  1. Usually you can start working as soon as your receive your Greencard. Most offices no longer stamp the passport but if you have yours stamped than you can start after that. It is likely if approved at the interview that you will receive your Greencard in a couple of weeks. In some cases there are some information that is still being worked on, which causes a delay in receiving your Greencard. Hope this helps with your inquiry :D

  2. You will need to submit the I-864 form, which can be found on the USCIS website. This will answer their question for the RFE. In the I-864 you will need to submit a copy of your Federal tax file with the W2s, your current employment info(I submitted 1 month of Paystubs)and the form indicating that your income is over the 125% poverty line for your total household size. I hope this explains what you need :)

  3. I called customer service to hear about the status of our interview. The rep told me nothing is updated as of yet but she stated that she will complete a service request and gave me a referral number. It has been 2 weeks since the interview and nothing as of yet. This is becoming really stressing. If I don't receive any notification by this Friday, I will schedule an infopass appt.,Is this ok to do?

  4. HELLO EVERYBODY, I'M NEW HERE AND I JUST NEED SOME HELP ....

I CAME ON A B/2 VISA, WE GOT MARRIED IN A COURT, AND THEN THE CEREMONY, NOW WE HAVE OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, HE IS A US CITIZEN, WHAT I NEED TO DO KNOW ? WHEN CAN I START TO WORK ????

Welcome to VJ. It is a very helpful website.

If you have not filed anything yet then you would want to file for the I-130 (Petition for alien relative), I-485 (Adjustment of Status), and I-765 (Application for employment) because you are here on a B2 visa. These forms can be filed concurrently, which is faster than being filed separately. You can download the I-130, I-485, and I-765 forms online by clicking "downloads" here on VJ or visit the immigration website at www.bcis.gov. You than want to prepare all the documents needed for all of the forms, which can be take a while to do. You will need to send these forms together to the Chicago lockbox. If you need help with the forms, please feel free to contact me. :D

I have gone through the same experience

  5. We had our interview on July 19. We walked in and sat for 20 minutes then they called us in. It was a women, who was relaxed and professional. The interview took about 15 minutes. Then it was done and she did not say anything about being approved. She stated that the our file was at the San Francisco office and if she does not receive the file she will base the case on the interview. We provided a lot of documents showing our relationship and she said it was enough :D . She said that we will receive notification through the mail. No stamp on the passport. :(

I called the customer service line on July 24 and they stated that they are still working on the case.

It has been one week since the interview  no response.

Hopefully your case does not take this long to be approved

    Best of luck
