Anyone else thinking about naturalization?  We become eligible in February 2019!

"The spouse of a U.S. citizen filing for naturalization on the basis of his or her marriage may file the naturalization application up to 90 days before the date he or she would first meet the required three-year period of continuous residence. [11] Although an applicant may file early and may be interviewed during that period, the applicant is not eligible for naturalization until he or she has satisfied the required three-year period of residence. All other requirements for naturalization must be met at the time of filing."

It is something I'm planning on doing. I have been thinking about it, but will mostly wait until after I get the 10 years card.

Hmmm our NOA1 is dated before yours, and we haven't gotten the extension letter yet...did you get a USCIS status update about it as well?

I never got any status updates. But some who got their first NOA after me, got the 18 months one before. So my guess is that it's coming. They all seem to be dated 8.11, so yours is probably stuck in the mail. It should come very soon!

My son got his 18-month extension, I only got the 12-month. Are we supposed to get the 18-month extension as well?

It sounds to me as if they will send us a new 18 month extension letter. I don't expect it any time soon, but I assume it will eventually come.

So the online tracking number is the one on the 1st NOA? I thought that there would be a different tracking number on biometrics request but it's the same number.  So far, my case status online has not change (it says that USCIS cannot provide information about my case).

Long story short, I got my biometrics appointment letter in the mail on the same day that the appointment was scheduled. It was past the time for the appointment when I got the letter, so I drove the USCIS office (luckily I live 10 minutes away from them) and got my appointment done 20 minutes before the office closed.  Since the online case status never changed, that was definitely a surprise for me. It sounds like we're here for a long ride this time eh?

My status never changed either, but make sure you're using the "new" website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

The other one doesn't work anymore for me (and many others too).

    Hey Everyone!

So long story short my GC is literally a few days shy of expiring and I just mailed  my I-751 ROC petition express to the Vermont Service center yesterday. We would've sent it  in earlier but due to our current financial  situation it prohibited in my doing so. I'm not fully in the loop of what is happening for 2018 ROC filers but from what I've seen most people are getting extensions due to the backlog?!? My main question is on average how long does it take to get an extension letter? I'm based in New York.  I'm still working and don't want to cause any trouble for myself or employer.  Also if a letter is sent to me does the letter provide further information on my case status? eg. receipt # to check status etc? I'm literally losing sleep as I'm usually a "go by the book" type of personality.  Answers would be greatly appreciated, Much thanks!

I'm not sure what is going on with the extension letters, but in March, they were pretty quick. I think I got mine within a week. They do give you a receipt number which you can use to track your case. As long as it gets there before the expiration you should be fine.

Update I went in for an early walk-in appt the lady was a little peeved and told me that I'm supposed to reschedule by checking the box and mailing it back but I was worried they would reschedule during school again. She took my prints and picture and said only because it was a slow day... anyways I'm glad it's done and I didn't have to reschedule.

That's great! I'm glad it worked out for you.

Biometrics appointment received. 1st June. Is it just me who is now worried there is a reason ours may not have been waived?!!! (I'll update the sheet)!!

There was a theory on one of the other months thread that it may have to do with if you left the country or not. The theory was that if you left, then they took your fingerprints each time. So you wouldn't have to go. Just a theory though.
