Thank you and congratulations on your journey too.

My completion time got pushed back to Jan 21 from Nov 20 last night after the interview and I was feeling very discouraged. I hope I’ll get in on 23rd!

     Thank you!
Complétions time is not accurate at all. Mine says Jan 21  too.  Check the documents tab to know when oath ceremony letter is issued.

    Good morning y’all

I had my interview yesterday afternoon and I passed it, however, no same day oath was given. The interview was conducted pretty much like what I’ve read at this site. The officer told me that I’ll receive the oath ceremony letter in the mail.

I decided to file N-400 after almost 27 years being a permanent resident, because I wanted to vote for this election. Even I missed the registration by a couple of weeks due to the pandemic, I still can say I’m happy that I’ll be done with USCIS soon!

    Congratulations!
mine was on the 6. Same I was really looking forward to vote this year but The Pandemic ruined that .
I just checked my account and oath has been schedule October 23.
So yours should be soon too.

I did my interview yesterday at the USCIS Office in downtown San Diego, CA. My appointment was at 10:30 AM. I originally submitted back in Oct 2019.

I showed up to the building 15 minutes before my appointment time as instructed in the interivew letter. To my surprise there were at least 20 individuals in line already, and it was not moving that fast. After 10 minutes, the line started to move and it was quick after that. I entered the building, checked-in, security clearance and went up to the 4th floor to the waiting area, by then it was 10:30 AM already. I didn't get called in for my interview until around 11:25 AM. The officer asked me to show him my appointment/interview letter along with my Green Card and CA State Drivers License. He did the english part of the exam first: Write "The capital of USA is Washington, D.C.", asked me to read of the iPad "Independence day is on July 4th" and that was that. Then we asked me about my timeline as a student since that's how I first came in to the USA (F1 Visa) and asked me how I met my wife. He asked what date I got married and asked to see my Original Marriage Certificate. Then he reviewed my employement timelines and proceeded to ask if there were any changes since my application to the N-400. I explained that I had since moved to a new address (asked me how many bedrooms, and what the rent was) and that I had a baby girl in May. He asked to see a copy of the Birth Certificate for my Daugther which I had with me in my files. After that we did the Civics questiosn, which he asked me six questions. Who is the VP of USA? What ocean is on the east coast? States that Border Mexico? Give two rights that every CItizen has? WHo is the father of USA? How many senators are there? I answered all correctly. Then proceeded to review all the "No" questions on the N-400, have you ever been convicted of such an such? are you involved with terroriste organization? Communism? Ever hurt or killed someone? That takes a couple of minutes. Finally he made me review the changes or additions that were made to my N-400 (new address and a child), I signed (digitally) on the iPad and that basically finished the interview process. There was very little small talk with the office, but he seemed pretty relaxed, not super serious or trying to be intimidating. After that the office gave me the great news that I had been APPROVED and as of that moment I was a US Citizen. He explained that sometimes they mail out the Certificate of Naturalization, but to my luck they did have the the materials needed and provided me with the document right there and then. The whole thing took about 35 minutes and he explained that it is usually not that long, because we had to wait another 10 minutes to get the certificate printed out. Officially done with N-400 and already registered to VOTE. I will do my passport application tomorrow, since I can't come back in to the USA now if I decide to travel. He did keep my 10 year Green Card with him.

Best of luck to all of you!

    Congratulations!
wow so you get naturalization certificate same day? Your office is different. I have been schedule for oath ceremony .

  4. I attended my interview yesterday. Everything was super quick. There were about five of us in the waiting area for N400 .
Some of the questions that were asked:

1.Who was president during World War 1

    2. Who lived in America before the Europeans.
    3. Who is the Vice president now

The reading and writing questions were: When is Columbus Day? - Columbus day is in October.
then I was asked the all yes & no questions.
When was the last time I travelled out of the country.

Now I have to wait for the oath ceremony .

Praying for those of one still waiting to get an interview soon.

I did my interview this morning and passed! 😁

Didn't get to do the same day oath ceremony because I applied for a name change. Hopefully will get the ceremony letter soon!

Appointment was at 9:30am. I got inside the building at 9:15am. Waited for around 30 mins and the interview started at 9:45. Everything just happened so fast. Oath, and then he asked for me to show him my GC through the plexiglass. After that the officer went through the yes or no questions super fast, he talked like an express train. I had to squeeze my brain hard to answer them. 🤪 He went on and on and didn't even mention he was going to start asking the civic questions and just did it right away after the yes or no questions. Then reading and writing test. After that he asked about my employment history, family (marriage and kid), travel history, and past addresses. Because of name change, I had to show him my birth certificate. He didn't even ask for my husband's and child's BC. Last one was checking and certifying all the changes made during the interview and then done.

Now I can relax for a bit. Almost done... 😊

    Congratulations!!

It must be the Atlanta office,  I mean the city government itself works at a snails pace so I am not that surprised.

My processing time just moved from Oct 2021 to November 2021(I know not too take too much stock in those times but it's not encouraging at all. 😕

Mine say October 2020 it was November.
    Hopefully yours will change too.
All we gotta do it wait now.

UPDATE* I don't know if the change of address triggered something with my N400 but just got a case update status about 3 mins ago and I got scheduled for a interview! Letter hasn't show up yet on my online document tab. This morning I received a email confirmation that they updated my new address change today.( I did AR-11 online form like 6 days ago because I moved to a different state ATL to AZ). I'm really hoping they scheduled it in Arizona.

Congratulations on your interview. I guess it's ATL that's slow.

yeah sadly we might not be able to get an appointment anytime this month or next month because of furloughs to USCIS coming up at the end of August 30.... Sadly congress did not come together to agree on a stimulus bill.... at this point I'm sure furloughs will happen and it will affect 13,400 USCIS employees. We all need to lower our expectations once furloughs take place because it will stop/halt USCIS from processing cases, there will be much more longer delays or no action at all on any cases.

Reached out to Senator Loeffler's case worker to see if they could provide insight regarding why ATL seems to be lagging behind in scheduling and I received this e-mail:

Please see below response from USCIS-Atlanta, while they confirm you are in line for scheduling, they cannot provide a definitive time frame. If you don’t hear anything in 60 let us know so we can follow-up.

    USCIS Response:

    Dear SENATOR'S CASEWORKER,

Ponjor's husband's case is currently in line for interview scheduling.  He will be scheduled for the next available interview date.

Please feel free to follow up in 60 days.

I asked the senator's caseworker if he has seen interviews being scheduled and I'm waiting for his reply. I really feel like we aren't even going to see people be rescheduled or scheduled until August :crying:

On the bright side  at least August is one day away.
Finger crossed we start getting interview next month.
