captmaximus got a reaction from Madison S. in Calling NVC / What to Ask...
As someone else already mentioned the fact that sometimes the NVC never sends out a letter at all... for me it was peace of mind and being able to track the progress with the case number.
I called last night and after dialing about 30 times and being on hold for 45 minutes got a hold of a rep who proceeded to give me our case number and the date the petition was received. Our case took 12 days from being forwarded by TSC to NVC assigning us a case number.
As everyone else on these forum have suggested, every time you dial the number there's an automated message that comes on saying that due to the large number of calls they cannot get to you at this point and to call back later. Keep calling until you get in and then wait for someone to answer the phone. Good luck!

captmaximus got a reaction from PilsenC in Venezuelan Visa
This is great information and thank you very much for sharing it.
It's kind of ridiculous to ask for this much information just to allow US Citizens to travel to Venezuela; no one on their right mind (no offense) would plan to travel and stay there for good.

captmaximus got a reaction from Pitaya in Questions about Package 3
Item #18 is simply having to choose your desired DHL location where your documents will be delivered once the Buenos Aires embassy approves your petition.
Item #8 you mention is simple.. consulate location is Buenos Aires and the date and time would be listed on a letter from the NVC which gets sent to you once they approve your petition and forward it to the corresponding embassy.
Have you received this letter?
You don't have a timeline so it's difficult to tell where you are with the K1 process.

captmaximus got a reaction from heo luoi in Birth Certificate ?????
This is information copied directly from the pinned subject K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
What about birth certificates, some people have trouble getting them? This is a problem for us also. Some people, especially our younger staff, think all the world is like the USA. I remember one, when I was in the Kansas City office, the beneficiary was from Viet Nam, she was born in 1954 there was no birth certificate. The CO asked me about this and I looked at the file. I said "Do you know what was going on in Viet Nam in 1954?" She looked at me, straight faced and said "What, their computers were down?" If a birth certificate cannot be obtained they can usually get something from a church, a village official, something, and send that with a letter of explanation. Or just their passport and a letter explaining the situation (this applies to AOS more than I-129f as beneficiary birth certificate is not required for the petition, but I wanted to ask anyway, it seems a common question here)

If you are above the 125% poverty line and won't be using a co-sponsor then it's safe to leave it blank.

captmaximus got a reaction from NikLR in Should I start over?
Whatever you decide to do DO NOT send in another I-129F application under any circumstances as this will add confusion on top of everything else.

captmaximus got a reaction from Duniqman in K1 Visa
Depending on where your application ends up you can see the approximate timelines here... http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/
Also, if you fille out your own timeline that would give you a rough estimate of how long you can expect to wait.
Best of luck!
