Waiting for an update on my case is starting to cause anxiety. On top of that, my fiance will be going through (what I presume) an ugly custody battle with his son's Mom. I think it's starting to get the best of us, and our relationship. BUT, we are together for a reason, and we've toughed it out so far! I know my complaints are so trivial compared to what other couples have endured (going a lot longer without seeing your S.O., political/financial strife), but I just hope we get a glimmer of hope this week - a touch or something! I pray to you, Thor (lol).

Your situation may be a bit similar to ours. My fiancée has a son too. How old is your fiancés son? What's your plan for custody while your fiancé is in the USA? 
 
We are thinking a month every other year he travels to the US and then the other year my fiancé goes to Chile.

After work last night the first thing I did was break out my phone and open the USCIS app. I have my case selected and then 8 other adjacent case #s to mine. 5 before, 3 after. So I refresh and I see a bunch of "received"s change to "approved". I get excited and start searching for my case #. I find it. "Received". Of the 9 cases, including my own, 5 were approved yesterday. My NOA 1 date is Nov. 7th. Disappointed, obviously, but getting closer! Maybe tonight. Best of luck to everyone.

Try not to panic - i really think you are getting so close.  It could be tomorrow - it might be a couple of weeks - but you are so nearly there!  The increase in the processing numbers means everyone is much closer than we thought three weeks ago.  Your relationship is made of steel to be coping wth all of this.  Well done!  Hang in there - every day is a day closer xx

Congratulations to all of you who got their NOA2! The first stage is over and now things start moving much faster. Very happy for you guys.
 
But what would fill my heart with eternal joy and happiness is to see Nowrya and JimJesDuma getting their approvals this week. They've been waiting for so long... Thinking of you every day, guys.

OH MY GOD!  I just switched on my pc after scrolling through my emails and seeing that there were lots of cases handled yesterday - and was catching up on the posts on my way to the report - and my phone buzzed in my pocket...

wow, congs to everyone that got approved, may the road ahead be fast and smooth. Thank u Geowrian, am so glad u are in Dec with me, so u are going nowhere anytime soon hahaha, though I really also wish u a fast approval dont get me wrong. Now about Politics, pleaseeeeeeeee, i beg we just come here and encourage each other as we have done so far. give us political news that is directly and proved to be connected to our K-1, am so tired of politics on every forum. and also dont forget not everyone here shares the same political views, so if we bring politics here that is not directly related to our K-1 and that can shade some light to whatever is going on at CSC, we are gonna spoil this wonderful forum.

we got approved at the same day! it is really nice that we're getting more movement. but i do hope that they work on the remaining cases from earlier dates before moving forward because it would be kind of unfair to those who've waited for so long.

Hey everyone!  I got my text at 7:30 PST today.  We are APPROVED!!!   Wow can't believe the day has come.   
 
Wasn't paying attention to my phone until I was getting ready to turn in.  Yup. Looks like we are making more progress!  But why haven't some of you before me gotten some notice yet?  Here's to more approvals tomorrow!  Good Luck!

I do think it should be a safe space for at least asking questions and interact, agreed. While few folks I have seen on VJ are from affected countries, we do not have any idea of the depth and breadth of the immigration changes that the Trump administration will bring about - even in the above-the-board K-1 to Permanent Resident route that we are taking. A New York Times article yesterday quoted USCIS officials off the record saying that employees were mandated to cease work on applications from the 7 countries past the interview stage - meaning that even for K-1, these petitions are currently poised to die at the respective embassy once a couple has waited through the agony of application, NOA-1 to NOA-2 to NVC to embassy to medical all the way to interview. I know that if my application were denied (or "decision to approve visa pending change of official American policy") after spending such a long time waiting, especially having chosen a state-sanctioned method to move toward immigration to the US, I would be beyond devastated. Crushed, heartbroken. These far-reaching changes are currently American immigration policy and I wait with dread to read the news every morning. So I know the VJ community, even possibly K-1, will be affected.

I know it's tough to deal with this constant barrage of news re: the ridiculousness happening in our country, but this is a forum where people are encouraged to share their experiences. 
 
What happened over the weekend actually does directly relate to what we discuss here, so it's a bit unfair to expect that nobody discuss the current political craziness. And maybe it doesn't apply to many countries at this time, who knows what countries will be part of the ban next?
 
Even though we might be 1000% sick of hearing about politics everywhere else, I think it's important for everybody to feel like this is a safe space to ask questions and interact with each other. 

Yup. I'm seeing at least 48 approvals so far in the re-scan. This might turn out to be not a such a disappointing night.
 
Edit: Holy @#$%....err cow...we're on track to have the most approvals tonight than any day since Oct. again.
 
Strike that...we just did. It was 68 when I made my edit.  It's now 78. New record!

There are people in here with Oct 31 NOA1 dates that haven't got their NOA2 yet.  I hope we all get them in Feb but just wanted you to know the reality of our current situation.

My case is Nov. 8th - it's nice to see something a little closer to this date being active.
