have intended...

yup that's the same update my sister got on her case. It is frustrating. Our PD is 10/09 and transfer is 11/09

  4. what kind of photo were they asking for ..?

My marriage certificate has my photo and husbands (back home they attach photos to it) they Photoshop the pictures too much. So, I think that's the reason they wanted a picture to compare to my passport one...since passport pic compared to marriage certificate pic is different. Or else I do not know why they wanted just picture and nothing else as of yet.

  5. can someone help me please I have called for the past like 2 months and when I do that trick 87716 when they anwser the phone

do they say say i am the tier 2 officer or should I ask for one they only state there name

Always ask for a tier 2 officer and make sure you put in inquires even if one is not needed. They take forever to get back anyways so keep on inquiring after it. Also get in touch with state rep office for them to help you and contact the immigrations. They always get back to the rep office asap.

  6. really I knew I shouldnt believe what they say uhhh just another headache

Yup yup...I believe absolutely nothing...see my status and my sisters changed once I made an appointment to go to the office...I think you should make an info pass and go talk to the immigration people...maybe that will flag it..so they can look at your folder. It's so frustrating...it seems you and I and my sister...hahahah are the only ones waiting for an approval...

  7. They finally and for the second time just updated the site and for my sisters case it states On March 13, 2016, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number ***********, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address...what I do not get is why they updated it again when before it stated on December 2.....and same #######!!!!.....Also...what they mean by local office...do they mean state/city office we live in or the Field office aka Potomac Service Center...since it was sent there on Nov 9th!!
