  1. No. I haven’t touched it at all. Nothing has changed either. Should I skim through it and resubmit it? I just hope this doesn’t start the DQ process all over again and this time he’d age out. Should I even resubmit it or just let it sit like that until his PD is current than contact the embassy? Because he currently is locked in under 21 (F2A).
  2. Hi, Can someone help me understand why the “IV Application” (DS-260) now shows a status of “Re-Opened”? LPR filed for her son. Kid turned 21 (including CSPA age he’s 21). However before he turned 21, mom had paid all IV fee’s submitted AOS docs, completed DS-260, had his interview at the embassy, etc. but was placed in AP. F2A retrogressed (his PD is still not current) - and now that I check the CEAC status it shows the Re-Opened status. see screen shot - that’s what it is. No other messages or emails or contact. Any ideas?
  3. Hi, PD: 01/15/2023 (Case Expedited and approved 02/05/2023) DQ: 02/25/2023 Interview Date: 03/29/2023 Applicants DOB: 12/20/2002 Case was sent to admin processing, which was cleared just a few days later. Unfortunately F2A went into retrogression. Applicant is now 21. However - is applicants age LOCKED in to "under 21 years" old F2A case? Or is she going to be bumped to F2B? Checking CEAC and it was even "touched" just yesterday. CEAC Login page still shows FX2 as the category. Thank You
  4. Hi, I filed an F2A (unmarried child of LPR) case. My daughter had her interview 03/30 and was given DS-5535 to complete. We completed it the same day and submitted it. Now that F2A has retrogressed I thought we would have to wait for her PD to become current. So is that not the case? Once she clears the DS-5535, will she be issued a visa or will she have to wait for her PD to become current?
  5. Hi, Are you 100% sure about this? I filed an F2A (unmarried child of LPR) case.
  6. Sallam Bro I’m certain your Afghan - I am too (Apologies if I’m wrong) My case is also pending at Islamabad. Based on what ground did you request expedite with Humanitarian? Can you be more clear and tell me exactly? Feel free to message me directly in inbox. PLEASE help me out. thank you!
  7. Yes. It was denied. strong sponsor, strong case, fee’s paid (no fee waiver). denied.
  8. What kind of evidence would be sufficient to prove mother-child relationship? Would the beneficiary’s birth certificate be sufficient?
  9. Hi! I'm helping a lady file I-130 for her 2 kids. One child is 20 and the other is 22. She is from Afghanistan and is an LPR. The 20 year old turns 21 in December of 2023. 1. Does the 20 year old actually have a chance of coming to the U.S. with F2A? There's literally an 11 month window. 2. USCIS will expedite for Afghans - however does NVC expedite cases? Would they expedite on the grounds of the child's age turning into an adult? 3. Was I correct to tell her the 22 year old will take about 8-10 years to get approved? 4. Is the beneficiary's birth certificate and passport sufficient evidence or should they get DNA testing done? Thank You
  10. Question: I-130 was filed but this question “has anyone else ever filed a petition for the beneficiary” Part 4 Question 10 Page5 Was marked as “no”. The petitioner now realizes she had applied for humanitarian parole for the beneficiary (which was denied). Would this cause a problem? Should they mention it when the interview comes?
  11. You’re right … though I should have mentioned this is for an Afghan. Afghans are currently exempt from the residency requirement. So … hence the question, can an LPR parent petition via DCF for a minor child?
  12. Hi, Are LPR’s allowed to DCF? Specifically a LPR parent petitioning for his/her underage/unmarried child through I-130.
  13. Hi, Is the joint sponsors original passport required at anytime during the process for petitioning for US Citizen parents? thanks
  14. I’ll edit my post. My wife is filing for her parents.
  15. Okay … I have a dilemma. I’m filing for my MIL & FIL, separate I-130’s. My FIL’s name on his marriage certificate and Passport are the same. However his name on my wife’s birth certificate is spelled with one letter off. for example: Stev and Steve (it’s a difference of one letter. It’s from Afghanistan and spelling is usually not the best there. Could I write an attestation about this? Or is this going to be a problem?
  16. Just to make sure - at NVC with the AOS package neither myself nor my wife HAVE to be the financial sponsor right? Because my brother plans to do the I-864/be their sponsor. Also the I-130 can now be done online from what I read. Is that the case? Any recommendations on if I should file paper or electronically? and do we send the originals or copies?
  17. thank you so much! Her oath just got scheduled for 2 weeks later. Yes I’m aware to not claim citizenship or vote until it’s done. but here’s my question … petition for parents SEEMS SO EASY!!!!!! Is it really the case??? for example, for my MIL all you need is my wife’s naturalization certificate, and my wife’s birth certificate listing her moms name?? (And obv her moms passport)??? also I remember I did a financial support (AOS package) when I brought my wife. is there still a financial requirement? Is it done during the NVC step?
  18. Hi, My wife just became a U.S. Citizen, we are waiting to the Oath Ceremony. I want to be ready for this when the time comes (we plan to apply for her parents ASAP when she gets her naturalization certificate) - both her mom and dad. Is there a thread to show the evidence/documents needed to apply (a nice full guide) for parents? If not, what evidence do we need to submit with the I-130? I remember when I did the I-130 for my wife (filing as a U.S. Citizen for my spouse for CR-1) I had to submit LOTS of evidence (phone call records, pictures, marriage certificate, etc.)
