  1. Ah, but I did offer my congrats after all. Albeit late in the game.

Just understand that the "First" Post-IMBRA approval was the critical milestone, to our understanding of this process out of CSC. Coming from a newbie raised "eyebrows". Certainly, a logical thought process.

From this point forward, you will not see this sort of "newbie bashing". It was all about the "First"

Post- IMBRA approval. I hope you and others do understand now. Cheers.

Yes I am lucky that I just missed IMBRA but I read about it everyday and I know several people who are going through it and I feel your pain... but don't let your frustrations have such a negative effect, especially when others in your situation have good news that SHOULD give you hope.

I am truly sad that you cannot be happy for this person, especially because it is great news for other IMBRA victims.

I hope that when you get your NOA2 that no one will treat you the way that you have treated this person. It makes no difference whether they are a newbie or not... think about it.

    Good luck to you!

William 33, Don't you feel like BOZO now. you called this guy a bozo without even knowing the fact. You are a jealous @#$%$#! No wonder CSC has by passed your application. Get a grip!!!!

  2. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Awal's father got sick soon after he arrived here, and has been in and out of hospital for surgery. They told him he was doing better and walking around, but now it's taken a turn for the worse again, and he's back in the hospital for some reason.

No one will tell Awal what's going on as to not worry him. I feel really helpless right now- I don't know what to do except comfort him, but I can't say "oh, it will be alright" because I really don't know- no one has even told him exactly what he's sick with.

As far as I know there's no way for him to go home right now without endangering his chances of ever coming back to the US again. We can send money and occasionally call when someone-who-knows-someone-with-a-phone happens to be able to go to his house.... but I really don't know what to do. Of course Awal keeps telling me not to worry myself, but I see him thinking about it all the time. I'm really feeling confused right now. Why did this have to happen just when he arrived? Has anyone else had a similar situation? Any support or guidance on what I can do to help?

    Hi,

I'm so sorry for this situation, i can sadly tell you that i am in the same situation as you. I;ve been here for in USA for a long time and decided to go home this past january. I spent 2 weeks and only to be told in may that my mother got realy sick due to her weight. It rocked my world like a volcano. She is getting better, according to my family back home. But her mobility is still restricted. Tell Awal that in a situation like this, he needs to man-up and be prayerful. This is a real test of manhood and faith. I hope everything goes well with his dad. As for me, i plan to go home in December or January and i know that my faith in the living God will not fail me. My mother will get back to her normal self. Life is not always a bed of roses. And as Dr. martin Luther King said " It doesn't matter what happens to us in life, it is how we handle the situation and our faith in God that matters ". Good luck and God bless !!

  3. California comes last in almost everything in nation. Even those bastards on death row gets to reach retirement age when they are in California. It usually takes california a lifetime to catch with the other 49 states. Shwazzenneger is their governor, go figure. Don't mess with Texas !!!

  4. It's been seven months and two days since Stephen arrived in the U.S. on the K-3 visa and FINALLY America has greeted him with a "You're welcome". If we were playing by Nigerian rules, it would definitely be worthy of a slap for America---not welcoming my husband sooner.

We had our AOS interview last week on July 12th and the interview went well, although it was pretty brutal. It lasted one full hour (the actual interview) and the officer was VERY thorough in his questions. Right down to ridiculous questions like, "Who called who the first time you talked on the phone?" "What did you talk about the first time?" "How long did you talk for?" Neither one of us really remembered. Anyway, all of the questions were about the beginning of our relationship---no questions about our relationship since the k-3 interview. That kind of surprised me. After defending our relationship, we gave the officer our documents and he kept almost everything and looked through two photo albums of pictures. Then he let us go and told us that we would receive notification of their decision in the mail.

We both came home from the interview exhausted and had to take a nap. The whole experience was nerve-racking. The interview went pretty well though. Then yesterday we received an email stating that a welcome letter has been sent to my husband. We were both pretty relieved! Now once the green card arrives in the mail, we'll begin our two year break!!! YEAH!!!!

    Molly

    Worthy of a slap???

I suggest you wake him up and tell him, this is America, Jack !!! Wait till you are called.

  5. :help: I've received my NOA1 via snail mail. I went to the USCIS status link and entered the number and turned on my email notification. But I can't see any touches. Am I supposed to look somewhere else for touches? I'm in the pokey CSC but I still see references from other members of touches within a few days of receiving the petition.

So my question is will I receive email notification from every touch, since I turned to email on, or am I supposed to check for touches somewhere else?

