about a week. maybe a little less. but tomorrow is a holiday, so if it doesn't get mailed out today, it won't go til monday or later. so it may take a little longer for you. good luck!
Hi Guys ! we got RFE just want to ask how long it will take to get the hard copy ???? we received email from USCIS that we have RFE and we want to know what it is.. any estimated time from others who got RFE too ?? when we will get it thru mail?
Hoping for a responce .. Thank you !

thanks nolee!! oh I'm so glad you mentioned the picture thing!! how would his picture get there? i didn't see an option to upload anything and when i get to the last page, there's a message where the picture would be saying "photo will be taken at the ASC" am i missing something??? lol
Once he clicks submit the confirmation page will display, that's what he will need to print. It's only 1 sheet of paper, it will have his picture on it with his info and barcode. I cant remember where it was but I think at the end you do have the option to print out all the questions and your responses. Though that part isn't necessary. If you do print it for your records it displays in big letters at the bottom of each page to not bring to the interview. The only thing you do need is just that confirmation page.
If for some reason that confirmation page doesn't pop up automatically after you hit submit you are able to reprint it by logging back into your account using "retrieve an application" option.

quick question for those of you who have already submitted the ds-160...
my fiance is going to a place today where he can pay to print. so, he's going to submit the application from one of the computers there. then what happens...does the barcode page automatically pop up for him to print it? or is there a button or link he's going to have to click to get it? I'm going to be on the phone with him when he does it, so I just want to be prepared to tell him exactly what he needs to do once he clicks submit (lol he's super nervous about messing anything up).
also...since i helped to fill out the application part of it, on the last page before submission, i put my information as someone who helped prepare it. i know a couple of you yesterday said this was a good idea to do...just double checking (because I'm super nervous about messing anythng up too lol)
thanks everyone!!

Thanks girl!
i checked that and nothing comes up yet. i'll keep checking hehehe
Congrats to you too

awesome! congrats! i got my case number the other day...what website are you checking the status on??? i want to check mine too!
:)
Yaaaay...
It's been 4 weeks since we got our NOA2 now and unfortunately my fiancé wasn't able to call NVC.
So yesterday I figured I could just send an e-mail to the embassy here and ask them if they already received our documents and if they could tell me the case number...
Today I got an e-mail back saying that they received the electronical file June 25th but not yet the physical file.
At first I was a little sad that they didn't tell me the case number but then I saw that they added it to the subject title
Of course I checked the status online and it says READY!
Is that the "first status" you see once you got your case number? -
yep! both
Hello everyone...could anyone tell me if the petitioner also has to fill out a I-134 (affadavit of support) form, even though we have a co-spnsor. I believe I read someone that the petitioner also has to submit the I-134 + W2 since the petitioner remains the main sponsor?! Is that correct.
Thanks so much in advance

You'd be surprised at what some people on this site might get offended by. Some might take offense to basically being asked "heyyy how much money does your fiance make per year?" i was just trying to avoid any of that. anyway...good luck
hhaha if posting on a forum, guess it's no longer that personal huh
Yes he definitely meets the income requirement (above 125% poverty level). I wasn't sure if anyone had success going through the interview stage with just putting this line in? I'm overly paranoid about making sure everything is fine!
Thanks for your advice!
-
congrats everyone!
-
Hello! not to be personal or anything...but, does the petitioner meet the income required (i believe 125% of poverty level) to support both people? if so, then you don't even have to fill out any of that extra stuff. those lines are basically only for people who don't meet the income requirements, and have to prove that they have money in assets etc as means of support. hope this helps!
Hi all!
Just wondering if you guys could help us with the I-134 form especially question 7.
We're filling in the employment and we have his salary and letter for employer.
Regarding the other lines: 1) Do we need to fill in all of them? I'm guessing better to be accurate and fill more than less?
2) for deposits: Do they want just savings account, checking accounts or just a summary of all the balances including credit card balances?3) personal property: how do we calculate that?
4) Stocks and bonds? Is that the 401K (the retirement fund)? We don't think so but just wanted to check?
5) Life insurance- we have life insurance but it doesn't have any cash surrender value. What should we put for this?
6) Real estate. Value of estate: is that the current market value and is it ok to use a web calculator such as zillow.com or chase bank to get the market value?
Thanks for all your help!

