Haha that's awesome Gobucks! I hope you guys hung out in Vegas too
Ha. We didn't actually. I was heading out there with friends. But, of course we ran into each other upon return.

So on the lighter side of all this, how did everyone meet their better half?
Here's our story:
I met my husband a little over 2 years ago while I was working a Horror Movie Convention in FL and he was a attending the convention as a guest. He just kept staring at me and I was like does this guy need something, is he lost lol. He finally came up to me and the first words he ever said to me was "If I had an engagement ring, I would propose to you right now". We chatted a bit and he left, I never got his a name or anything. All night I was wondering who he was and kicking myself for not even getting a name! The next day I had off from work and went to the convention in hopes to find this "mystery" man again out of the 1,000 of people. And sure enough I turned a corner in one of the hallways and me and my husband literally slammed right into each other, I got his name and he said great to see you and we went our separate ways. Then a little while later again I went into a room and turned a corner and bam, we slammed into each other again! It was like fate, like the universe was putting us together for a reason. I listened to these signs and talked to him, we hung out the whole day and been together ever since. He did eventually propose and May will be our 1 year wedding anniversary.
Met on a flight from Orlando to Las Vegas.

Haha right! I leave 3 weeks from Wednesday to go support the man, 1 day after my birthday! Not sure what to do for 3 weeks either besides double and triple check all the documents/photos I am bringing with me. I think this waiting is the worse part out of this whole experience so far lol.
Ha. I've done this about 20 times now. I think I am good to go!

I leave for my interview 2 weeks from tomorrow. Apparently I'm not keeping myself busy enough. Lol.
-
I just brought copies
I'll be interested to see when you get your passport back. Hopefully this week.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant to bring TO THE MEDICAL. On the site it says to obtain the vac/medical records to bring to your medical. Also do you need passport style photos for Medical as well?
I didn't have any records so I just went to a walk-in clinic and had the shots, except for the chicken pox. If you had chicken pox as a child but no records they will take your word for it. I used Dr. M in Toronto for the medical. They only needed one passport photo.

Hey all, I have a question regarding the P4, if a document has a 'Y' next to it (indicating that it was sent to the Embassy/consulate) do we need to bring that document to the Interview? Thanks in advance.
I'm bringing everything as well. I have it anyway, so I may as well bring it.

So once people have their interview dates scheduled, how long have y'all been waiting to get the written confirmation/instructions from NVC?
Usually the following day.

So far all the reviews I read from Montreal no one has been there for more than 2 hours or so, maybe 2 1/2 if they are a little on the busy side. Gobucks I am putting in the request now, nice guy with glasses handles both of our interviews and hands out nothing but approvals!
Haha. Nice! I like the way you think...

So awesome!! lol hopefully my husband will get the same CO. I have read other friendly reviews about him. Thank you for the info. T-minus 27 days until ours and hopefully we get the same ecstatic results! Enjoy your time with the wife on your visit.
Wow! That is in and out very fast. I wonder if the CO is random that day, or they know ahead of time which CO has which applicants.

Nope - didn't ask me. I know the couple that went up just before me, the petitioner tried to go up with her for the interview part, and he was asked to go sit back down.
Gotcha. Thanks.

I've heard if they are jam-packed they only allow the Canadian in (which makes sense). I've heard you have to call and request the American spouse to join, also. Then I have heard they aren't allowed altogether. Just confusing, does it say on the interview letter?
Interview letter only says the applicant is required to be there, and mentions nothing about the petitioner.
-
Yeah, they do let them in. There were quite a few there when I was at my interview. They also have the American Citizen Services booth in the same room as the immigrant visa stuff (just on the other side of the room).
While the petitioner can go with you, they cannot go up to the interview booth with the beneficiary. Having your spouse there would probably make the wait time easier to handle.
Do they ask if your spouse is there with you?
-
Thanks, I will when I have a few extra moments! Please let me (us) know when you get your interview letter! (:
And do you know what the truth is, can the American spouse join the Canadian one? I have heard many different answers.
From what I understand, they will let the American spouse join in Montreal as long as they have their passport with them. I heard if they get too packed inside the embassy, then they may not allow them in. But, for the most part, they are allowed and do get in.

I have a while to wait. I thought I would be lucky enough to get an April interview latest early May but having to wait another 100+ days is depressing. I was hoping the day when I saw my 3rd N/A would have been my C/C date.
When I called on February 01 the representative told us it was complete. So why did it take that long to send us the email?
I am sorry. It's just that everytime we think we are just about done with NVC there is another hurdle of long waits.
It was complete on the 1st. You can start counting from that date. The email always comes a week later.
-
We recieved an email hours after but it only said to take ds260 and interview letter. I was expecting the specific letter codes and what they wanted.
Hmmm...did you get all 4 pages?
-
When will we be getting our P4 interview letter that shows what they want you to take to the interview??
I received mine the day after they scheduled the interview.

thank you for getting back to me so quickly ,but i allready had my cc from the nvc and i had interview date set for 25 feb but the consulate in montreal cancelled my date because they asked for a few more documents ,now i am waiting for them to review those docs and then to see if i get a new date
I see. Unfortunately there is no way to know. If you call them, they just tell you that you are in AP and to wait a little longer. Can be frustrating.

does anyone know how it takes for ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING AT THE US CONSULATE IN MONTREAL ? PLEASE HELP ME ! having anxiety attacks like crazy .i had an appointment for february 25,2016 ,but they cancelled it ,because they needed 2 documents ,my NOTICE OF DECISION letter from Canada Immigration and they asked for a valid TRAVEL DOCUMENT .i sent them the first one ,but the second one i cannot because i am a STATELESS PERSON and do not possess a travel doc .passport or anything ,so my lawyer sent them the Legal Statute by The US State Dept stating they can Waive the travel doc requiremnts .but they say its in Administrative Processing .Does Anyone Know the answer PLEASE HELP ? We are filing IR-5
Nobody ever knows how long AP takes, unfortunately. Attorneys don't know, either. Your case is rather unique, so you may need some legal help on this one.

Travel safe, Montreal is having some nasty weather today. My husband flies out from Montreal at 5:30 am for a quick 4 day visit, hoping his plane isn't delayed.
Now I'm starting to get fired up!

Almost time to board my flight for Montreal!
