My spouse will soon enter the US on a K-3. What is the best way to apply for EAD?
1. Before applying for AOS -- Category (a)(9) (mail to Chicago Lockbox)
2. Concurrent with AOS -- Category ©(9) (mail to...?)
3. After AOS Application sent and Receipt received -- Category ©(9) (E-File)
Does one process take a longer or shorter amount of time than the other (because of the different Categories)? Is E-Filing (Option 3) any faster than the other options?
Thanks!
The fastest way would be to file for the EAD along with the AOS. The EAD would be under the category of AOS. The EAD would be processed faster than the AOS. The EAD will be failed about 3-6 months whether you file with AOS paper format or E-file. Hope this helps

I was reading another topic that led me to this question.
If my husband opts to come into the US with a K-3 and go back to the UK for the CR-1 interview, how long does he need to plan to be in the UK for that? Is it as simple as going for one interview and coming home, or will he have to wait there for days or more? Since he will be living with me in the States already, can he have his medical exam for the CR-1 interview here in South Carolina?
If your husband comes to the US with the K-3 visa, he would have needed to file for the I-130 before. Once he gets into the US with the K-3 visa, he may than file for an Adjustment of Status (I-485). He would not get interviewed in the UK instead he will be interviewed in the US for I-485. He does not need to go back. Hope this helps

That is good enough. Do you have emails that you sent eachother? That can also help in addition, you should have cards you have given to each other.
-
If you don't have a joint account does not mean that your case will be denied. You may want to refer to other documents that shows your life together such as:
-Lease Agreement
-Joint credit card accounts
-Life and medical insurance
-Car insurance
-Emails, Cards, and pictures
-Tickets of travel you took together
-Joint utility bills
-Joint ownership documents
-Joint Tax documents
Hopefully this helps

Congrats
I have a the same addiction of checking the case online but nothing has changed since the interview on July 19. This is so depressing
I have a infopass appt tomorrow hopefully they will tell us the status of our interview
-
Congrats
I would definately schedule an infopass before the interview or call the cust rep line to see if you really need to appear at the interview when you are already approved.

You call the bank or location where you received the money order and they will give the number. It is the Intergrated Payment Systems that usually knows the status of whether it has been cashed. I hope this helps.

Congrats
We are also in the same situation. The officer stated that we will also be receiving a notification through the mail in a couple of weeks. It has been over two weeks. I also scheduled for an infopass appt. for August 7, 2006 to find out the status of our case. Wish us luck on this.

This is a long awaited Congrats

Try to submit a copy because they obviously don't know what "their" forms contain.
In addition, try to speak with an immigration officer, who knows a little more info than the cust. rep. or schedule an infopass appt
I hope this helps

Filing AOS at your local office is no longer available. You will need to file at the service center, which is the Chicago office. Than they will handle your case until you have an interview at the local office in Seattle. I had my interview in Seattle. If you need help with AOS procedures you can set up an appointment(Infopass) and you can choose anytime and date. You have to have an appointment. A work authorization card takes from 3 to 6 months to receive after filing. You can also bring anyone who is filing with you as well.
Hope this helps

This is a very sad story. Dealing with USCIS is one thing but to have all you all have worked for in shambles is very hard to understand. I am sorry you had to deal with that. Hopefully this time you will be aware of what happened and take it as a lesson. As the saying goes "You learn from your mistakes". Cheer up at least you did not have children yet. I hope you start a good life now.
Much luck to you

Congrats
Great story. Hope you enjoy your new life as a permanent resident

That is a major problem. Who does your husband live with? If he lives with other people try to get him to have your name on the lease. USCIS is very hard on cases like this. Or get a letter with a notary stating that you live with your husband, once you move in or something. Sorry, I hope this might offer you some information in regards to your question
