I was thinking Ghana may have overtaken Nigeria, but in the last few months Nigeria has upped its game.
Agree that the best solution is lots of time spent together.
Thanks to all of you for your advice and I will do more visits before I file.

I would wait to file until after your second visit. Stay as long as possible. Two one-week trips is better than one, but if you could stay a few weeks, it would be better. You are dealing with a consulate that sees a huge amount of immigration/marriage fraud.
Thank very much for your advice! 🙏

How long were you together in person, when you DID get married? What is your age? What is his age?
In the 1 week I traveled to see him we married. I am planning to see him again in 6 months. I'm 39 he is 36. I had intended on seeing him before but covid hit and my plans had to be cancelled.

Hello,
I was married 6 years ago and had my husband's visa process approved. However he died back in his country before he was able to travel on his visa. Moving forward I befriended someone online some years after this and began a relationship online. We had this relationship for about 4 years online. In 2020 I had purchased a ticket to travel but covid hit and borders closed so my ticket had to be cancelled. I recently went to visit him and we want to be together so we married. I would like to petition for him but don't know if maybe I should wait until I see him again to start the petition or should I start it now even though I've seen him only this once in person. He is from Ghana.

my husbands interview was today and it was approved. I checked the status and it says administrative processing...what does this mean?

my husbands interview is monday. I received an email about registering and we're really confused about this. because when he calls or when I call it's a voice message. is this to register after his interview? for the visa?

According to dwheels' initial post on this thread:
I believe this can be paid after visa approval, either before or after your spouse enters the US (preferably before).
thanks for the response!

my husbands interview is August 15...as we prepare for this interview. I remember about a fee of $165 for the green card I believe, correct me if I'm wrong. Is this something that gets paid the day of the interview? I've heard it can be paid online and/or also once he arrives to the u.s.?

Thanks alot guys. ? Understood from the whole process that until and unless the case is complicated it's much better to do the whole process yourself. Helps in many things, which helped me in the interview alot. And all the files from the envelope from beginning to end everything we send to USCIS is being forwarded to the embassy. I was given back a huge bunch of things and felt like an idiot when i carried 500pgs of proff and 210 pics and CO asked for not a single thing like not even a single picture? It was clear enough that the decision was made earlier or my case was already read. I needed no I 864A from my mother in law when my in laws file taxes jointly and only father in law sent I 864A unless husband earns enough in the current year and has three years tax return to show, atleast was my case. Though i took all originals of I 864 and I 864A. All the best to everybody here waiting for interview and congratulations to who got approved including me ?

Yes ypu need to print the confirmation page of the DS-260.
I believe I did but to be sure how do i go back to that confirmation page? I want to See how it looks so I can tell my husband to keep that form on hand since he will need it.
-
I know the interview letter needs to be taken to the interview and medical appointment. When the d260 was completed the receipt from that also has to be presented as well for the interview? If anyone can please clarify. I have list of what embassy is asking for but I also remember there was another form that needs to be presented as well.

So wat is this Greencard production fee of $165. Is that paid on the day of interview?

Hopefully next week will be a good week for us, whoever is waiting for the interview date for August and September . ? Keeping finger crossed! ?
I really really hope we hear for interview dates next week. It's driving me insane to keep waiting!
-
No interview date yet. My case closed June 8th. Should I keep calling nvc daily?
-
Just wanna be done with this process, sometimes wantbto give up so badly. This paperwork so tough! So fed up with this mystery of dates. Give me my interview date!!! ????
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way gargalmon trust me I think the same way. I want to know when my husbands interview date is too.

Haven't received any CC email yet ?

A "current marriage license" I don't understand. I've never heard of this. where exactly did you read this? can you reference it please. We only have our Marriage certificate. how does that expire? my husband's interview is tomorrow and we have not been contacted by the embassy or anyone else about needed anything current.
I apologize for the confusion. It's the birth certificate that has to be a current one but this applies to our case since it's from el salvador
-
Looking forward to you. Now i will wait for the email. Hopefully no need of anything ??? but what is current marriage license. ??
Gargalmon it's just your marriage license with a more current date. I don't know why it makes a difference but that's what I've seen other people mention
-
I received an email from nvc that they are waiting to schedule my husbands visa interview. It's already in queue. My question is will I be receiving another letter stating if he will be needing additional paperwork? The only thing it mentioned in this email is that new police certificate will need to be obtained if it was more than a year ago. I've also heard from other people that a current marriage license is needed from less than 3 months from date of interview.

Thank you. Husband called NVC to confirm it and it was confirmed. Happy to join the interview thread ?
Congratulations ?
Gargalmon see I told you!! So happy for you! Congrats on your case closed!
Expedite i-130 request for fertility treatment
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
Hello,
I wanted to seek any input from any members here. So I petitioned i-130 for my husband November 1st 2022. He is in Ghana. I hear the processing Time can be up to 2 years. I am reaching the age of 40 and have not had any children due to fertility problems. My physician says I can get egg retrieval up to 41 years of age and I am running out of time to see if I can have a successful pregnancy thru ivf treatment and my husband is not here. Could I use this as a reason to expedite his process?
