  1. I hope June will be the month for the NVC to schedule my husband's interview.

    (NVC 2016)

    04-APR-16

    Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicants visa application.

NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first-out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.

When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassys interview requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

    · He or she is more than 16 years old;

    · The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

    · He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.

The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the embassy has issued a visa.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

    Case Number: CDJ2014******

    Beneficiary's Name: JOSE

    Preference Category: IR1

    Priority Date: 08-SEP-14

  3. If I had found this community before I got a lawyer I'm sure things would have went different.

So, I did call the lawyers office, asked for an update, and asked if this really takes long; she gave me a reason. First, she said that she forgot to forward me the email exposing the hold up. Second, I was told that the embassy officers fill up their interview slots quickly. And, yeah.

She finally sent the email. And the priority date on the email reads - Priority Date: Sept 2014. The receipts back in 2013 read differently. Yet, it is my husbands name on the letter.

So, I'm sticking to the Sept 2014 priority date.

  4. Last time I called NVC I was told our case was terminated due to no contact since a year. Second, last time I contacted Juarez Embassy I was told they were unable to release info unless I was the lawyer. Third, the lawyers associate says everything is fine to just wait for her to get a response from the embassy. Fourth, I think its unfair if I have to restart and repay all the fees all over again. Also, What If, What If, the embassy is just Probably "backed-up"....

I'm going to call the lawyers office again, but the only question I politely ask is "Do you have any updates on our case?".