awesome!! thank you!!! i won't be at the interview because i don't have anymore vacation days. but i heard the Brazil interviews are super quick and simple. are you going??
I am in IT and know a thing or two about these things
You should be just fine, the only part I would avoid is clicking the submit button, I would let your fiancé do that part but the rest should be just fine filling it out yourself. You should also put your name letting them know you helped out, that should be an issue at all. Curios, do you plan to the interview?

weirrrddddddd...first of all...i keep getting the SAME guy (Arthur) every time i call
second of all...they said they received and assigned my case number on 6/27 (which was Saturday LOL). oh well...i'm not calling back again so...27th...final answer!
lol
35 days yeah sure... haha!! Good stuff!!! Yes once you get the receive day you can pretty much calculate when they will be shipping it off to the embassy, 8 days according to VJ stats. Yes it'll be interesting to know when they received yours, i'll be checking out your timeline when you finally get that date.
-
thanks! yep! i called friday morning and it was "not received yet" lol and was told to wait a total of 35 days before calling back...(we all know that wasn't gonna happen hahahaha). so i called about 20 minutes ago and was given my case number. I'm calling back now to see when my case was actually received by them so i can update my timeline
Awesome!! So you must have just got it? Thanks for sharing that. I will wait about 2 weeks to call myself.
-
Hey David! just wanted to let you know I got my case number today! took about 18 days. i dont know when the case actually got there because the guy wouldnt let me get a word in and just transferred me to another department before i could ask lol i'd say it's safe to assume that it'll probably be at least next week before yours gets there. good luck!
Thanks so much for that information! Wow, 6/11? Ours is 6/22 so I guess I won't call for awhile. I live only 20 minutes from that VISA center..... Maybe I should just go there in person in a couple of weeks. Lol
-
Thanks! yeah that's what figured...but I'm so impatient LOL! but you're right, it's def not worth the risk!
just to clarify...when you say "completing and submitting" ...i did fill out some of the parts for him (nothing has been submitted), because this whole process scares him and he doesn't want to do anything wrong lol. do you think (i know none of us can say for sure) that's ok? or do we need to redo the application and have it all be done from brazil? OR-do you think my name should be in the spot where it asks if anyone helped fill out the application? (or is that only for lawyers and stuff?) Thanks for your help!
I'm not positive, but I think there is a risk in you completing and submitting the DS-160 for your fiancé. I read someplace once that the embassy can see the IP address of the person who creates, edits and submits the form. If this is true (and I'm not sure that it is true) and you submit the form when the instructions clearly say the fiancé must submit it, you may have problems. It's not a risk that I would take.
-
Just wondering...has anyone done the DS160 for their foreign fiance? (Meaning...the entire thing, including the "submit" part). Only asking because it's difficult for my fiance to get to a printer to be able to print the barcode page, so i was going to do it for him. But then I read that the instructions say that the fiance must be the one to submit it. Just wondering if anyone has done it without any problems. Thanks!
-
we certainly DO NOT want that to happen! lol #TeamMyrie
If they keep throwing more and more petitions on top of my petition (which is probably all the way at the bottom of a box) then it will never get processed lol.
-
Just got off the phone with NVC, got my case#. NOA2 date of 6/11/15. (funny-i spoke to the same guy who just told me on friday that i had to wait 35 days hehehe).
:)

