You’ll be fine on the way there. This is just on your way back to the states that you will need a bit more time. (When you so pre-clearance in Toronto on the way back).

Just to add to the other replies.
Depending which Canadian airport you are traveling through on your way back you will clear customs and immigration there before you board the flight to the US. If you will clear in an airport that you have a layover in, you might want to make sure you don’t have a quick layover.
My experience is based on Vancouver but I would give yourself extra time at the airport as each time I travelled with the combo card I had to go to the back room to process the AP which added 30-45 mins each time depending on how busy they were that day. But the extra time varies from person to person and airport to airport. (I was also traveling at non peak times on weekdays on purpose).

Yes I went to the one in Stanton with no appointment and it was no problem at all. The DLPC are the ones they encourage you to go for license renewals or new licenses If you have no appointment. And in the case of Stanton compared to my local DMV, there was more desks and the wait was always less.
I have no idea on whether the EAD would be valid, but you could ask at your interview tomorrow. Good luck!!

Marrienne, that job sucked for you anyway. They lied to you when you got hired. There are plenty of 9-5 normal jobs for immigrants. You got a lot of good advice about getting a job using your expertise in your other thread. Even being a secretary would be a much much better than overnight stocking (no offense meant to any overnight stockers, it's just that OP has a family). Chin up and give that job the finger.

Our EAD and AP numbers are still not working after 95 days.
I-485 was not working and updated after 43 days to ready to be scheduled for interview.
I was told by tier 1 last week that they have thousands and thousands of receipt numbers not working. So we are not alone in this issue at all.

Ok Tier 2 told us today that we are still pending , and we are not approved yet even though we were told so last week. They also said that filing the service request may have delayed the case.
I was also told there is nothing I can do and to hold tight for another 30 days.
We are at day 95. Has anyone filed another service request after the first one comes back and says it's still pending?

Give them a call. Each county has different ways of processing and we almost went with somewhere in Northern California as they could do same day as Daveykins said. We were told OC is still two weeks even with a ceremony at the clerks office. But we didn't ask on time for LA county.
    Good luck!

Ok so we also didn't want to wait 6-8 weeks. From what I could gather from old VJ threads you can always call and see if it's processed quicker and a lot of people were, but not all. Our officiant said there was no way of guaranteeing it by a certain date, and minimizing the time was important to us. So we ended up getting married with an OC license which takes 10 business days for the copy to be available to be picked up. ( you can use an OC license anywhere in CA).
But I would call la county to see if they will record same day, but this may just mean by dropping it off your license gets to them quicker than mail.

Yes, this would be the Monday unfortunately. So if you are visiting, it would be a Friday to Tuesday trip here if you want it all in one trip.
