  1. I called this morning to speak to an IO Tier 2, I called twice using a landline and a cell phone as I have previously been disconnected in the past and had to start the process over and wait a few hours to speak to an IO again, so if one failed then I have the other to use. Anyways, speaking with the Customer service (Tier 1 person?) they mentioned that since I had my fingerprints taken at the POE within a year (end of July this year) of this application that I will not receive a biometrics appointment as they were already taken, and that biometrics are good for a year.

This doesn't make any sense because there are more people that have entered through there POE and submitted the AOS (485/765/131) within a year and are still getting bio appointments.

Does anyone have any input on this? Basically he said I have nothing to worry about that I got my receipt notice and have not had any RFE's and that my applications are still going "smooth." I still have a call back waiting from a Tier 2 IO that I will get further details but this is what I was just told.

  2. I was connected with a Tier 2 today after I called this morning (10:30am) and was placed on the call back list... Finally got the call at 4:30pm, they were verifying and reviewing my case and the line went dead... I was using a landline too... not sure what happened and they're on a "stop-call" or whatever they call it and cannot transfer any calls and for me to try again in an hour and a half or two hours, or tomorrow morning.

While I am waiting, what questions have people asked that typically get them somewhere. Some say to be specific or they will just give you general answers?

Its been 62 days and no biometrics for those who haven't seen my previous post. Also, originally when I was on the line this morning with the first person who answered the phone, they said i needed to do an interview for the EAD? That doesn't seem right does it?

  3. To those who still haven't received their biometrics appointment letter, are you adjusting from K1, J1, or Tourist visa?

Just wanted to know if it matters on where we're adjusting from...

    Adjusting from K-1 to PR

Mine is 50 days since my noa received. Still waiting for bio letter.

62 days today I am waiting for bio letter

im on tourist visa. It doesnt really matter

I don't think the visa matters either.

    mine is F-1 student visa

The only group of people that haven't received any biometric appointments are those with Notice Date of Aug 17th (based on what I see)

My notice date was August 15th... still nothing.

  4. You can expect the EAD within 90 days from the "received date" on your notice of acceptance. The received date is usually the day after your package is delivered to them.

So for you, if they received your case on August 15th, your EAD should be approved by something like Nov 12th or 13th.

Is this despite have a biometric appointment or not? I'm on day 62 with no biometric appointment! and I have a job and its being held until I get it so I'm hoping I don't get delayed much more than the 90 days! I have had my fingerprints taken for my work permit back in 2013 so maybe they're using those?

  5. Hi all, I have been reading pretty much this whole post, I am from Chicago and filed my AOS package in Chicago.

It sucks to see that people before and after me (and others with similar dates) have received there biometrics appointment and completed it before I have even gotten a notice for an appointment (my receipt date for my AOS package was August 15th which I only got one NOA receipt which was for my AP, nothing else). I tried calling the Tier 2 officer today and was placed on a 5 hour call back list. Likely I won't be getting called back today so I will call again tomorrow. It has been 62 days since I got my AP receipt notice and haven't heard a single thing for my EAD or AOS. I did get an RFE (that I found out through calling and speaking to a Tier 2 last month) and submitted the proper documents and they received that on September 28.

Having read that a few people got there EAD (and AP) without having a biometrics done raises hope a bit, but not much. I often wonder if I didn't receive a biometrics appointment because I already went through fingerprinting with my work visa back in 2013/2014?

I have a job lined up with a letter of employment offer, I am going to submit that with a USPS expedite service to the lockbox (is that where I send it?).

When I look at my USCIS case status my EAD and AP say "Case Was Received on..." and my AOS said "RFE was received and submitted..."

Does anyone have any input? I know patience is key, but

  6. Hi everyone,

My AOS package was received August 15, I have yet to receive my Biometrics appointment and have had one RFE for the I-485 which I never received a notice for and found out at the mid-September when I called as I had only received one NOA for my I-131.