I was received July 11th and my check was drawn from my account on July 18th

    Thanks

Where do they touch you??? It depends on where you like it.

  6. Well apparently Wayne Allard does not need anymore votes because his office sure doesn't care about me.. but here is what they said.

I first asked if they would look into my status.. They told me, no if 6 more months pass without a NOA2 they will check into it

I mentioned approvals from Vermont, they told me.. There is no such thing.. no one is being approved, I am misinformed. Then quickly said.. ohh you are in colorado so you go to California and they are extremely behind.

They said.. well first you need to repond to the RFE.. I said .. well if you looked into my status you would have known it was returned to USCIS..

Either way apparently we all need to wait 6 more months before it is considered out of hand, or before help will be given.. (for us Coloradans)..

What do you expect from Colorado !!! Colorado senators are against all forms of immigrations. Especially that idiot called tolcrado or whatever his name is. I'll be surprise if they are not working right now to block your application.

  7. Everyone, I´ve been approved today. I can´t begin to express my happiness, but at the same time, I would like to leave a word to everyone going through the same thing.

It´s hard, it hurts, makes us crazy and depressed, it seems endless and unfair, and so many times I lost hope. Everyone says that when it comes it´s all worth it, and it is, but you can´t simply forget the sleepless nights, the jealousy that others got it faster, etc.

I wish this process had been a fair one, older petitions approved first, and my thoughts are with all of you that have been caught up in this mess and are now waiting longer than you are supposed to. My thoughts are with the recalled petitions, and those at CSC and NSC that have to put with slow processing.

I hope you´ll all hear something soon, ´cus it´s unbelievable when you actually read those little words on the screen (this case has been approved).

To all of you ....

Come on !!! let's kick this party over to NVC.

  8. Im so pissed, so this is my vent I guess you could say.....I call Vermont AGAIN... To inquire of my case that has been sitting for 4 months as of today still at noa1 (as most of you know), Im being the charming person that I am trying to get as much info as I can on my case and this woman asks me if i have called in the past 30 days and I say yes I have, she then tells me DONT CALL HERE FOR ANOTHER 30 DAYS, I said HELLO Dont take that tone with me lady, she then says well just be happy that your not filing for the 1-130 or something like that cuz we are packing loads of them up and sending them to another service center and those people are going to be waiting for ages, I then say well I hadent filed for the I-130 I filed for the I-129f so that means nothing to me...I throw in a few words as to its been 4 months and I know of others that have sent the I-129f in through Vermont in April, May and June and yet they have been approved again she says, We will get to you when we can dont call us for 30 days very firm!!!!!! At this point I told her to Eat My Fu*k and hung up.

So now she prolly is pissing on my I-129f :angry::angry::angry::angry:

So now im on a quest to report this woman problem is I forgot her name... If she was just doing her job and saying to me in a calm manor her words it would have not been so bad, but this ###### took a really really mean and rude tone with me.... Ok im done ranting for now

    (L) Kelle

You are done ranting but the woman has not done with you yet. Do you know that these Govt. calls are recorded? When you call a Govt. line, even though those employees are a real a$$ you have to becareful not to lose your cool. I can almost guarantee you that this woman will see that your case will have more lights shed on it than usual. I suggest you call your congress man and let him/her know what just happened and save yourself some delays. These govt. workers are experts when it comes to frustrating customers.

  9. inheritance tax laws

    social security survivor benefits rules

    address change reporting

    restriction of some government jobs

can be deported for some crimes (not everyone who gets convicted was guilty)

release of sponsor/cosponsors from financial responsibility

Excellent reply, If you are not a US citizens you can be deported for any violent or drug felony conviction. Most good jobs are demanding citizenship requirements these days. And finally, it doesn't hurt to get it. It costs less than $500.00 to apply and believe me it's worth it !!! I'm in law enforcement today because i have it.

  10. My timeline is as follows:

    NOA1 - March 10th,

Requested additional evidence on June 23

RFE - received it on July 11

    NOA2????

Does anybody know why my two previous topics were locked?

Daisy, How old are you?? You act like a hardheaded 5 year old. I hope your usc fiance knows this about you in order for him/her to get a fair chance at knowing your behavior. You are making everybody on this site MADDD !!!!!!!!:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

  11. Oh no....this is not good for me. I havent even made to my NOA2 yet. Now to hear it'll be months and months more for an inerview date

    Not good

    :(

Neya, What's up. I agree with the previous post, The CR-1 takes a lot longer to get their interview dates. I think k-1 takes a lot less time.

