  1. I am sorry about the responses that aren't supportive like you pointed out and I understand how you feel. It's really difficult when you are pursuing an important goal and are presented with obstacles. The last time I saw my wife was two days after our wedding in Nigeria and it's been over a year now. I appreciate the many helpful answers I have received on this forum. They have made this journey a bit easier for me. I believe things will work out for you with prayers and the support you get from here. Don't give up. Remember, where there's a will, there's a way!

    Cheers!

    thank you!

  2. Wow...no we have not met yet hence the reason we are trying to work this all out. I'm sorry that I filed before figuring everything 100% out. I've been scrutinized and yelled at several times for making this mistake. People have been very rude about it. I'm just trying to work with what I have now and find a way to make it work without having to start all over again with fees and #######. I DON'T have the money for all of this. I realize you all feel the same way and Yes, I have to have money in order to bring him here. I've heard it all before. BUT, I'm a full time college student working multiple jobs and about to have surgery. I CAN'T afford all these fees nor can I afford airfare back and forth. I can't go to him right now because of the surgery and being unable to travel out of the country. He is a full time master's student as well and doesn't have a job (unemployment in Nigeria is way worse than in America). He has been doing side jobs, borrowing from his parents and looking into getting a loan to pay for all the fees and his airfare here but, can't afford several trips and/or paying for me to go back and forth.

This post and all my posts before this have been simple questions from those who have already done this. I appreciate feedback and help but, I don't appreciate the rude remarks and people treating me badly or as if I don't know anything. Yes, I've made mistakes but, that is why I'm here trying to learn and find ways to work with what I have. Thank you to those of you who have helped and are supportive about it.

  3. I'm sure this is probably on here somewhere but, I'm still learning how to use this site. Does anyone know what the processing time difference is between a K3 and a K1?? I'm just thinking...what if I go to my fiancé and marry in his country instead of waiting for him to come here to get married. thanks!

  4. Thanks everyone. Plus, I never said that I didn't trust or believe what everyone was saying to me. I appreciate everyone's input. Please do not put me down and assume you know what I'm thinking. I have a life outside of this forum and do not sit here to check it every 5 minutes. My lack of response does not mean I disapprove or disagree with your response. Thank you.

  5. He doesn't want to cancel the k1 but, we have never met in person and I'm getting bombarded on here with people saying it will be denied even though we provided legitimate info regarding not meeting first. We talked about it and I thought it would be better to just withdrawal the k1 for now, have him come visit and then we can re-apply for k1. But, he will be moving here eventually and will need a job. He does not currently have a job in Nigeria because they have a higher unemployment rate then USA. He is finishing his Master's degree in September and will plan to come visit after that. He will still have to go back to do one more presentation for his masters but, plans to put that off so he can come to me for my birthday. His parents have money but, he is by no means rich. Nor am I! I'm living mostly on student loans and multiple jobs. I live with my mother. We will make due with another body in the house but, he is very eager to lay down roots here with me in the US.

  6. Hello, so my fiancé plans to come over to USA to visit me. He plans to stay for the whole 6 months that the visitor visa is good for. The problem is that he plans to get a job while he is here. We are planning to wed as soon as the k1 visa is approved. Here is my problem. Visitor visa's require you to prove you intend to return to your home country. Employment visa's can be temporary or permanent. He eventually plans to move here and stay here to be with me. how do we go about him coming here to be with me yet work while he is here and still prove that he plans to go about things the proper way? It's such a confusing thing and there are so many different hoops to jump through. I'm already out $340 dollars from a visa petition I'm going to need to withdraw. I need to do this the right way this time. Thanks!!!!

  7. haha...thanks. I figured hehe. But, I had to ask. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm new to all this and so it's really helping! He plans to come here on a visitor visa as soon as he graduates in a few months so we will try this petition thing again haha.

  8. Thanks team MicVic.

and Marriedguy....We actually have never met in person yet. We are both graduate students and unable to afford the airfare several times. Plus, on top of that Nigeria has been very unsafe for American's...especially Christians.

  9. Hello, My I-129F petition was originally sent to Texas because the forms stated that's where I needed to send it. Is it possible to call and ask for it to me transferred to California or Vermont so that it's possible for it to be processed faster?? I was just looking at the processing times sheet and it said that California is currently working on petitions from May, 2015, Vermont on April, 2015 and Texas November, 2014! I'm just ready to be with the love of my life! Please help! Thanks!!!

  10. Lovely. I appreciate your response. He's not a scammer though. I get what you're talking about though. My family has been leery of the same thing. We have been together for two years now though so...yea. haha. Thanks for responding to my new member post though! :)

  11. Hey everyone! I'm new to the site. I'm on here to talk with other people who are going through or have been through this whole visa process. I'm currently waiting on my K1 fiancé visa petition. Hoping I don't have to wait to much longer so I can finally be with my love and get married!
