  1. Hi guys, so I have a question here. We filed our application of K1 visa this past August 16 and got our NOA2 already. We are just getting ready for the interview and that we have two red flags. We have a significant age gap of 29 years and that we have just been talking for 7 months now. We have seen each other twice. Both of us has never been married and no criminal records either. So my main concern is about the age difference, would they question that and the length of time that we have been dating? We just want to start our life together-together. Thank you all

P.S. Would it make our chances of getting approved higher if he comes to the interview with me?

It is definitely a red flag and so is the length of courtship. Not that i am trying to discourage you guys but stick to the truth and have him come over for the K1 interview.you shall be together.

  2. Question is simple,

Looking for N400 filers who are from IL, Filed at Phoenix , did their Bio at STL or chicago ? where did you guys have or going to have your N400 interview ? Does people with STL as their local field office will have the interview in STL which is just a ASC but conducts interview or will that be in Chicago ? STL is my ASC and my bio was done here every time (AOS,ROC and N400) but my AOS interview was at chicago. please keep in mind that STL, MO serves some counties of IL. Sorry for short hand. Have a good one .

  3. Dear ydaoc, your question is confusing. if i understood it right. there is no possible answer to ' if the government will believe you or not '. you guys need to have a marriage certificate anyways if you are adjusting your status or K1.i did mine while i was on B2. there is a provision for that. of course, every case varies. my point is , if i understood you right that you are trying to adjust your status while in US ? right ? if yes , i think you will be okay. again , do not look for answers you want to hear. talk to people who went through this. this is a excellent community to do so.

  4. No, they do it because he/she is your representative, regardless of whether you are eligible to vote or not it is their job to represent you.

In fact the number of representatives your State has compared to other states is based on the US Census count every ten years. That count includes all persons, citizens, perm residents, undocumented aliens, visitors, prisoners in the jail, minors, etc.

It is their constitutional duty to represent you.

Now, how effective they are, that is another subject.

that is some interesting information . thank you

  5. Yes they will help. A Senator sees someone who they have assisted on the path to citizenship as a vote to remain in office. Many Senators even have pages on their website with forms for submitting issues people are having with USCIS.

o yeah, interesting. so they do it for the vote bank not that they have to by the US constitution.

  6. Unfortunately I didn't read the instructions for the i751 early enough and didn't commingle things back when we first got married. They have all been commingled in the past few months (as we were preparing for this process). Now I'm nervous that they will send us a RFE because they will think we don't have sufficient evidence. I'm planning to send the package tomorrow...

    We have:

Joint account with nationwide bank (since marriage but very rarely used - more of a savings account for emergencies)

Joint account with local bank (for the past few months)

    Joint health insurance (since marriage)

Beneficiaries on health, life, retirement, etc. (for the past few months)

Affidavits from next door neighbors (since marriage)

Affidavit from my direct supervisor (since marriage)

    We don't have:

Joint lease/mortgage (my parents and I own the property 50/50 and have for years and would have to refinance - which we just did before my husband came to the states - which is not necessary at this time - my husband does contribute to the equity though)...we did include a letter stating this

Joint car insurance (my husband walks to work and has never had a need for a driver's license)

Lengthy statements from bank accounts that we share

Joint credit cards...he's been denied credit cards because he doesn't have credit (he's an authorized user on one card)

A will (was told that it would cost $600 when we have very few assets...we'd rather use the money for a vacation!)

Anyone ever have an experience like this? This process has been very easy for us so far..and now I'm super nervous. Thanks!

Do not forget to attach Tax returns and W-2's etc. that is a must have

  7. Hi guys,

i was wandering. I am currently living in the U.S and nearing the final stages of my Adjustment of Status. I Went for my biometrics 2 weeks ago and everything was fine. when i got home i threw my clothes in the washing machine and it had my passport in my shorts!! i am worried now that this will affect the final stages of my Adjustment of status. My passport is still intact and the I.D page is still readable, but you can tell that it was once water damaged. my K1 visa is looking a little worse for wear. can someone give me some advice on what i should do? I'm worried that if i have to interview for my green card i will need a new passport.

Why do not you try with Australian consulate for a replacement for the damaged pp just to be on the safer side.

  8. Phoenix cis. St Louis MO dont treat Naturalization application. Phoenix,Dallas and nebraska service center does. i was asking anyone in phoenix that has gone through the service center to share their exPhonperience both present and past fillers please

that is incorrect, Phoenix lockbox and STL, MO ASC do process N400. there are multiple VJer's who have gone through the there and i am also in line here.

  10. So my N400 was delivered on Friday sept 18 in the morning. As of yet I have not received a notification (it is end of day Sept 21)

How long does it take them to let you know they got your stuff?

If I do look in my email junk folder, what should I look for?

    Thank you

i am just a little ahead from you. i got the notice of receipt within one week and the Biometric notice the following week and i am currently waiting for my date of bio.this is usually true for everyone.

  11. I m looking for a joint sponspor we don't find .

you guys need to figure out how much more money do you need . for that first step will be how many people are dependent on the petitioner or in this case your husband. there are governmental guidelines you both will have to satisfy just to make sure that the new immigrant would be taken care(monetarily) by the petitioner and the US government will have not pay for the new immigrant's expenses.like healthcare costs etc.so lets say you are two people and your husband do not have any other dependents but you, in that scenario for him to successfully sponsor you . he will need to be making $15,930/year (http://aspe.hhs.gov/2015-poverty-guidelines).like other people advised you to find someone to sign an affidavit for the govt jointly with your husband stating that you will not be charge on federal or state govt. the other person need to be a US resident and could be anyone from your husband's family, your family, any friend etc. if you still do not get the process, it will better for you to pay for a lawyer.

  12. Hi all,

I had my interview 2 days ago and it didn't go well. I was applying under a 5-year rule since I got a divorce a couple of years ago. The officer wanted to see the evidence of viable marriage for the year after ROC. Since I didn't have any evidence with me (no guides nor their letters said to bring those) the officer said that it's fine and he asked me to mail him:

    - letter explaining why we got separated (still painful to talk about it, but at least I can write it),

    - tax returns for the years after ROC (easy),

    - lease agreement (my copy doesn't have my own or my ex-husband's signature, it only has a signature of the landlord, so I hope it won't be a problem),

    - bank statements. Here is the problem: after we closed an account our bank was bought by another bank, and this new bank doesn't have a record of our account. The new bank can produce a letter stating it, which I'm planning to send.

Now I'm thinking about the quality of my proofs and if I need to find something else instead of bank statements.

Do you think it would be enough?

If not, do you have any suggestions of the other evidence I can send?

We didn't have any children together. We didn't buy any property together. We didn't have joint insurance. We didn't have any bills other than from a water delivery company (I will check if they have our invoices).

Hey,How about getting some affidavits from your guy's common friends or your ex in laws or relatives (if possible). stating everything was in good faith and its just did not work out.
