I decided to call the NVC myself to find out why my husbands case is taking so long. And I find out that his case is in the "Termination process".
How did I let myself leave my husbands case in the hands of a lawyer??
Gladly that man I was on the phone with at NVC re-opened my husbands case. He went on to tell me that he emailed the lawyers office last year in August, but had never received a reply.
So, now, within a week he will send me an email of a list of documents thay need to my email account.... and also the email will be sent to our laywer office....
Not to mention, "the lawyer office" (
), or "one of the ladies who took our case"; she NEVER gave me detailed information on my husbands case status. I checked up with her every month and/or two about our case status. And all she every told me was either "wait", "until the consulate sends an email on when the interview date is then ill emailed you", and other simple non-detailed information. She never metioned our case was in the Process of Termination or that our case is not even complete or even about to be terminated. And that we will even have to pay the fees all over again.
I dont even know how I am going to speak to the lady at the laywers office.... How do I even began to start the phone conversation?? How? I am so annoyed and shocked.
Someone in the VisaJourney website help us. Please

farlovenear,
i called NVC ealiers today.... My husbands case was in the "termination files". I told the man that our laywer was suppose to be handling our case. He said that he sent an email to the laywers office of Aug 2014 and that he never got a response from anyone.
so, that man at the NVC asked if i wanted to re-open my husbands case and i said 'yes'......

yeah im about to. thank you.
-
did you use a laywer?
-
well, the only things the lady who has my husbands case is that she is waiting for the consulate to have an open slot for his interview.
-
i am a united states citizen.
-
we started everything in june 2013. and on the case status says that june 2014 his i130 was approved. but barely paid affidavit and visa app fees in Nov 2014....
-
ey,
its for my husband, hes mexican citizen. the lawyer just tells us to keep waiting until theres an open slot....
-
hi @farlovenear,
how long did you wait for an interview date?
i paid the affidavit and visa app keys last year in Nov 2014. and we still waiting for a interview date.
-
Hello.
I have been waiting for an open slot for an interview ever since I paid my lawyers associate the Affidavit and Visa fees in Nov 2014. And Ive been checking with the lawyers office since then and they still havent got an open slot.... The laywer just tells me that no interview sheduled yet. She did say that we wont have to wait another whole year.
To get to the point; does it really take this long when waiting for an interview date at the Consulate Juarez?
-
yeah, i emailed the BIA in hopes to answering my question about the length of our waiting period. so, now, im wait for a reply..
-
i always make sure everything is on time. but, i figured ´thats why i got a lawyer...., to help me with my case. now, it obviously doesnt seem that way. so, im call nvc, now.
-
i called the lady (at lawyers office) yesterday. i asked if itll take a year more and she told me less than a year. and to see what happens in one to three months from now............... so, well just keep waiting.
-
ugh i dont know....
i did not contact no congress or senator person.
im just going by what the person who has our case at the lawyers office.
-
yeah, i paid that in nov 2014 to the lawyer to send out. i just called to the lawyers office and they told me that nvc is backed up. so, it will be awhile until they get and opening for an interview date.
but, i guess we can keep waiting.
-
last time i tried to get info about my husbands case i got an email reading that they sent the info to our lawyer.... so, i just started calling my lawyer for info. but they lady at the lawyers office isnt in today. so im call her tomorrow.
because in nov 2014 i gave her the IVAP Fee AoS Fee. I have no idea how much longer we will have to wait for an interview at a consulate.
-
what does IR/CR1 mean?
-
No, im a u.s. citizen. oh and my i797 says july 29, 2013 as my priority date. Also, my i797c has no priority date.
-
i dont even know what a ´Priority Date´even is or what that means for my husbands case.

.... it just shocks me that the information im getting from the lawyers office and from the NVC are nothing close to us waiting for an interview date. im just shocked and mad. i just want my life in u.s.a. to be with my husband and our eight month daughter.
i filled out a form in the Consulate Juarez website to see If my husbands case is with them.... just like the lawyers office tells me. Than, If not? .... The lady at the lawyer office is lying....
I dont know but Im wait for a reply from the Consulate Juarez. And thats five or ten days from now.
But, thank you guys for your advice and stories; they help out a lot. I wouldnt have called the NVC if it wasnt for you people in visajourney
