  1. thank u jay

so ya, my join sponsor is retired,

so is the 1099 and the income taxe returns are anough for the affidavit of support ??????

I'm not completely sure how they judge if your joint sponsor can continue to sponsor the beneficiary if they become public burden. I think they have to look at the primary sponsors steady income and add to any income from joint sponsor and if that is not above poverty level, then maybe any assets from joint sponsor would help to convince government that joint sponsor can comfortably support bef. if necessary.

Don't hesitate to call nvc and ask. This is just my guess. Maybe someone with joint sponsor can give input

  2. Hi Vjers !!!

I dont remember where I read about NVC taking 20 days to review the cases...

So, we have to count those days since NVC receives our package with allllll the supporting and civil documents?

We just paid the fee US$ 325 and is still In Process...praying to have it as paid and let us fill the DS 260 !

Yep, if they say they got it, start counting from that date :)

    hello

are the from 1099 and the w2 the same ???

Nope, 1099 is for independent contractors, w2 is for normal employees

  3. Need help Saylin, anyone!!

    NEED HELP!!!!

My joint sponsor just called me today and said that he cannot send his updated tax returns for the year 2014 since he has a further extension on his tax returns because of some reasons and is asking me if his son can sponsor me? Of all the #$#$#Q$$ things that could go wrong! :@

His son makes a healthy amount almost 100K so what do i do now? do i call the NVC? Do i call the embassy? Or do i just show up with the new i-864 and tax returns at the interview?

Interview is on the 21st of September

Please help me guys! Freaking out right about now!

So how did you get to this point of having an interview date, without his 2014 tax info? According to nvc, this guy is still sponsor from the sound of it. This sounds like an immigration attorney or nvc agent needs to give their opinion based on experience. (If i was in your shoes, I'll call nvc and ask, then bring all original forms with original co-sponsor, unless nvc advises differently) Good luck!

  4. Hi everyone,

We have not heard anything back yet. I contacted my congressman's office and they said to give it 30 days for a response and if nothing, they will reach out and see what they can do.

Anyhow, something really weird happened today, hoping it's a positive sign!! I had seen a few days ago in the online account that my request from the InfoPass appointment had been assigned to an officer. When I saw that you had asked for an update I decided to log in and see if there was any other action. Well, our online account with USCIS is locked! So I can't get in. It says everything I am putting in is incorrect and I had to email them, which I just did. I know the answers to my security questions are correct, and that I am entering the correct password. So not sure if it's just some weird glitch or if it means something! When I enter the case number on the general case status page it says the same message it's been saying since February though.

Mine also locked out but i think it was me forgetting the password which caused lock of account.

That's weird, why shouldn't they just look into it now? Did you insist on looking into it now? If it was me, I might not let them talk me into another 30 day wait period.

  5. Just a little update. My DS-261 is showing paid. How long before the IV become available for payment? Also is it better to send the AOS and IV packages separate or together?

You have to send both packages together as ONE package, with the document cover sheet from the receipt of AOS fee, or from the welcome letter.

IV becomes available as soon as you can get them to review your 261 over phone or you can wait 15 days or something like that.

  6. Good Morning, Everyone.

How long after you paid the IV fee did the DS 260 open up and did you receive an email about ?

Also a rep confirmed on Monday my packets were received but I haven't gotten an email- should i call back?

On the same day that the IV fee showed PAID for me, the 260 was available in the evening for me. Didn't get an email about it. Didn't get email documents being reviewed until after i submitted the 260, but it could be a coincidence. My timeline events were close together. I don't think an email is necessary if they confirmed they have documents.

  7. Just to make clarity on all the I-864 confusion and when the new forms come in to play (sorry if this has already been posted).

    From uscis,gov http://www.uscis.gov/i-864

07/02/15. (Starting 10/06/15, USCIS will only accept the 07/02/15 edition. Until then, you can use the 03/22/13 edition.) The edition date can be found at the bottom of the page on the Form and Instructions

    Same goes for I864EZ

    http://www.uscis.gov/i-864ez

They already advise using the new version

  8. I checked the CEAC site at maybe 8:00 pm and it still said PAID.....at 11:00 pm checked again just for the heck of it, and it changed to N/A......I surprisingly got through to NVC just now at 11:22pm and confirmed its official, she told me it was just completed, I'm done with NVC.......WOW!!!!!! Mailed on the 8/15..... Received 8/17 and Scanned 8/17.....9/2...CASE COMPLETE.

Thank you so much....keep praying you will get yours too....No this was my first calling.

Congratz!!! Happy for you!! We'll get there soon

  9. I think we can all make a case for financial loss, although i might call it an investment. :)

Clarification: I meant "financial loss" for visiting my wife every 3 months. ;) If anything, i would like to plead with the consulate to expedite the interview date, not sure if that will be necessary. Just thinking ahead

Hoping all of us can spend Thanksgiving and/or Christmas with our loved ones this year!

  10. Thanks for the reply. No the screen is exactly the same as it was before, there's no amount and no check box either to be able to select that fee. I have tried on Chrome and Edge ad my husband uses Firefox but none of them are any different.

In that case, I would suggest checking throughout the day. It took at least 12-24 hr for me..2-3 days for others i hear. call at the end of the day if it doesn't show up

  11. Well we got our IV fee finally last night after having to call on Monday and do the DS261 over the phone. However, it's still not allowing us to pay online. Is that usually the case or is it worth calling them back?

If you see the amount and its not letting you select the fee or some technical issue, try to use a different browser. E.g. internet explorer, safari, etc. Whichever you haven't tried

  12. We are still waiting on our petition approval. We got transferred to CSC from VSC. Just got the transfer letter in the mail on Saturday. I tried to do an inquiry, but have to wait an additional 5 - 6 months before I can do that at least online. Not quite sure if my case has physcially arrived at CSC yet.

Glad to see that everyone is moving quite quickly through the NVC process. God Bless!

Hopefully you will hear update this week, keep calling and don't let up. Tell them the 5months period has already passed. If you don't get results this week, i would recommend scheduling an infopass appt to make them do an inquiry. God bless!

  13. Hey everyone! I have a quick question: when it comes to Financial Documents, hubby has to fill in the Affidavit of Support. Can he use i-864EZ if he worked for the past 3 years abroad? He doesn't have the W-2 form, requested at question 1b :/ but does have all the tax transcripts. Thanks!

If ALL 3 conditions are met, you can use 864ez:

    "1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

    2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and

    3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal

Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers."

However, it may be BEST to ask an NVC agent who can better assess your situation. There are some agents who can really help with this

Also, tax transcripts can be submitted instead of w2's.

  14. Any updates from butterflies0124, or any other feb filers awaiting petition approval??

Yes! You are close too. I just can't wait for the good news from NVC.

Btw, my husband called NVC regarding the 'full time employee' as job title. The rep said it's not a big deal for them and we don't need to send any revision. Hopefully she was sober when she said that. :content:

Lol,. That's good news, i wonder if they had similar thoughts when they saw the title he put :P
  15. Hello everyone I am trying to call USCIS to verify whether our file has been sent to the NVC on this number 18003755283, i'm calling from the Eastern Caribbean. I am not able to get through to speak to a customer service rep. The option that I am getting says to call back between the hours of 8am and 6pm, it is already after 9am in my country. Anyone has any idea whether it is because of a time difference I am unable to get through, what time would it be suggested to call? Thanks appreciate any responses.

Which options are you selecting? I think customer service (ncsc) should be available by now. Did you try calling back? At first they state their hours, but this doesn't mean they're not available on line.
