  1. There is no excuse not to send approved petitions to NVC when finished. My buddy who is not at VJ, was approved at VSC in August (2nd-3d week), and left NVC Sept. 7th. Just think how many people are not even with VJ and it really paints a poor service picture for CSC. Even after our petition leaves NVC, we are still looking at a 165 day wait for interview at Guangzhou. What a complete waste of time to our lives and familys. We can fix a problem with the space shuttle in a couple of days, but CSC can't even find the mail box, how sad.

  2. Just curious. Does NVC enter and update the case # of K1 approved petitions Monday-Friday in it's computer system? The question really means if a person were to call on any given day, could they hope to get an answer (by phone). Or does NVC only update once or twice a week, so only on a given day each week would you have a chance to get an answer (by phone).

  3. Just called NVC and spoke to a person. My case does not appear in their system yet. The guy said that it can take 60-90 days to appear in their system!! That is strange! Does that mean the case might be there but not entered in their system for 30-60 days? Any comments?

Our NOA2's are the same, and I got the same answer. I think it is a standard response (at least I hope so).

  4. What document do you think is missing. Maybe it is something that is really not needed. If tou tell us what you think is missing, we can offer some better advice if it is really needed with the I-129F.

Either way, I would wait for the RFE if you do get it. But then you will also know if they (USCIS) also are asking for something different, specific, original, more, less, other, etc...

  5. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. I have printed this post out and mailed it for my fiance to read. We both thank you and wish everyone else fast success in their journey too.

While this is only the first step and safe to say one hindered with no real information updates and IMBRA delays, it is over.

At least NVC is more forthcoming with information and it is available for the most part if we ask.

China is quite slow compared most other countries, so we are only half way there. Safe bet would be another 5 months once we leave NVC to interview, but we will take it.

I have made some good friends here, learned alot, and I hope I have been able to help others with information I have given, and will continue to do so.

This is what VJ is all about. I really don't think other people understand all we go through. Sure they say the understand us, but we all know that unless they are going through what we are going through, they don't, they can't.

So VJ is stuck with me/us for quite awhile still, and then afterwards too. :P

  6. I am sending my fiance "American" 8.5 x 11 inch paper so that she can print on that, rather than A4 used elsewhere in the world. I don't know if this really matters. Any clues from anyone else?

    Tom

I used 8.5 x 11 inch paper - I guess it matters inasmuch as they have to file the forms and A4 paper wouldn't be as good - the margins would get out of the file.

does 8.5 X 11 inch paper mean "letter"?

That is the USA standard letter size. Remember that in the other countries they would have to reset the printer to accept our 8 1/2 x 11 paper depending upon the printer used.

The consulate we are at does not seem to mind the 8 1/2 x 11 paper, but the medical facility that assembles the packet for the interview will not accept it. They insist it be A4 and hand written. The Guangzhao consulate is now instructing the medical examination officers to allow computer generated printed forms and USA size, but who knows if on the day you arrive it will be allowed. If in doubt, do both and also bring blank forms too in case it needs to be redone.

I would suggest reading on your site specific forum of consulate interviews and pose the question there. Each consulate seems to have it's own particulars and it does change from time to time. Possibly you can email your consulate and ask a specific question to get a specific answer. The more accurate wording of your question, the better chance for a correct answer when it comes to consulate emails. JMHO.

  7. When typing or handwriting the dates, be sure to supply in the format asked for.

    Ex: mm/dd/year= 09/02/2006.

While 99% of us know that 2=02, you would hate to get an RFE for not adding the zero in front of the 2. Be as accurate and as consistant as possible. The date could be used for a security check for a birth date, and if entered wrong, they would have to do it over. Don't leave things to chance.