from what i've read on here (from people that used to work at uscis) they process their own RFE's. they leave the applications in a separate file that need additional information, and as they get the information daily, they match it up with the folder and then process that application right away.
as far as the order, i don't really know. from what i've read, they all grab their own boxes of applications from the storage area, they aren't "given" applications to do. but i'm not really sure.
regardless, they need to get their stuff in order because it's not fair to all the people still waiting waiting waiting. it sucks
Pretty sure they process them as the person who proccesses them GETS them, not the order of date sent or recieved. Meaning, there may be say a folder pile and that piles getting lower, so who ever drops off the folders just plops it on top of the low folder pile. That's most likely how you get May people getting approved over April people. The files don't get to the people who process it in the order that the building recieved.
And RFE's most likely do go to someone else. There's probably the regular guys who check and then either approve or issue the RFE's and then the guys who sit down and do the RFE's seperately. -
You don't receive notification from them. you just have to call (1-603-334-0700) to see if they got it and/or if they have your case number available. it usually takes about 2-3 weeks (even though they'll tell you 35 days) from the NOA2 date for them to receive it and/or have your case number assigned. Mine still hasnt been received and i have an NOA2 date of 6/11. Good luck!
For anyone who has already received their NVC receipt notification, can you please tell me how you were notified? Text and/or email just like NOA1 and NOA2?
THANKS.congrats!! finally!!
:)
I got my NOA2 last night at 10:30, 7 days post RFE review!! Atleast we know they are still working on some April filers. I pray and I'm sure that next week those of you still waiting will hear something! Best wishes!! Have a good weekend!!
-
congrats! That's funny because I've called twice so far and was on hold less than a minute the first time and less than 4 minutes today haha. awesome news!! my NOA2 date was the 11th, so maybe they'll have my case by monday! I'll definitely call back every day next week until I get it! hehehe
I just called NVC (got through on the first call and was on hold for only about 3 minutes, who knew they could be so fast??
) and they have received our case but will take "up to four weeks to send instructions". In other words, I'll be calling back next week to see if I can get my case number
.
My NOA2 date was June 10th at CSC so it took 16 days to get to NVC.

***nevermind*** you can delete this post for me! i found this exact discussion thread somewhere else on the forum. Thanks!!

yayyy! enjoy your trip!!
Hi guys, just thought I would share my experience! It was just fine. I'm visiting my fiancé for 2-3 months (I've been filling in leaves at work and am no longer there) so I figured it was a great time to come for a few months. Anyway, I bought a return ticket for 2 months even though I wasn't sure of the dates yet. I told the customs officer I was visiting my fiancé and he said "cool" and stamped my passport for 6 months (Canada B2). Asked how long I was there. I said 2 months. He said enjoy your trip! That's it! LOL. I had so much paperwork in my backpack for proof of ties and our visa and he didn't even ask for a return ticket. So relieved.

Good morning all!
DS160-My fiance is trying to fill out the previous employment part of form, and it requests the past 5 years of work history. After the first job info was filled out, there's a button that says "add another" (which he did). He then filled out the second job info and the "add another" button is there, but it no longer allows him to press it (its grayed out). So he can't add any more work history, and he has a few more jobs to add.
Is there a limit of how many he can add? Or is this like a system issue or something? I just don't want the application to be incomplete or false. But if this is normal, then I'm ok with it.
Thanks!

great, thanks! i think i read somewhere that packet 3 for brazil is just an email? i'm curious how they will get my fiance's email to send it to him? lol i don't remember filling it out on any of the paperwork so far. hmmmmm
right?! i KNOW i read it somewhere too! and i could have sworn it showed on the brazil embassy page, but now it just has the ds-160 and the ds-230 listed. let me know if you find anything out!
Packet 3 is sent from your embassy. In respect of London it was a letter with instructions & link for online forms, a copy of the approved I-129F form & a piece of paper with domestic abuse guidelines.
I did read where we need to use the DS-260 but I can't for the life of me remember where! It's def DS-160 for London K-1, the 260 might have been to adjust status??

On the I129F I left all the non applicable stuff blank. But I did put N/A on the G-325A forms and did not get an RFE for it. good luck!
