  1. My EAD still hasn't been touched since 11/30/06, despite the fact that I have my interview letter for Feb 26. I'm wondering if it's 'cos of my RFE. But then, why do I have my interview letter already? Does the EAD get approved by the local office or MSC? suggestions, anyone?

Our EAD was just touched yesterday (it hadn't been touched since 11/21/06) and our NOA1 date was Nov 12, so hang in there it seems like they're finally getting around to us. EAD's are approved in MSC. If it's been 90 days and you haven't received your EAD or an approval, phone and ask for an interim EAD.

  2. Ok... So i got my advanced parole stuff ready to send out... got to the post box, put it in, and then my lovely husband pointed out that I didn't put a stamp on it..... How stupid am I?????

Soooo, does anyone know if USPS will just bin it? Or send it to USCIS and expect them to pay postage? I also didn't put a return address on it... I feel so stupid right now!

Thanks for your help in advance...

    Maria

I've done the same thing but with a bill and what the post office did was open the envelope and get my address and they sent it back to me. It took a while to get it back and I was quite surprised when it arrived. Fantastic news about getting an interview date!

  3. Ok my man got a great job with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia(through a family friend), he likes the job the problem-his EAD will expire in 30 days.

I know this is a HUGE longshot but.....................would there maybe be a way that we could ask for his EAD tyo be expidited? I know people are going to laugh at me-but this is a really good opportunity for him & I hate to see him lose this job. The Church said they are willing to write letters on his behalf-what do you guys think?

please don't yell at me

My man had a great job too! There's nothing fair or reasonable about this process. Hope that your EAD comes through quickly, some do.

  4. My wife had her biometrics appointment the first week of December. It was easy, in and out. But now nothing. I had a computer virus so all of the pages I saved are gone and I am not finding the area here at VJ to figure out how long it takes for a K1 visa holder living in North Carolina to get an AOS interview. Can anyone point me in the right direrction? We are worried about the AOS process because at the time we had to file both I and Anh's co-sponsor were not working because of moving from CT to NC. So that is something we want to update, but all we ever find in research is that there is no way to do that. I and Anh's co-sponsor are now working and it seems ridiculous that we cannot just update our case with that information.

The other issue, one that is really having us at the point of insanity, is my wife's inability to legally work. This is just insane and the person(s) I have spoken with in the government tell me that we cannot expect approval for that until after AOS. Anh has been here since July of last year and so that is six months of not being allowed to do anything. It's just sheer lunacy.

I have found this entire process to be infuriating, as some of you know. Is there any hope out there?

I know this is too late, but she should have been able to get a EAD stamp at JFK, which would have allowed her to work for 90 days. Although she could only start working after getting her social security card. There's a lot of us in this boat waiting for an EAD. My husband had to quit his job because his 90 days ran out and the EAD card hadn't come yet. No touches on our AOS or EAD since Nov. 21 and still waiting........

  5. I called USCIS today regarding my EAD since it has been over 90 days, the girl I spoke to was also very nice and said that she would send an inquiry on my behalf to MSC, she took all the details like name, address, receipt number, phone number etc. She also gave me a reference number of the inquiry she sent and said that i should hear within 45 days (i know its ridiculous for an EAD that has already been waiting for 90+ days).

She then spoke to one of her managers to check if I could get an interim EAD. They said it depends on the local office if they are still issuing them because most are not. She checked Charlotte, NC and it was bad news. But she was so nice she went back to her manager and explained that I really needed my EAD as I have a job waiting on me so the manager advised me to go ahead and schedule an infopass appointment and explain to them my problem and if they don't issue me an interim EAD they will definitely push Missouri to either approve the EAD asap or send an interim one (according to them, Missouri now issues interim EADs)...so thats the next step for me.

Hence any of you who have reached the 90 day deadline for EAD, do NOT wait and call the USCIS and pester them...it might work.

Thanks for sharing that information! We've been wondering if they were still giving any interim EADs, nice to know it's a possibility.

  6. devilette, great idea starting this!

I was bored and went on Google Spreadsheets and typed up the info (and added mine in). Here it is published on the web:

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pNF...UYpWkevoMhK8kZw

If you like the look, I can add you as owner of the spreadsheet so you can edit it and add more members info in as they come. If not, oh well, it helped to pass the time! I'm sitting at home twiddling my thumbs with not much to do. And I just found out today that I can't get my driver's license renewed til my AOS gets approved

Very nice! But (luckily) I got transferred to CSC late yesterday!

    Good luck to you guys.

    Congragulations Devilette!
