  1. Welcome!
I don't know what its like in California but with my experience, I took the CNA classes + clinicals (duty) for one month & 1 week. It was a good way to experience American hospitals. Filipino and American hospitals are vastly different. America is of course more advanced that our work in the Philippines is actually much harder since we do most things manually. This was my choice, my husband whom I'm petitioning already passed the NCLEX and will go right into working in a hospital as an RN when he arrives and adjusted.
You should research around schools whats best for you, volunteer in hospitals is also a great experience to have.
Good luck to you too ! Don't hesitate to ask any questions ;)

  2. thank you!,

actually happened really fast, her plane landed at 6:30am and she was all done and through by 7:20.

good luck to all of you! I cant wait for everyone to feel what i feel right now. relief. One more flight and shes home

I can't wait to feel what you feel either!

To me seeing my husband on American ground will be the end to this long journey!

My husband will be landing at LAX with a 3 hour layover. I'm worried he could miss his next flight... Hopefully his POE interview (or whatever) is fast too.

  3. My source is Visajourney... many Phillipinos have come on here and found their USCIS applications going through within a month. Auto expedite even without a request..

    Let me post some links

Not true. Our case was in USCIS for about 6 months. We filed in July 2015 and hubby has his interview Aug 15. I hope its true when they say the interview is fast and easy because I'm missing my husband

  4. I totally get and tolerate the OP's values. I also totally don't get the culture where a woman is shamed for her sexuality. If he wants to save himself for marriage great. If he can't live with a woman who didn't he should find someone else.

I agree that he should divorce the girl. He wasn't shaming her he was probably shocked about her not being a virgin. He lives in America wanting to marry from his country for the same culture and values he holds dear.

  5. I can see OP's anger over the virgin part, if in fact she told him that she was a virgin. In certain cultures it is extremely important to save yourself for your future spouse. If she told him she was a virgin, and lied, that would be a huge issue for me. Not so much the virgin part, but more the fact that is a big lie, and to know I was saving myself for someone who lied to me, and is giving it up to random guys, I can see the frustration here! Not to mention the marriage is already being based off of lies. OP, my best advice to you, talk to her. Lay it all out on the line. Either she wants to be with you or she doesn't, there's no in between. As bad as you may want this to work, you can't make her make it work. Find someone who loves you, and meets your expectations, or you will never be happy. Neither of you will. Good luck!

Great point! I was getting really annoyed of maria&seve's replies.

I don't understand why some people can't understand/tolerate OP's values, beliefs, and culture practices. Goes straight to stabbing. Ugh.

  6. I think your biggest problem is if your case file is sent to the embassy on time for the interview you scheduled. I know of a recent incidence that a spouse was turned away at the embassy for an earlier interview because NVC hadn't sent the case file yet, so they were forced to wait until the original date that NVC scheduled for them. I don't know if they would expedite your case, but you can try calling NVC once you get your case complete and explain to them the situation.

I may have made a big mistake, but maybe it will be alright. For background see this forum thread about our situation: http://www.visajourn...et-visa-in-hand I was told by several people that for the Manila embassy that you could schedule your embassy interview as soon as you get you NVC MNL number. That you also could sign up on-line with SLEC and go for your medical without waiting for NVC letter. What people did't make sure to tell me was that is only for K-1 visas, not CR-1. My fault for not truly fully checking. I called the embassy number and asked if I could set up an interview because our son is starting Kindergarten at the end of August and wanted to get a slot to get him to school as soon as we could so he would not miss as much. The lady at the embassy was accommodating and set the interview. I found out after that what I did might not work. That the CO might not accept us that day and may make us come back on the day NVC scheduled. I hope it works because I bought plane tickets already. We can only pray now. My wife did go to SLEC early. She really wanted to get cleared in case she got a positive to do the Sputum test which you have to wait 2 months for the results. Everything was OK though and no sptum test required, I hope I answered your questions. Kevin

This just happened to my hubby. Ok n june 25 when NVC told us our interview Aug 15 I didn't want to wait long. So I signed up at the website and schedualed for July 25. My husband showed up but couldn't get interviewed because they didn't receive his file yet ?

  7. Hey I studied in the Philippines as a USC. Was it hard to get a student visa? Wouldn't the overstaying fees be more expensive than just applying for student visa?
