  1. Has anyone here had experience submitting a needed document before a checklist has been generated?

We submitted our packages to NVC in the beginning of this month, and we just received a police clearance that we thought was unattainable. Our original package includes documents to support our claim that the police clearance could not be attained; but, luckily they FINALLY issued it after many months of us trying to get it. Anyway, I'm just curious how this might affect our scan date.

Also, if I included a copy of my passport in our packages do I really mail it to my husband?

    We experienced that: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/583969-nvc-filers-february-2016/page-53#entry8015716

Congratulations, by the way, to all of you who have got CC ;-)

  2. Its on their signature timeline:

01/25/2016 NVC scan date (waiting time given until case complete: 30-45 days)

02/16/2016 NVC 2nd scan date (got a checklist)

    Exactly! ;-)

    Fingers Crossed CC soon!

    Thank you! =)

We never received an email stating that our packets were received. However I did call NVC and they did receive them. Did anyone else never get an email?

I always get notifications via email from them.

  3. Hi guys, there will be a delay but it won't be 45 days.

A checklist does not reset you back to the end of the line, it puts you aside and back in line when you comply.

Do you mind to share with us what triggered the checklist? That is how we all learn.

    Good luck.

    Long story cut short:

The 2014 taxes transcript was taking very long to get. Don't know why...

That's the reason it took us long to send all and be given the first scan date. We could have had everything done by late December.

Therefore, we sent all except 2014 taxes transcript, including an addendum in lieu of it.

Later, we were able to get it, so we mailed it (just in case). When they received it, we were given this second scan date.

It's not technically a checklist, but it feels like it.

Anyway, since we rely on a joint-sponsor to meet the requirements and all is OK on that side, we are positive that everything will be alright and faster than predicted ;-)

  4. This link does not seem to be working for me . There were files which were transferred to the new center potomac . What does this particular link say

Since you mentioned "Now it states case received in my local office", I figured it could mean the USCIS office in India, located in New Delhi: http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-offices/india-uscis-new-delhi-field-office

  5. Did you receive via email a Welcome Letter with the DOCUMENT COVER SHEET that has the list of supporting documentation to indicate was is INCLUDED, NOT AVAILABLE and NOT APPLICABLE?

The email that SoerenHelmer and I received?

What cover sheet are you planning on using for your IV package?

    Thanks for your input.

Our process here is slightly different from yours, since we hired an attorney when we started the process. Therefore, our attorney was automatically chosen our agent and we didn't have to do the DS-261.

We got a welcome letter that was addressed to our attorney and it included the instructions to pay the fees through CEAC, which she already paid this past Friday (although CEAC still shows as "in process").

This is what we see when we enter CEAC (edited some data to protect our privacy):

  6. As i payed i got all the paperworks needed.

I payed Agent Fee Friday and it´s still processing!

I payed IV Fee last night and its processing.

Can you tell me here or in a msg, how you put it together.

IV fee and AOS fee still showing as "in process" and they were paid on Friday... Patience as usual!

Here we got most of the information and documents ready. Only waiting to receive some tax stuff we need for the AOS. We need a joint-sponsor, but we have that covered too.

I need to request the police certificate, but my attorney has not instructed me to do it yet (I believe it's due to a expiry date matter).

Wishing all the best to y'all, so we have a smooth and quick journey through NVC and Consulate! I'm very happy to read about your updates :)

  7. Good luck everyone. I just sent NVC an email regarding my situation and that I need them to change my embassy from philippines to canada. Thats another month of waiting for me before I can proceed to the next step after receiving NVC case number. I dont mind waiting since my wife and I and our kids are living together already. The wife just wants to move to the U.S of A.

I am happy for everyone who are progressing and wish everyone good luck!

I hope you get it solved soon! =)
