  1. Dear "ForeverAndAlways", as of today my EAD is still pending, I filed my I-765 along with my I-485 and I-130 last July 10, 2015 NVC received it on July 16, 2015. I was approved for my AOS application and received my green card yesterday in the mail a total of 70 days ( 2 months and 8 days) from the time I mailed my packet to the time I was approved. Along with my green card I have received a RFE for my I-765 asking me for my physical address and an explanation why we do not use our physical address to receive our mail, I got confused because the IO that interviewed me told me I won't need my EAD once I have my green card which I do, anyways I would still be sending a letter of explanation providing my physical address and a request to mail all my correspondence with them to our PO Box (they have been sending my mail from their office from the NOA1 to my welcome letter to me ever since I filed), just to cover all basis. I called the USCIS customer service which of no use to me because the lady just read the general rule they follow, which in my mind I was saying blah blah blah and I just cut her off and asked her if she could just transfer me to an IO and so she did. Once I have talked to the IO she said to just send the letter of explanation and told me to include in my letter that I got approved and have gotten my green card in the mail.

That was fast! It took 4 1/2 month to get the EAD approved and my i360. My i485 is still pending... I am so ready to work.. Thank you for your input

  2. Has anyone recently been approved on the EAD cards and is your card still stuck under production? How long has it been and have you gotten your cards yet???

I was wondering how much is to this one immigration representatives words... He said EAD's are currently having delays and if you haven't received it after 60 days to call back... I sure hope the wait is not another 60 month as I can't financially do that..,,been waiting a total of 4 1/2 month... Hope someone can give me their recent experience.. Thanks

  3. So it's almost September 21st, and at 11am we will have our AOS immigration interview in Massachusetts

I've done everything I can think of - I've filled a 2.5" binder with all of our "submitted" paperwork, originals of birth/marriage/divorce papers, plus lots of extras like bank statements since filing.

Wife is currently putting all our photos into an album

We should be all set, and yet........... we are both extremely nervous

There really is no point to this post, other than to put it out there....

Our interview is scheduled in Lawrence, MA, in just over 11 hours....

    My fingers are crossed.

    good luck

  4. Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on my situation... This is only my second post on this forum, but I've had a very long VAWA journey....

I sent my I-360 and I-485 two years and a half ago: priority date May 3, 2013. Long story short (see timeline below): due to an error at the VSC my case got stuck there for waaaay too long, and it took my lawyer quite some effort to get it moving, anyway....

On September 9th, the USCIS website got updated for the first time since May 2013. It said they transferred it to another office for processing. My lawyer got a notice saying it was transferred to Missouri (NBC). Three days later, so on September 12th, all of a sudden the website says my case was received at the LOCAL OFFICE (NY).

My lawyer doesn't even know what to think of this, it seems very unlikely that a case is transferred that quickly, but he is inclined to believe the website.

What do you guys think? Missouri or New York?

And if it would be in NY (I hope so, I'm starting to become so desperate!), do you guys have any idea when I can expect my interview? Appearantly they send out the interview notices fairly quickly after receiving the file right?

(My case is the longest my lawyer ever had, I'm on my third EAD card! I swear I'm going to frame them after all of this is over....)

    Thanks a lot!!

I am not familiar but I would think they are pushing and working yours thru as they have had it for so long! Hugs and good luck

  5. With respect to I485 (ie AOS), the entire purpose of EAD and AP is to get those first because your I485 approval might take more time. Until your I485 is approved you can use EAD and AP. This has been the regular process for any I485 irrespective of Employment based or family based.

PD for cases whose GC can be approve is April 2014. Applications that can file for I485 is March 2015. Thats got damn one year! If a person with PD before March 2015 and after April 2014 files for I485 they should atleast get the EAD card in 3 -4 months and start working than waiting another 1yr or less to file for I485 with the old process (that depends on VB based on old process as of 1 week back).

Typical/General timeline for to get EAD and AP ( and its heavily dependant on processing center/workload):

    1) Say you apply for I485 today

    2) about a month later you will called for finger printing

    3) a month or two later you should get EAD/AP (this is based on processing time).

    What is PD?

  6. EAD can take 2months. Sometimes it does not make sense to apply Adj of status as Consular processing is much better. This change in policy is a gimmick to get more money by attracting Adj of status application fees and EAD fees. I just hope that whatever it is we should see some hope and get this process done faster. I don't understand why they distinguish spouse of Green card holder versus US citizen.

I am waiting for my EAD. It's been applied for 4 month ago and still don't have it. No RFE and service request hadn't done much of a difference.