When I called and filed an inquiry or whatever, another person called me back a few days later and informed me of the current status on the other cases. Anyways, I got an RFE in the mail shortly I had called, not sure if it was the original or not but regardless I sent the info in right away and it was received Sept. 28.

To this day I have yet to receive a biometrics appt. I called a few minutes ago and requested another look into what is going on and they said I need a biometrics done prior to getting my EAD

Will not having the biometrics done make my EAD come later than it should?? I have a two jobs lined up for when roughly it should come, (the companies know that it could be before or after the rough 90 days after receipt.

They said it could take up to 30 days for them just to get back to be about my inquiry??

Is it safe to say that my I-485, I-765, and I-131 will all be delayed heavily until I get my biometrics done...???

  7. Hi guys, been reading and snooping around the website for some answers and thought i'd post while I still look. I submitted my AOS package (with AOS, AP, and EAD applications) on August 17th, 3 weeks ago and received our NOA1 shortly after, however when I go to check my status with my case number on the USCIS Check Status link it comes up as an error. When I call the USCIS support line the automated voice system does not recognize my number either. Is/has anyone else having/had this issue? Is this just a wait it out situation? Is there a way I can bypass the automated system to talk to someone at the USCIS office?

    TIA, Mike

  8. Hey guys, thanks everyone for the help, I finally have my AOS package complete and ready to mail, here is what it looks like from my cover letter.

Does anyone have any comments of advice?

For the Civil Surgeon, I read on here I didn't actually need one but for piece of mind I went ahead and had it transcribed and signed. He wouldn't fill out Part 3, and wouldn't include anything but Part 7 (Vaccination information) so I had to take what he gave me.

  9. I spent this morning/afternoon calling several CS offices and driving to 5 different physical CS offices to talk in person and none of them would do it, or they wanted to do a medical first and wouldn't take the instructions saying I don't need another one. My plan is to send in my DS3025 that is completed (the box that says "US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (requesting a blank Waiver)" was checked off), and send in my immunization history from my previous family doctor back home.

Also, for a job back home I had to have TB skin test and a Hep B test done, which happened in April, a few months before I moved to the US (July 29)... should I include those documents a supporting evidence as well?

I do not have an original Form I-639 unless the doctor I saw for my visa medical did one?

I will also include a cover letter with an explanation of why we don't have the I-639?

  10. Hey turns out I do have the DS3025, I think I will submit that with an explanation saying I cannot find a civil surgeon in my area that will fill out part 3 of the 639, and send in my vaccination record as well with the receipt of the medical payment that it was done. Hopefully that is enough. No civil surgeon that is listed on the USCIS will tough this form:(, they all want me to have a physical done by them despite showing them it is not needed.

  11. I didn't get a G3025, everything was in the packet I got that I could not open and gave to the border agents. I did not get anything back, the agent said he had to send it somewhere or do something else. I have vaccination records from home but it's not on any US forms for anything.

Since the medical report was in the packet, do they send it off anywhere? Do I have to still send in anything medical?

  12. Hi all,

Not sure if I am in the right forum topic but I am trying to post this through my phone. I tried looking for a few of these questions, but didn't have much luck or was sent in a few circles, especially when it came to the government sites. I have a few questions and need some clarifications as I have entered the U.S. on my K-1 and got married, and am now looking to file my AOS.

    1) When I submit the Form I-485, am I missing any accompanying documents that should be with it? So far I have a copy of my birth certificate, copy of K-1 visa, 2 passport photos, copy of marriage certificate, and a copy of my I-94 Arrival/Departure document.

*** 2) Do I need my full medical examination record or just vaccination report to accompany my I-485 as I am not sure that I have all of that?

    3) Can I make the payments all on one check or do they have to be separate? And do I include payment for the biometrics even though I have to wait for them to get back to me on that?

    4) Here are the forms I will be submitted as well as the associated feesI am looking at fees, am I wrong on any of them?:

    I-485 $985 (form), $85 (biometrics),

*I-765 No fee as I am filing it with I-485

*I-131 No fee as I am filing it with I-485

    I-864 No fee

    G-1145 No fee

    G-325A No fee
