We did secured credit card.  Banks require a Soc Number.  Can't be on a mortgage with BoA unless you have two years of credit history.

It is no worries, it could be for something small. Who knows. Like the others have stated, you will find out what you need to do in the letter. Follow the instructions, take it seriously and turn it in quickly. Just a minor speed bump. The whole process is really quick, from initial filing to interview. You will see. It feels like forever when waiting on that NOA2, but it comes and goes so fast.
I did not receive an RFE during the i-129f filing, but did receive two RFE's on the i-864 form during the AOS filing. One was just a completely boneheaded mistake on my part. I filled out the house hold size wrong. I did not read thoroughly. The second one was because I did not submit the IRS Tax Transcripts with the filing. I did not do this for the i-129f and passed, but failed on the i-485. So now I am waiting on the outcome of submitting these corrections to them. Ordering the transcripts are easy BTW, just log on to the IRS website and search Tax Transcripts, go through a couple of questions and they will mail them to you. I received mine in five business days. Easy.
Again, no worries. If you need help, we are here.

E and R got a reaction from bobfnebsfsd in Ready to schedule interview status
Just saw that our status changed to "ready to schedule interview". After reading multiple threads on this status I see that there s no indication really of how short or long a timeframe that will be. Can others with the same status share how long they have had this status before receiving an interview scheduled date? Also, probably a dumb question but is it possible to receive the greencard without an interview or does this status always mean that there will be an interview?
Something unusual about the notice is that the date that is listed as the case being ready for scheduling was two weeks before we even sent the application so there is an obvious error there. Not too worried about it but it is strange..
Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview
As of March 17, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC169000XXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

I would take the timing of being attacked by your new wife and the visa process as a sign that now is the time to get out. People that are violent need years of therapy to change behavior like that. Annul the marriage (check with a local attorney but I bet violence is a justifiable and qualifiable reason for annulment). To me the important thing to do would not be thinking about how best to proceed with a future life together but how you can get out before more damage is done.
