I just wrote the Embassy in Guyana this week asking what they needed in regards to taxes, how many years and if it needs to be notorized and this was their response:
Only the most recent year, they did not want a notorized copy rather, "a copy of the taxes stamped and certified by the IRS. We will also accept an electronic printout from the IRS....We need is an IRS certified copy of your 1040 for the most recent year. This information may also be requested form the IRS at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html. "
Or you can call 1-800-829-1040 - there is no fee

My NOA was given on the 7th. Today in the mail I got a letter from NVC dated July 14 that states that within a week it will be forwarded to the embassy. When I check the website at USCIS they show no change since the approval of the I-129F.

My fiance was just dismissed from his job on June 25th. The NOA2 was appproved the other day - Fri 7/7/06 We are filling out the DS-230 form now as my fiance is not going to be in the counrty when packet three arrives. We have everything all ready to go for this sister to send it back to the embassy once packet three arrives at the home. My question is "#12 Your Present Employment." Should he write:
None
N/A
Last employment as Seamen
Does anyone know if it will be bad for his interview if he doesn't have employment when he is at the interview?
Also for education - he only has high school - should that he a concern?
thanks
Me again - I also forgot to ask on the DS-230 form Part 1 for "#22 In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States" We are unsure what type of work he will look for. He may look for work at the docks, maybe something mechanical, he may go to school to study a particular trade. So I am what to say and what they are looking for. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Me too!! I'm July 7th for the NOA2. My fiance said he is going to celebrate - I can't believe it is moving ahead! I'm hoping to get him here for August before I go back to school in Sept as a teacher.

it means that they have picked up your file at the center and dusted it off with a vacuum, i am only kidding. It means that when you log onto the USCIS Website and enter you receipt number, and there is something called updated date, this is what is refered to as touched, LIke when they update that date since you entered it into the system.
good luck, i hope i spelled vacuum right? oh well
Thank you both for the helpful info!

I just received my NOA1. I see that many of you have dates of when you have been "touched." What does that mean? How will I know that I have been touched.
Thanks

For Guyana - I e-mailed the embassy ahead while waiting for my NOA2 and they e-mailed me back with the OF-167, visa instruction (a check list) and said that the petioner needed to fill out a DS-230 Part 1 Biographic Form.