  12. Sorry if I "drive you mad"....Sorry for being so impatient ...But I really miss my fiance and I am anxious

to return to the US...But I guess this is what everybody on this forum wants...I guess I need to calm down...I see I can't change anything...Good luck to everybody in this forum!!!! :star:

    Daisy,

You are very stubborn, we all know your motive for filling this i-129f petition. We all can see through you. He's 85 and you are 19. Go figure !! If you think we will tell USCIS your motive when you fill in your timeline, you are wrong. We have no business in your case, we are only here to give advise and help you see the light that shines on I129f. Don't worry about us, worry about your interviewer at the consulate. I bet he/she we see your motive too.

    P.S

USCIS warns that it is illegal and carries jail time to conduct immigration fraud!!

:star:

    Daisy,

You are a piece of work !!! what is so hard in filling out a timeline. You are such a hardheaded ______ . I feel sorry for your fiance. I hope he is as gentle as a retard. :o

  14. Hi all , i would like to ask if anyone who call overseas a lot to talk to fiance/financee if there is some website or calling feature that cost less or cheap to use ..i for once pay around 500 a month on tele bills alone , thanks in advance for you input ..

For anyone calling from the UK I would strongly recommend Alpha Telecom (http://www.alphatelecom.com).

The great thing is, that I can call my fiancee on her cell phone in the USA for 3 pence (~ 5 cents) per minute. The system takes £30 from my bank account as and when it needs it. I confidently speak with her for at least an hour or so a day (thats a whopping £1.80 a day!) and it costs me about £60 a month tops.

I have never had any problems with their service.

You can configure you phone to dial up their access numbers automatically. They also have access numbers for mobile phones. From a BT line you just dial 1833, then there is a pause then you dial you account number, password and then the phone number immediately afterwards.

    Cheers

If you sign up with vonage, all your calls to most european countries are free.

  15. O.K....I want to thank our fellow VJ'er that presented the otherside of the story to me. Cause, the story was one sided initially, but after getting the rest of the details..... Lets just say I'm with Sweetee this time...

It's prettty bad when a born, bred, and raised Nigerian woman tells you that she was even sceptical about returning home to marry her Naija primary school sweetheart. I admire you for your honesty, because you are right, these are your people, you grew up around/interacted w/them and you know how they think. You only confirmed my suspicions when you stated that so many Naija men have family members living here in the U.S. and they will go to extreme measures (by any means necessary) to ensure that they reunite w/loved ones here.

I'm sure you all remember not too long ago we read a story in which the brother had been coaching his brother on what to say to his American fiance. Making sure he mentioned, "Don't worry about how she looks etc..." Now in a situation like this, do you believe that your fiance is being sincere, or do you believe the brother whom has been coaching him???? It's confusing because you don't know what the hell to believe!

Now, I'm going to ask those of you whom have already been to Nigeria one question, and plz. keep it real...

How many times were you asked this question by fellow countrymen, "Do you have a friend you can introduce to me?" :o I knew they weren't bit more interested in developing anything meaningful, so I didn't even waste my time racking my brains thinking of eligible females... They were just trying to look for any opportunity to get the heck out of the country!

And although we(hubby & I) are trying our hardest at working at being a good friends, confidants, and spouses, I can't help but to look at my man w/ suspicion wondering if, and when he will pack his things and get to steppin'. Afterall, he has that 10yr greencard in hand, so he could step at any time.... It's happened to so many others, and although I am optimistic, I'm smart enought to know that our marriage is not invincible to attacks. (Yes, we have had a few serious ones to date  )

I would respect a person if they just came to you and said, "Look, I want to get a U.S. visa. I'm willing to make you a monetary offer of $$$$$ to assist me." Rather than be a manipulative, lying, conniving, calculating, deceptive ####### (Yeah I said it!) who uses trickery to convince women to marry them for the visa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tell you whats more crushing... When you see someone naively going down that road, and they don't even know it..... They are so happy & excited (Yes, we have all been there! And it's the most wonderful feeling in the world to be loved and accepted by someone. :luv: ), and you want the best possible outcome for them , (No, I don't want nobody's feelings getting trampled upon or hearts broken.) Nevertheless you just get a gut feeling, and know in your heart that something just ain't right, but you can't say nothing for fear of being called an unhappily, married-playa hater.

    O.K. I'm leaving it alone.........

