  1. Dwheels, On the same note, I was in a group chat of ex-University colleagues back In Nigeria, and alas! I mentioned we miss PRINCE.... everyone was like who is prince, I said clearly Nigerians don't miss PRINCE, all they miss is petrol and NEPA. lol

So sad when I learned he passed away =(

He's one of my favorite artists. One of my dreams, indeed, when I move to the US was to see him perform live at Paisley Park.

Back to the main topic, I hope the US Embassy in Madrid has an available interview slot for me in June. I'm surprised I'm having to wait this much since CC was on March 17; it looks like there's more demand than I thought, but it's not being reflected on this forum

  2. Update: I arrived in the US on April 13th. My POE was Dublin. I flew with Aer Lingus and arrived safely in Chicago.

POE went well. They were not a lot of line. I was welcomed by a nice woman officer. She brought me to another room and gave my sealed envelop to another person. This person asked me the name of my husband and my final destination. He also showed me a paper and asked me to verify if my personal information were correct. He asked for a phone number in the US. And just told me that my visa and stamp are valid until I received my physical green card.

I am travelling in July with my husband, and I asked him if I won't have any issue to enter the US if I didn't receive my physical green card which he responded by no.

It only took less than 20 minutes.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing this.

I plan that to be my POE as well when we move to Chicago.

Still waiting to know if interview will be in May or June!

  3. Hi guys,

My case got approved on March 29th and I'm still waiting for an interview. When we think that the wait is over, it starts all over again in a different stage of the process. Anybody got approved around that date and got interview?

My case was complete on March 17th and I'm still waiting. I think it depends on the embassy, so don't bear in mind if there are people with a similar CC date as yours in order to guess... I'd rather take a look at other Brazilians in the forum to find out.

  4. We are in the same boat. Our case was completed on March 11 and we still haven´t been scheduled for an interview at the Embassy in Madrid. I´ve called the NVC multiple times and we haven´t been given any explanation for the delay. I´ll post when we (finally) get our interview date, so hopefully yours should be scheduled a few days later. Wishing you the best of luck!

OMG, I don't feel so alone anymore. I thought I was the only here going through the US Embassy in Madrid!

Hope we can have good news soon. Thank you and likewise: good luck!

  5. For most embassies they fill up the sots within a few days after they start scheduling. Scheduling has always been the last 3 to 5 days of the previous month. So My estimate is June scheduling will start anywhere from April 25th to April 28th. And it continue until they either run out of slots (the norm) or they run out of petitions.

NVC will always say and has for the last 4 years I have been doing this "interview scheduling is the first or second week of the month".

I called them yesterday and they told me the interview scheduling for May is still available until this Friday included.

I hope Madrid schedules me... Otherwise, I'll have to wait for a June interview.

  6. I'm starting to feel frustrated here. I have been calling once a day NVC since I got the email notifying about case complete (late March) to find out if an interview has been already scheduled. But the answer is always no...

I've barely seen people on this journal that have done the consular processing through the US Embassy in Madrid, so it's hard to find a guide. I wish I had more light on this subject!

Congratulations to all of you who have been advancing in your paths :-)

  7. I don't believe RFE is requested after I-130 is approved.

That first step usually verifies that you can indeed apply for a visa.

In the next step, you will deal with the visa application itself; that is, the DS-260 and the affidavit of support, plus the financial and supporting documents, which you will send to the NVC.

Some people get checklists on this stage, but they are usually related to missing or wrong submitted information.

After the application is approved by NVC, the Embassy may request extra information for the interview.

  8. According to USCIS site:

Once you receive your immigrant visa packet from a U.S. embassy or consulate, we strongly encourage you to pay the fee after you pick up your immigrant visa and before you depart for the United States.

You may also pay the fee after you arrive in the United States. If you arrive in the United States and haven’t yet paid the USCIS Immigrant Fee, USCIS will send you a notice requesting payment with instructions on paying your fee. You will not receive your Green Card until you have paid the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

  9. Hi all of you.

In about 24 hours i will be on my way to my love ones.

I hope all of you have a great Easter and more good news will follow for you.

If some on gets near Sarasota, please msg. me and lets get a coffee :)

So that i have not been here to help people out, but have been packing and getting ready.

I'm very happy to read you are about to complete all the process =)

    Enjoy!

  10. Good morning guys!

I paid AOS on the 03/10/16 which shows paid but IV I paid on 03/13/16 which still shows in process. I called NVC to inform them that I can't fill out the DS 260. The agent told me it takes 7 days to process. Even though it says 2-3 business days on the website to process.

Did it take anyone 7 days to unlock the DS 260?

Ours took 7 days to unlock the DS260 form. Be patient! =)
