Update: Crisis averted --> So it looks like my husband was also concerned about the fallout from this. It turns out he had a back up plan. He must have noticed that I seemed stressed and distant because the other night he told be that his cousin worked something out with some extended family here in the US. They will pick him up from the airport and take him in for the 10 days. I am relieved that it somehow worked itself out. I want to point out that I am not against hosting family members in the future when we have our own place and with advance notice. Thanks for the replies everyone.
