Interview letter received Aug 12, 2016

Interview September 21, 2016. (That will be after 16 months of pending AOS with 4 service requests and expedite request.)

I really wanted them to drag it out until December because then we could have gotten the 10 yr GC and wouldn't have to do the ROC.

I hate interviews and gathering a gazillion documents all over again. I guess we are the last one of the May filers, trailing behind everyone else.

It's insane to see that you are still waiting. I really hope that you'll get the 10yr gc. I did but my paperwork was a bit different. Good luck hun

  2. Congratulations Oti and ForeverAlways!!!

ForeverAlways, could you please share your interview experience here. What questions were you asked and which documents did you bring to interview?

I had my lawyer present who had all documents if needed. I brought along our old passport as I haven't renewed ours yet, our EAD cards, our Military ID cards from my ex husband to be to show who we are. The officer ask me for my name, address, ask if I was still married to my ex and then ask what the. And of my kids were and their Birthdays. She ask me if I have ever had to deal with the police (which I did for a failure to register the vehicle, which is in my exs name only. I explained how the da dropped it and she said okay good. Then she looked at my medical paperwork and said everything was fine there too. She then looked at me and said: you are approved, you will get your green card within 30 days but she didn't believe it would take that long and that it would be mailed to my lawyers. I said thank you to her, she then had my minor son come in ask him the same questions and said he was approved as well and again it would be mailed to the lawyers. We both thanked her and waited outside the room for the lawyers to come out...

  3. Can you please share your AOS timeline? It would be great if you could include these details:

    1. When your VAWA case was approved

    2. When your case was transferred to NBC (normally you receive a letter in mail notifying about this transfer)

    3. When your case was transferred to local office (you probably don't have this info, unless you specifically requested one from USCIS)

    4. Did you receive any online case status update when your interview was scheduled or was it just letter in the mail?

This information would really help to those who are still waiting for their interviews. [/quote

    Vawa was approved September 15th,2015

EAD was approved September 23, 2015

I got a letter saying about the i693 and was told to bring it if I got a interview to bring it with me.

Just receive notice interview at the local office for dec 7th! Hope this is not bad news

  4. I wanted to stop in and say that I have been super busy here. Here is an update on things...

My EAD was approved and I received it 29th of September. Which I got it the first of October as I picked up at the lawyers office. I applied for SSN's the same day as I picked the EAD cards up. I got offered to come the next day to get the SSN's but it be a few days before I got them in the mail. I applied for my first jobs and started working just 3 weeks after my EAD cards were in my Hands. I was hired as part time and only been there for around 3 1/2 weeks and was offered a full time position last week which I accepted. The same day I got hired was the same day I was accepting an apartment. I started working on a Tuesday and moved just 3 days later into our own home. Yes we didn't have anything but little things so we are working our way up. My kids and I (we) are very happy with life even though courts keep letting my ex get away with to much and the divorce has been dragged out way to long. I hope it ends at the next hearing next month.

I don't want you to give up hope and dreams, it may take time with immigration but the freedom of just working and having our own place is so worth it! Keep up your dreams and they will happen.

Thank you for everyone that has been there for me!!!!

  5. Our status is still 'undeliverable' and I opened a service request two weeks ago and it still hasnt been assigned to an officer. Just worrying about if it is the interview letter, band of our lawyer would have recieved one if it was that!

I have an attorney and all of my stuff gets send to the attorney who always contacts me. Check with your attorney... Uscis obviously has mine and the attorney address

  6. Congrats Forever Always, from my experience I'd say got to the SS to get your number. I was able to get my drivers license but it was so tedious and took forever for my documents to be verified. So I believe once you have a SSN it makes the process a lot easier. However bare in mind once you get your temp license you will have to pay to renew it to a 8 year one.

I just paid to get my drivers license but it is temp for a year. Now I have my GC I have to pay $54 to change my licence. I couldn't change license until I had SSN.

Thanks! I have no states drivers license yet and I am so excited to get this finally all done and able to work!
