Hi! I just wanted to say please make sure when she completes the DS-160 ( I think that's the correct form?) That she puts everything that's needed in that form (I can't recall if it has specifics for thinks like bank account, owning a home, past travel history etc) I say this because they are not required to look at documents she brings and often times already made their decision based on what was completed in the application form.
This is not to say don't bring the paperwork- definitely bring it to the interview but don't be surprised if they don't look at it. Good luck to your mom.
Thanks for that tip! I’m helping her to complete the form so I’ll definitely triple check to make sure that all the details are filled in. In my past experience the tourist visa they didn’t look at my “evidence” either. They saw that I’d travelled before with no issues and it was a quick approval. -

She’s more than welcome to apply- no one here can say for sure if she’ll be granted one. As you know string ties to home are extremely important and her being older, being supported by you financially with you in the US may be a hinderance but definitely apply.
You’re right thank you. I’m hoping that her travel history will be a good sign, she isn’t at all interested in living in the US. I’ll make sure that she brings all other paperwork to show ties.

Sort of intrigued where Japan comes into it. Anyway it is not a chance based process, well if she does not apply then 0%.
When I applied for the K-1 visa I was living in Japan

So my mom has a pretty good history of traveling to the US and she’s gotten approved for the tourist visa twice. The last time she travelled however was 2004. What are her chances of getting approved this time around? I know chances are usually higher for renewals but I’m still a bit scared that they won’t approve her because she doesn’t have a ton of ties. She’s retired but does a bit of Part time work for extra money. My husband and I mostly support her financially but she also has a pension. She’s from Jamaica if that makes a difference.

I just got the case update notice today. Logged into USCIS Website and got this notice. On July 8, 2019, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number WACXXXXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us.
I suppose these are the 10 year green cards.
Congrats!! What service center?
Edit: nvm just saw that it was Nebraska

Thanks for the clarification! Just what I thought, just wanted to be sure since my husband wanted to check as well. My 90 days for naturalization will be this July so I’ll just wait till then to apply.

My husband will be going on an unaccompanied tour next year. I will stay behind with our daughter here in the States. I’m currently in the process of removing conditions. Would I qualify for expedited naturalization? 319(b) seems to only apply to spouses who are on their husband’s orders to accompany them overseas.

What’s the trick to getting an infopass appointment? I need to get a I-551 stamp in order to replace my social security card and everytime I log on there are no times available for the field office in my area.
-
Received my 18 month extension today as well (California Service Center). Can someone add it to the list for me please? Don’t wanna mess the table up lol.

Wasted my time on the phone calling about my husband's case. I didn't know he had to be available. ugh. 😩
I have no receipt number so I'm in the dark...
Has anyone who sent their case to Pheonix heard anything?

Has anyone from the September filers received their NOA today?
I don’t think the mail ran today so if anything it would be tomorrow 🙂

Filed with Arizona service center on 9/24
Delivered 9/26
Recived text notification this evening (10/02) that packet was received and sent to CSC
Check not cashed as yet - I’m assuming it will be tomorrow.

You’d put your name under Arizona service center

I mean, I don’t know. We moved twice in last 10 months. I changed our address every time on USCIS website yet they sent my mail to TN which I didn’t know about until it popped in a mail in GA and it had the forwarding sticker on it like all of our mail does. So I don’t know. 🤷🏼♀️
We’ve had mail forwarded from USCIS too (we’re also military).

Has anyone who sent to the Arizona Service Center gotten a NOA yet?
What happens if your current GC expires before the NOA gets here?

Correct. Just make sure to double check you have everything there with the signature - and the correct filing location to send to
Thank you! Yes I will double and triple check that everything is accurate before sending it out tomorrow.

Hi all I have a question about how late filing is calculated. My conditional green card expires on October 1st and I will be mailing the packet out tomorrow (September 18th). Am I still within the acceptable window? I’ve been reading that checks aren’t being cashed immediately and petitioners are receiving NOAs late so this has me worried. As long as it arrives at the lockbox before October 1st then I should be ok right?
-
Thank you! I searched and didn’t see it - guess I wasn’t looking hard enough lol
-
I checked and I don’t see a July 2018 thread as yet so I figured I’d start one. We’re currently getting our documents together. Anyone else in the July 2018 boat?
-
Big congrats to everyone who has either GC or EAD approved. I'm still stuck at ready to schedule for an interview since August. I'm wonder what I did wrong for my packet since I adjust from K1
I don't think you did anything wrong - it sometimes takes a while for some field offices to schedule interviews because of the backlog
-
Green card is being produced ??? anyone knows how long it takes from being produced to "in my hands"? Lol haha
Mine was approved on the 3rd, it never changed to "being produced" just "card was mailed" on the 12th and I received it on the 14th. So all in all less than 2 weeks.
-
Congrats! ...
But.... why 10 year GC? .... Remember if you were only suppose to have the 2 year GC it's up to you to get it fixed have seen a lot of mistakes with this lately and it will cause you problems with ROC if you don't fix it.
If it's a mistake you have to send it in with the I-90 to get it fixed and with a while for the right one.
I think persons who've been married for more than 2 years automatically get a 10 year card with no conditions.
Congratulations! Our interviewn is on Nov 3, did you go to an interview?
Thank you!! No we weren't asked to do an interview.

Green card came in the mail today. Finally completing this part of the process feels so good!! I couldn't have done it without the support of this forum and my wonderful husband. Now to rest till it's time to remove conditions. I hope everyone's process goes just as smoothly!! :-)
