  1. I used a One Way ticket for my wife traveling from Cebu, Philippines to New Jersey, USA. We didn't have any problems and everyone was nice to us.

We used the Airline Cathay Pacific. I was going to buy a round trip since it was like $500 cheaper. But however, then I noticed

that the airline claims it will charge money for people who purchase a round trip to only use it for a one way

So my advice is to first check the airlines rules before purchasing either one.

  2. Wow this post has received so many negative feedback. I mean I do agree that the OP does seem quite fishy.

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't offer her/him advice.

Like stated before, the best thing to probably do is wait till the guy is calmed down and ask him to withdraw the petition.

Otherwise if the OP has any evidence that the petitioner did cheat, then they should start gathering it. This way when

the next time an American wants to petition them, they can say why the other K-1 visa petition was left to expire.

  3. My wife is from the Philippines and has joined a Facebook Filipino group. Ever since that she has gained so many Filipino friends from that group. And lots of them are pregnant like she currently is right now.  So, some are bragging to others that they're getting free food for their baby by simply just signing up for WIC. Also they're encouraging all other pregnant Filipino's to sign up for it.

When my wife brought this to my attention, I immediately told my wife that WIC is for poor people.

The point of this post is to ask you guys for your feedback on this. Are those people doing the wrong thing? Am I correct about what I said? Should we sign up for it?

In the area where I live, we have a very large population of Puerto Rican's and Dominicans. Like 60% of them are on WIC. Now I am not saying they don't deserve it, but I can clearly see that they're more so listed in the "poor" category. They drive old cars from like 1990's to early 2000's and can't afford to travel places. So this is why I am strongly assuming that WIC is for people like that which would classify as poor. Not someone who can travel overseas and then sponsor a person to their country for marriage.

  4. Thank you for your reply.

I will change her SSN once we have EAD. ;)

The only thing we share at this moment is my credit card. I was given an American Express card and they suggested I add her to my account.

So they sent me a card for her and said she will earn a credit score from it. She has been an authorize user for 4 months.  Last week she got a letter in the mail from another credit card company saying she is pre-approved for a capital one. So I guess she really is earning credit from it.

  5. I honestly though that you must file some kind of paper work to have your spouses name changed??

Well apparently other Filipina's who married foreigners are telling my wife that her name is automatically changed.

And that all we need to do is go to the Social security office with valid proof of marriage.

Is this information true?  And by name change, I mean the last name of course.

My wife doesn't have green card yet and we haven't yet filed because I wanted to wait for my

new W-2 which shows a larger income amount than last years.

  6. One reason why I want to get a lawyer is I don't have much time to process it and I live in Tennessee. I don't want to make mistakes that can cause us problems in the future. It is my first time to process a visa and I am not familiar with it. I just want to be sure that everything is correct.

Eh, that's kind of lame to say that.

I did a K-1 Visa for my Fiancee and it was my first time in everything.

I never considered a lawyer because it's quite useless to have someone do

very simple paper work for you. All you really need to do is just read online about

how to gather the required papers. Then just follow guides to complete the paper work.

By the way, I was 22 years old at the time of filing for a K-1 Visa for my Fiancee who is now my wife.

  7. That's great you have passed both, medical and interview.

However, how long does it take to get the Visa in hands after passing it?

Also, don't forget the CFO, I am not sure if you have done that yet.

  8. My Fiancee is in the process of setting up her Medical and interview. (Manila, Philippines)

However, I have heard about how other people would attend the interview with their fiance(e). By doing that, it shows a much more stronger relationship and that it's more likely to be real.

Now the thing is, I'm confused on what I would do about for her flight. Because she can't leave the Philippines until the K-1 Fiance(e) Visa is issued.

I would have to buy a round trip flight for myself which means I must know the return date. However, I want to be on the same Airplane with her while I go back to the USA.

So far, the guessed interview date is September 1st. (We didn't yet select a date because she just paid the fee and it's after 3pm)

  9. What really raises a red flag for me is that she had the ability to text him when she was supposedly held by immigration, for a couple of reasons First her phone wouldn't automatically work here in the USA without getting a SIM from a company here

Could of been by Messenger, Skype, Google Hangouts, or Viber. I'm pretty sure that the Airport gives free Wi-Fi so therefore she could have just signed onto it.

Now the thing I wondering about is. Why did the OP go home directly? Maybe she was joking to surprise him? Or maybe immigration did really refuse her?

  10. I just want to make sure that I completely understand what I am even doing.

So far my I-129F was approved on June 25th. I read online to start calling NVC after two weeks of your NOA2 letter.

What I have done so far was called the NVC asking for my MNL number. They told me to try again next week (July 20th)

Here is everything I plan to do once I get the MNL number:

*Copy of my G325A (I will not send I-129F copy)

*1.3X1.3 Picture of myself (Two copies)

    *Copy of my passport

*Photo's of my Fiancee and me together (About 30 picutures)

    *Proof of our relationship

    *Proof of employment

    *Copy of my Birth certificate

    *One of my W-2's

    *Fill out the I-864 form

    *Copy of my RFE reply

*Copy of my whole year pay subs (My job is currently my first job)

*Copy of my Bank accounts last six months

*Receipts with my name on from when I was in person with her

*Copy of my flight ticket to visit her

All those papers will be sent to my Fiancee in the Philippines once I get MNL number. Am I doing everything correctly? From my understanding, I will just mail her those papers and she will do the rest. She will pay medical fee and the second K-1 Visa fee. So far I have only paid the first fee which was made out to USCIS.
