  1. Hi everyone!

Im happy to report that everything went well for us in Naples. Visa approved!

It was a very easy process, consulate staff were very friendly. The CO herself was so sweet and lovely.

They first collected our documents (after patiently waiting in a queue with 8 people ahead of us) all original civil documents with translations. There was a small mistake on my hubby's birth cert. Translation which created a bit of anxiety for us but at the end didnt play a significant role in the actual interview. They also requested original signed affidavit (which they had) and the girl receiving the docs asked me for my 1040 (tax form) and W2 for 2014, I did not have this because I had provided tax transcripts but fortunately I had brought copies of my 2015 W2s and she gladly took them (i suggest you bring your tax forms if you have them). Remember, better to have extra stuff than miss some stuff and delay your case.

They asked us the basics: our age, how we met, where we live, they asked me (the petitioner) where I work? Had we been married previously? did we have any kids? And that's all. They didnt ask for one picture or one plane ticket (which I had plenty lol) in fact, I never even sent any pics to UCIS nor NVC so I figured they would ask for them at the interview, and nope...

They consul lady said: congratulations, you are approved and visa will be issued in 5 days! After that, I broke down in tears of emotion and my hubby teared up as well when he saw me. The CO was very sweet and said: you should be happy! In all honestly, I just saw all these months of hard work and anxiety wrapped in those final words and couldn't contain myself.

With that said, I want to say a big thank you to all of you VJ'rs who have provided much needed support and shared you knowledge on this long journey. This is my 9th visit to Italy to see my hubby and God willing the last as he will be getting ready for his first visit in to the US.

I will follow up with consulate review and timeline updates.

    God bless you all!!!

Just logged into CEAC and our 17 and a half month long visa journey is finally over. Visa has been issued. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. :dancing:

Congratulations to everyone else who had their approval today too. :)

    GZ Both of you :)

  2. Mr. Jensen,

Thank you for your inquiry. USCIS handles scheduling for our immigrant visa applicants and sends us a schedule each month. While we have the ability to move appointments, we cannot do so until all cases are assigned, which is not yet the case for March.

Once we have received all of our bookings, we may be able to reschedule you. However, we cannot determine that at this time as all case are not yet scheduled.

Please reach back to us in one week when we will likely know about earlier appointments. Thank you!

  4. That tracking does not play any roll at this point, we all know their package has been there for awhile because of the expedite.

But I am trying to retask one of my satellites to target

Well i just want to play around.

Frank i was talking about my packet :)

  5. So the US embassy in Stockholm is back at work. Looks like they're working on our case now, or at least I hope so. We just had a status update on CEAC with today's date. Still AP though.

I can tell you, being in this process for 17 months sure test the nerves. Either it tears a relationship apart or it makes it stronger. Luckily for my husband and I it's the latter. If it wasn't for my husband and how much I love him, I would have cracked a long time ago. This visa process is by far, the toughest thing I've ever had to do.

    Hope they are done soon.

Still no email from either of the places I email last week.

  6. Hello all, for our case we were instructed by the embassy that we need to show proof of an intent to re-establich domicile in the U.S., the dreaded 221(g). While we have taken most of the steps in terms of applying to jobs, and making a considerable money transfer to our U.S. bank account, as well as providing information such as driver's license etc., we still have a sticking point of showing proof of where we're going to live when we get there.

We made plans to stay with our joint sponsor for the short term, upon our arrival, until we find a place of our own and move into it. In order to show this to the embassy I've read around that we can get a letter from him stating that we have made such arrangements.

Does anyone have (or can at least point me to) a sample letter as such. We're not really sure what kind of (or how much) information it should include, and how detailed it should be. Should it be an official rental agreement, even though he doesn't plan to charge us for staying with him? Are there any specific points that we have to make in this letter? Does the letter need to be notarized?

Your help as always is immensely appreciated.

I have just asked my wife to mail me all the papers she have with her add. in USA.

And copy of SSN and Drivers license.

When we applied she was living in DK but she moved back in Dec so with us there has been a big change and i don´t think i need much more.

I also have a letter from my Join sponsor telling that we will be living there until i get a job and we can find a good place to live and a good school for my kids.

What time is the appointment and what is your time zone? I am just curious because Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of EST zone.

Are you gonna sleep or stay up waiting for the call?

Frank do your magic with the DHL tracking :)

  7. Hello everyone

    Umm, i have two questions!!?

First did anyone receive a letter from the nvc saying that they have updated your mailing/emailing address?! We got a letter mailed to the address in US we had on our ds260 stating that?!?

Second does anyone know when does the nvc schedules appointment for the next month?! Like at the first two weeks of the month or the second or what?!?

NVC runs dates for the first 2 and last 2 weeks in separate blocks.

So next one will start soon or we hope.

It´s seems like that they have made some small changes, but i don´t think that is one of them.

Has anyone recently interviewed at the London embassy? If yes, how long did it take to get your passport back with the visa after the interview??!?

One line is all you need :)

Go look in the spreadsheet and find ppl in London.

  8. Oh it´s be a loooong weekend with that extra day of in US.

Let´s hope they start working again and don´t take the rest of the week off also ;)

For Mexico, do you know if the consulate will also be closed because of the Pope's visit? Hope not..My case is expedited I'm assuming my case will be sent out tomorrow.

If its a national holiday for Mexico or US, then they will have closed. :(

  9. Gm I wanted to share that i have a interview date already at the us embassy in Dominican republic I was told that I had to do both date on the ustraveldoc website due to the fact that my case was expedite to DR and the NVC has nothing to do with my case so March 2 he will go to his finger prints at 3:15 meaning he will do his medical in the morning and March 17 at 7:00 will be his interview

they told me that I had to do my own schedule so I did..

Is it good to put the medical so close to interview ?

We got told here, that 10 days or so before, is a good thing.

But if there are no early date, then it has to be like that.
