UPDATE: Not sure if this info will be helpful, but posting anyway.

We sent 1751 and document lump on Jan 7th.
    Arrived on Jan 9th
    Check cashed Jan 14th.

    I didn't get e-mail receipt notice despite sending G-1145.

Anyway, I really did want the case number, so I called USCIS and they gave it to me over the phone. I called at 12:30 pm eastern time and was on hold for less than 20 seconds.

When you call 800-375-5283 you can get into an endless loop of menu instructions. To get out of menu hell to a live human, do this:

Press 1 for English. (Assuming you want English)
    Press 2: Want Case Status
    Press 2: Can't Locate Receipt #
Press 2: Yes oh please for goodness sake connect me to a human.

Blamo....you will soon hear a happy sounding USCIS service representative.

The first thing they want is the A-Number. (The 9 digit number on the green card)
Then they'll ask for some birthdays, your address and you're good to go.

Then just ask for your Case number and you shall receive it.

Mine is EAC and then 10 numbers.

    I wonder what EAC means.........??????

I still haven't received a text message ( I attached a G1145). I'll try calling them using the above method and get a case number. Thanks!

(You wanna come in to the USA. make as much money as you can and then go back to your home country! ) this is why president Trump has so much hate for us! How about you go back to your country and make money there, and let me know how that works out for you!!!

ohh please expand on this! Why does the orange clown hate expats (Yes expats not immigrants!!!)? I won't waste my time educating a troll but please for the sake of humanity read how the world works.

Sounds like some people have heard that they are scheduling people during the first two weeks of next month. Not that the date will be then, but that you'll get a date then. You could try the "Middle East" subforum regarding specifics about the Islamabad Embassy.

I feel like overall people would like the NVC more if they were more consistent and clear on what they can/cannot do. Most of them will tell you they can't do anything to alter your place in line, but then you hear about a few cases where they state that they do. Congrats!

Yeah, I was expecting the same old answer from them "case is in the review department, expect an email..."but this person actually opened my file and saw the document and asked me questions about it.

9 weeks today! Just got off the phone with an NVC agent. Got a different answer than the usual "it's in the right department". The agent actually pulled up my new birth certificate they received to verify if it was correct and then forwarded it to the supervisor with a note for review. Told me to call back next Monday. Hoping to be complete before 10 weeks.

Just saw 3 N/A's! Calling to confirm now :)

Confirmed!!! I'm still surprised by the NVC agent - actually did something to put my case on top of the supervisor desk.

  6. Are you Czech by birth? You were born in Asia but were you born of Czech parents who happened to be in Asia at the time or are you of Asian origin and you and/or your family emigrated to the Czech Republic later?

No, not Czech by birth. Parents emigrated to Czech Republic and I am of Asian origin.

    Thanks

  7. Hi Vjer's
I got a checklist for my birth certificate :(
"We cannot accept the birth certificate document you sent. You must send us the correct document so we can continue to process your case. To see the guidelines for your document, go to our website at"
Background about me: Born in Asia but grew up in the Czech Republic. Back than my home country embassy in Czech Rep. issued me a "birth certificate" . Currently, I have Czech citizenship and Czech issued birth certificate. Which I sent to USCIS and NVC. USCIS had no problem with it.
Could it be that NVC wants to see my original embassy issued birth certificate? I've read that documents go missing, could it be they lost mine?
I will call them Monday to find out but till than trying to understand this.

Thanks for any inputs, recommendation, ideas!
  8. If that's what they said, then I assume one of two things is really happening...

    1) The representative does not really know and is just spouting what they think is happening.

    -or-

    2) "Supervisor review" does not mean a supervisor personally reviews it, rather it just means that it passes their 6-week benchmark and the supervisor reminds the processing employee of that fact. Or that a supervisor reviews ONLY those cases that pass the benchmark, and most cases are not passing the benchmark. Considering their backlog, passing each case directly through a supervisor would grind them to a halt; they simply can't have that many supervisors unless basically every employee is a supervisor. This would be similar to how several other federal agencies process workloads in the US, so I suspect it is likely, but I have no personal knowledge of the internal workings of the NVC.

I could always be wrong, however. If a couple of other representatives say it, or if mostly everyone starts ending up in supervisor review, then we'll know for sure that is indeed what they are doing.

Sounds like it's number 2. Though, I think I've seen others receive a checklist before there 6 weeks are up. Someone had to have looked at them.

I hope like JFH I get approved after 2 days on supervisor review.
