    Hello Everyone,

    This morning I got the updated that my card is being produced!! HAPPINESS!! 

    I got a I-551 stamp on Jan 18, since I never received my new 18 months extension, and it was close to the time of the expiration of the first letter.

    We got RFE on Jan 14.

    We got it in the mail on the following Friday.

    We sent the package on the Tuesday (the day after MLK day) and they received it on Jan 25. 

    With the petition back in 2017 we sent bank statements, lease, bills, photos, travel docs, insurances and other stuff with both our names.

    The RFE we got asked for the same stuff just more recent (we moved to another state since we filed so the lease they had was of course expired) and if we had children, loans/mortgages or affidavits.

    We sent all our new documentation (new trips- receipts+pictures, new insurances - car, house, health..., emergency contacts at our work/school, new lease, bills, updated bank statement - I made sure it said joint owner on it, and random holiday cards with both our names on the envelope).

    Can't wait to get the card in hand and to start the citizenship process in the near future!

    MISTAKE :oops:: I  called USCIS last week because I haven't got a new extension letter or any updates.

     

    My first Extension Letter arrived on NOV 14,2017.^_^

    I’m a November filer- VSC and I don’t have the letter yet either.

    TBH I hope that instead of that, they send an approval :P

    Mine says April 9 as well online. 

    I am not sure if the files are actually touched but I sure hope so lol :P

    I haven't gotten the "new" extension yet but I think that they have started with people that have an extension letter expiring soon.

    But you never know! Always hoping to get some updates in the mail  :)

    I had my Biometrics in mid December.

    We moved from Virginia to Nevada and  did a change of address (WITH CONFIRMATION THAT THEY REGISTERED THE CHANGE!!)

    We received the Biometrics letter 2 DAYS before the appointment supposedly to the old center.

    We called the number and they told us "Just follow the instruction on the notice and MAIL it back. You will be  rescheduled in the future."

    There was no way that they would receive it in time.

    I just went to our new local center and explained the situation.

    They were nice and did it on the spot (there was nobody there), and they told me that since it's electronic I didn't have to send notices or anything and I was good to go.

    Of course every situation is different.

     

    I really hope they fix whatever problem they are having.

    It's crazy that it take 12 -15.5 months for this process and they still get it wrong!

    Good afternoon everyone.

    Today in the mail I got the letter for the biometrics and it was at a service center near our previous address for DEC 20.

    (I DID COMMUNICATE AND RECEIVED CONFIRMATION FOR CHANGE OF ADDRESS...but of course they still made a mistake).

    So I called USCIS and they told me to follow the reschedule procedure on the letter = mail it back with a cover letter explaining the mistake.

    After I hung up the phone, my husband and I decided to just go over to the local USCIS center.

    We explained what happened and they just processed me on the spot without me having to do anything. LUCKY DAY !

    Hello Everyone.

    I am unable to update the timeline, if someone could do it for me I really appreciate it.

    We are relocating across the country.

    I submitted a change of address last Friday (DEC 1) and I received later in the day the confirmation of the update of the change of address via email by the VSC.

    My NOA1 was dated NOV 14 as I wrote in a previous post.

    We signed up with USPS for the informed delivery too and I am hoping that we get something soon.

    do you upgrade your SSN too? mine says: DHS WORK AUTHORIZATION ONLY...

    No the green card trumps both. The EAD/AP application is done so that you can work or take a short trip out of the US while your GC is pending without having deemed abandoning your residency. So once your GC is in your hand you need not worry about asking for AP or revalidating your EAD. The GC allows you to work in the US.

    I am not sure...I've seen people doing both.

    I guess that if you change it after the GC you have to call USCIS and tell them and probably submit a petition again.

    I haven't change my last name... I don't mind if they call me with his but on paper I have mine.

    BUT IT'S JUST ME!!

    Remember though that when you change it here, you have to change everything in your home Country.

    And I'm sooooo done with petitions and paperwork XD

    I tried to exchange it since I am from Italy and we have a EU license.

    But APPARENTLY they only exchange the FRENCH - GERMAN - SOUTH KOREAN ones. :sleepy:

    We moved to VA in mid-Dec (new military duty station), so we decided to wait until we so not to have to go back again to the DMV to re-change it once we moved since it was already November.

    But it's nuts...I understand if we drove on the left like in the UK or Japan or South Africa, but I don't see the point on wasting everybody's time to redo it if you have it already and it's not expired. :ranting:

    (what makes me mad is that the EU has the same "road-code" everywhere) :ranting:

    Wow this is crazy. Did you go to exchange your out of country for a MD license or were you applying for a new one? I've had a learning permit for people over 25 during my status as an F1. Decided to do my skills exam using NOA1 for AOS and EAD. I passed, but they had to run a SAVE verification and I received a call a week later stating that USCIS allowed MVA to give me my license for 1 month. Can you believe it? My husband has a GC and exchanged his license for MD one. It's a very complicated process. The good thing about it is that you get to keep your driving record from your home country. Message me if you need details on MD's MVA process.

    I went to the DMV to have my license transferred and they told me that EAD is not proof of residence but I can use NOA1 for I485, even if it's better to have the GC in hand.

    (though this might change from state to state)

    PS: I did my SSN even before getting married...It say DHS AUTHORIZATION TO WORK. does it mean that once I have the GC I have to go change it??

    I called them already last week and they created a service report which stated that it will be assigned to an officer. Yes I am concerned as no notification re EAD up to now . Yes AP approval was last Jan 8. Was hoping to get is soon so I can get a driver's license and SSN.
