  1. Hello,

I wanted to seek any input from any members here. So I petitioned i-130 for my husband November 1st 2022. He is in Ghana. I hear the processing Time can be up to 2 years. I am reaching the age of 40 and have not had any children due to fertility problems. My physician says I can get egg retrieval up to 41 years of age and I am running out of time to see if I can have a successful pregnancy thru ivf treatment and my husband is not here. Could I use this as a reason to expedite his process?

  2. Hello,

I was married 6 years ago and had my husband's visa process approved. However he died back in his country before he was able to travel on his visa. Moving forward I befriended someone online some years after this and began a relationship online. We had this relationship for about 4 years online. In 2020 I had purchased a ticket to travel but covid hit and borders closed so my ticket had to be cancelled. I recently went to visit him and we want to be together so we married. I would like to petition for him but don't know if maybe I should wait until I see him again to start the petition or should I start it now even though I've seen him only this once in person. He is from Ghana.

  3. Thanks alot guys. ? Understood from the whole process that until and unless the case is complicated it's much better to do the whole process yourself. Helps in many things, which helped me in the interview alot. And all the files from the envelope from beginning to end everything we send to USCIS is being forwarded to the embassy. I was given back a huge bunch of things and felt like an idiot when i carried 500pgs of proff and 210 pics and CO asked for not a single thing like not even a single picture? It was clear enough that the decision was made earlier or my case was already read. I needed no I 864A from my mother in law when my in laws file taxes jointly and only father in law sent I 864A unless husband earns enough in the current year and has three years tax return to show, atleast was my case. Though i took all originals of I 864 and I 864A. All the best to everybody here waiting for interview and congratulations to who got approved including me ?

  4. A "current marriage license" I don't understand. I've never heard of this. where exactly did you read this? can you reference it please. We only have our Marriage certificate. how does that expire? my husband's interview is tomorrow and we have not been contacted by the embassy or anyone else about needed anything current.

I apologize for the confusion. It's the birth certificate that has to be a current one but this applies to our case since it's from el salvador

  5. I received an email from nvc that they are waiting to schedule my husbands visa interview. It's already in queue. My question is will I be receiving another letter stating if he will be needing additional paperwork? The only thing it mentioned in this email is that new police certificate will need to be obtained if it was more than a year ago. I've also heard from other people that a current marriage license is needed from less than 3 months from date of interview.