Damn, you got some mean and stressed individuals on this post. Dam optimystic, take it easy now. Don't shoot nobody.

  16. We went tot the interview yesterday and it was easier than I thought. We gave our form sand the interviewer was very nice. he said they just need a little more information about when my fiance was arrested for using a false passport a few years back. The arrest was not shown on his police record and we are not even sure he was charged with anything. We are told depending on the information they receive...they will make the decision. The interviewer sounded optimistic, and said it will probably not count aainst my fiance, they just need to make sure there are no problems. We called my fiance's lawyer, but he is not returning or calls. i will have to return to the US for work on Sunday so it looks like it will take a bit longer...but at least we know we are so close.

How is Iraq? are things getting better !!! we are praying for iraq everyday here.

  17. I want to thank all of you guys who has contributed one way or the other to counsel me in my dilema in my previous post.

I am not a woman. Some of you do not understand the situation.

My situation is this,My USC fiance is a black American, we are not presently living together because of our faith and believe,I live with a friend for now, till after wedding which we have set on 22 july.

We have never had sex before and never married.I just came in on the 9th june 2006.

We had little misunderstanding on the 3 of july and she took it so serious, just because I called her to come and see me where i was staying, becausee I was so lonely and always staying indoors and I needed her around, when she is free from her work.

She started to recount all my weakness and rushed in to my room and collected her documents she gave me to apply for my k1 visa, and told me that IT IS FINISHED, I ask her what the matter was she was saying all manner of stuffs. Still I search my conscience,I can't not recall anything that I did that could provoke her to that extend.I was pleading with her to take it easy with me,let's resolve the matter.

To make the story short, each time I call her,she rarely pick my call neither return my calls. Both of us worship together.

Well, I need you guys not to jugde me,but to pray for us and ask God to tourch her heart

and cause her to have a re-think and accept me as I am,I am still learning her way of live and culture.

Please I need your prayers this time.

I will appreciate your prayers and valuable advice especailly from Black American women , who got married to African men. Please suggest to me how to resolve this issue with my fiance for I love her with all my heart and I want to marry .

Thanx for your advice in advance.

For my naiga bros I am not a fraud .I believe God for miracle through your prayers.

    Thank you all.

It is good that you explained yourself, valentine. You left us guessing, but now that i know we can give you more advise. Like i said before, patience and humility always wins. wait till your fiance cools off and see if you can talk to her. sit her down and open your heart to her. Let her know how you feel about her and that you care for her. Talk to her eye to eye while remaining humble and gentle even if she is acting up. Be a man and man-up to your situation, stay true to her and yourself and you will be a winner in all.

  18. Hi there,

I was wondering what's wrong in California. I think it's really bad when I read the processing times and the timelines here. It can't be real waiting longer than 4 or 5 months for NOA2.

I know I should be patient, because my journey just started, but it's hard, especially when your case was transferred from Nebraska to Cali.

Thanks though to all members for supporting each other... :D

cali is confused, seems like they fell on their head

  19. Hey Vj's members, how is every thing with you guys.

Please i need you guys to help me with sugesstion on what to do now.

I came in the U.S on k1 in june and my staying here will expire on 7th sept 2006.

I am having a little misunderstanding with my Usc fiance and she is threating not to marry me

    beuse of some personal isuues.

I want to ask you guys in this forum on what to do if she Refuse to marry me within the 90 days

of entry. What step can I take to legally resove my stay in the U.S.

And what does the law says about this issue.

thank you for your sugestions in advance.

Valentine, Your post and situation seems to be very confusing. whatever you are He or she please becareful in your dealings. Looking at your post and other posts, there seems to be deception in your post or mind. Please becareful, this is America and Nigeria already has enough bad name. Just last month, CNN crucified Nigeria on theri cable TV about Nigerian fraudsters, please don't be another statistics. Some of us are tired of this fraudsters and 419 destroying Nigeria abroad. And some of us we do whatever it takes to clean up the image, even if it takes reporting the fraudsters to the law enforcements. We work too hard to be classified as fraudsters. So my Brother/sister becarful and think twice b/4 you do anything evil, there are enough Nigerians in jail. And don't think i'm calling you a phony but your situation looks spooky. :)

  20. Yep, everyone but me. Looks like I'm the only one who hasn't been touched at all in almost 2 weeks. Oh well.

Grismar, all you do is complain and give negative feedback to every other member's success. Take a chill pill, there are so many here that filed zillion years b/4 you did and doesn't even have a rfe yet. Chill, man. You just filed last month.
