A lawyer can set his or her own timeline. They are independent. There is no law or requirement to have it done in a set time period. 
 
With that being said, you can do it yourself as fast as you are able to. I have read people having it done in 1 day. Just because you have a lawyer doesn't mean it will go faster. And sometimes lawyers even cause delays.

Today my fiancee had her K1 interview in Moscow. She was denied a VISA under Section212(a)(6)©(1). The "eligible to apply for a waiver" box was not checked.
Background: last year she hired someone to make her first ever tourist visa application. This guy invented a four year job in Moscow for her, and put it on her application. She was denied for insufficient resources/ties to Russia.
When she wrote forms for our K1 Visa she used the same fake work history, thinking that consistency was more important than the truth, despite our conversation the night before about it.
Is there any was forward for us in the USA? Get married in Russia, and apply again? I-601 waiver? Some other process?

Congrats on getting to the interview phase! There are two approved locations for your wife to get her medical exam, Akai House Clinic and Holy Trinity Medical Center. The medical exam will cost around $400, but could vary based on if your wife needs vaccines. When my husband (fiancé at the time) went for his exam it took about a week to get the results back. With her interview scheduled in about a month, she should schedule an appointment soon incase there is difficulty getting in or takes awhile to get the results back.
