I just realized that my first case number works on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov like @gregcrs2 mentioned
But you'll receive another case number once you receive your biometrics notice.
If you read your extension letter it should say something like: "Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case online at www.uscis.gov. To view the status of your case, enter the application number found at the top of the ASC appointment notice. NOTE: The I-751 form type will be listed as "CRI89" under the application type in our case status on-line tool."
I ca't find the part on my letter "upon receipt of your ASC"

Where did you submitted your case? I sent it to California Service Center and I haven't received my biometrics app yet.

Is this the case number you received at first or the one you received on your biometrics appointment letter? For ROC you'll have two case numbers
I haven't received my biometrics letter yet

I found out from others here on VJ. So do you already have an original hardcopy of your extension letter?
Yes, I got that back on July 2018.

WOW IT WORKED! Thank you it says it was received on july and they sent a receipt notice. How did you find out about this new way to check the status?

If you already have hard copy of NOA1(extension letter) then you don't need to worry. The USCIS systems sometime can be a pain.
That's why I wasn't concerned before but now I'm afraid if when I leave the country on July and I try to entry again they will check the letter and what if nothing shows under that number? Will they stop me at customs and border and not let me in?
-
I create an account and then asked me what I wanted to do? I clicked on check status of my case and it took me to the same website I was before to check the case. How do you know that is an "old" site? I used it wiht another receipt notice and it worked so I think my receipt number is the problem
-
It didn't work 😕 it took me to the same website i was before and my number didnt work
-
Let me try it now and see if it works. Give me 5 minutes please don't leave
-
Not there but on this website has always worked https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

I sent my package to remove the conditions on my green card back in June 2018. I got a receipt notice on July saying they cashed the check I even saw the transaction on my bank. I just happen to want to check my case online and it says my case number is not correct, I called their number to check at same thing. Because is Saturday I can't talk to anyone there. I'm scared, since I have to travel on July and I'm glad I checked now instead of getting in trouble on the same day of my trip. Has anyone gone through this issue?

Hello people! I filled my package 06/25/18 and was delivered 06/27/18. This is the 3rd package I sent. I originally sent mine on April and because they were taking forever I thought application got lot and sent another one on May, both packages were returned to me and they asked me to file again. I file at the California Service Center. Can someone make a chart with names and dates? so we know about what time we receive our NOAS.

I do not think you to worry about it too much. Either they will cash it out of the second check, or if they can't do that they will request for money to be submitted.
Maybe your NOA says Money received because they entered that data when they saw you money order. And processed the receipt before figuring out that the money order cannot be used.
I think money not coming through might not be a reason for them to nullify your application completely.
You were right! I called them and asked to talk to "next level" of the customer service and they returned my call and the person I talked to really helped me to feel relieved. He told me that what is going to happen is 1) They will try to cash the money order and it won't be possible so they will return my package and will asked me to send another one because the application was not accepted. 2) Since I already sent other package on May 22, all I have to do is to wait until they open that application and cash the check.

Infopass is an option - if you are able to get one.
Calling back is easier for sure - just insist on speaking to Tier 2. If the first rep won't transfer you (or more likely set up a call back), call back to get a different one.
So, they returned my call and this time I talked to a legit guy. He told me that my first application will be returned to me and denied. 2) They will see my second application and cash the check and everything should be okay. So basically I only have to wait another month to hear from the second application.
-
Just called them again. This time I called the customer service in English and they were nicer than the Spanish customer service. I asked her to transfer me to the Tier 2 agent and she did after I told her about my issue and she said that I have to wait at least 30 days for the second application that I sent to see what they do. I asked her what about the first one and the money order that is not going to be able to be cashed? and she said she doesn't know and that I have to wait 30 days and call again. I was transferred but they have tons of call so I let my phone number for them to call me back, let's see what they say.

Do not expect USCIS to sort out your mistake - at the end of the day your immigration status in den US is dependent on the correct filing of the I-751. You do not want to jeopardize that be stuck in some kind of bureaucratic limbo.
A tier 2 agent is an actual immigration officer. The phone support people you reach at what the forum lovingly calls "The USCIS mis-information line" have no access to the actual files and give only generic information which appears to be wrong about half the time.
I would love to speak with a tier 2 agent, I'm just afraid the stupid customer service rep. won't transfer me. Other option might be an infopass appointment?
-
1 minute ago, TabeaK said:
You'll want to follow up that. You don't want two pending applications with USCIS. Dealing with USCIS is a pain and you have not done yourself any favors by canceling the original check and sending yet another application...
These kinds of scenarios can spiral into a bureaucratic nightmare very, very quickly. Call back and demand talking to a Tier 2 agent to sort this out.
Don't you think they will send a letter because they couldn't cash the money order? The girl I talked to told me to wait until USCIS send me a letter saying what to do next. What is a Tier 2 agent?
-

And looks like way too many people are sending another package because they think it got misplaced. And in turn, making an already backlogged process slower.
And had we gotten that Alert even 15 days ago - everyone would have been soo relieved.
I was one of those people that sent 2 packages :(. I sent the first one on April 10 and the second one May 22. The worst thing it is that they found my first package and they sent me a receipt yesterday but that package was sent with a money order and I already cancelled the money order and got my money refunded. The second package was sent with a check to make it easier. I don't know what is going to happen, if they will just deny the first petition and find the second one.
-
I HATE calling USCIS customer service in Spanish they always treat me like my issue is not important and that they don't care. I called this morning asking about my situation and they said that the reason I got a receipt notice was because they sent the receipt before cashing the money, it looks like it's different for money orders? Does any of you know about how money orders are processed? They also said that they are going to charge me a fee because they won't be able to cash the money, but on I-751 form instructions they said that if they can't cash your check they charge a NSF fee but it doesn't say anything about money orders. They said they are going to charge me twice because I sent 2 applications, which I think is ridiculous since they only need one payment so if they cash the check I sent them with the second application they shouldn't try to charge me again.
My case number says is not valid?
