  1. When you enter the US Embassy, you're not in your (homophobic) country anymore. You're on United States (de facto) territory. You can feel safe inside there and protected.

Just try to relax and understand that thousands of other people around the world who are in your exact situation (including same sex couples). If you're feeling really nervous, try to do a "mock interview" with your spouse, think about the hardest/most difficult questions that may come up in the interview.

Thank you very much for your answer.

YEah I know that embassy is considered a US territory, however most of the workers there are still locals...

We are going to practice interview questions for sure, as soon as I get it scheduled.

  2. My CR1 interview is getting closer, and I am more and more afraid of it, and just don't know why... Maybe I am afraid of being denied, or maybe that I will not be treated well, cause we are a gay couple living in a quite homophobic country.

On the other hand I have nothing to hide , our relationship is 100% genuine, and we are together for 7 years...

Any idea how to calm down, and get that bad feelings go away? :(

  3. Well for us they did a good job, cause we triple checked our petition before sending it out to them, being sure that everything is OK, but they have found 3-4 obvious mistakes, that could get us an RFE. So that's aroung 2 months of saved time. Now we are on NVC stage, and again they found couple of mistakes in our package.

And of course the most convenient feature is that they are offering payment plan, so anyone on tight budget can use it. We make 6 payments of 190$ during 6 months for USCIS Fee and their fee.

You will need to pay NVC fees later during the process.

But once again, majority of the petitioners did everything on their on, it's up to you to decide.

  4. I am confused here...

my case got approved at Sep 12th

I got snail mail about NOA2 and it says they did send my case to NVC, however when I checked app, it still stay in the status "case was approved"

so what is the situation? our case is still in Nebraska Service Center or is on they way to NVC??

also, I can't check my case on the USCIS' website!!why???!! :crying:

If the app says that Case was approved, then it's still at the Service Center. You will get an update when they sent it to NVC.

It took 25 days for my case to be sent to the NVC after the approval.

  5. I'm not sure to be honest. I don't really know what to think. I was told this morning by another VJ member, that he called USCIS NSC and they said they're working on cases from February. My PD is April 7... I was really thinking that I'd be approved by now or hear something on my case.... but I just need to relax and be patient. Hopefully we will be approved soon within this month.

I'm praying for your quick approval!
