  1. Hi David! Originally I got the same update that you have posted in red. Up until a couple days ago, that update is gone and now when I check the case status I get an error message (which I called about and they said it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong).

Anywho, I get the same error message even when I log in (some people said they get the error message when they check not logged in, but when they log in, they can see a status message...for me I get the error no matter what). However, when you log in, you can "add" your case number...and then below, you should see your case number in a blue hyper link that you can click on...next to that, there's a date that says "last updated" and mine says it was last updated yesterday 5/6 but doesn't tell me what the update is.

Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Good Morning, Congratulations to everyone who has received their NOA-2!

It seems like some filers are able to get updates at USCIS website. I am seeing a couple of people who received their NOA-1 after us, but are seeing activity in the form of updates or "last worked on" information. I received our NOA-1 notice April 22nd and since then, the only message I have is this:

On April 20, 2015, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.............................

Am I missing something ?? I created an account of course, but I don't really see anyplace to go to check if it has been worked on at all yet. My thought was that it was just still in a box with others sent from the lockbox.

    Just curious.

    Thanks.

  2. Thank you both so much!! Really appreciate it! (F)(F)

On the top menu click on portals ... Then on the next web page that comes up pick your country then click the go button ....

  3. Hey Jim&Ann! Quick question...I'm a newbie and still trying to learn how to navigate the site...how would I find the forum for the country my fiance is in? (Brazil) Thanks! :luv:

    Hi kikibozu!

Now that you have your NOA2, it will be sent to the NVC and then forwarded on to the US Consulate in the beneficiary's country. It may take a couple of weeks to get your case number, NVC will notify you but is wise to call them after a week to know the status of your petition (your petition has a validation period of 120 days starting the NOA2 date) you can also request information by email: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov
You can find out what is needed in Packet 3 and prepare for that and the interview in advance to save time later (beneficiary's birth certificate, police records, evidence of ongoing relationship, affidavit of support etc).
Some of those interview requirements are fairly consulate specific, so I suggest to take a look in your country's forum.

  4. that's so awesome! we have almost the same timeline! I submitted April 24th also, they received it the 28th, i got my text and email on May 1st and still waiting for the NOA1 in the mail. Good luck with everything! :)

Hello, fellow April filers! I am new to VJ. My fiancé and I mailed our petition on April 24, 2015. Our notice date was April 29. I received a text and email on April 30... and received the NOA 1 in the mail yesterday! So excited for my honey to come home to Florida ASAP!!!

  5. Hi! I remember when I first joined VJ the same thing happened to me! Maybe there is some other info you are supposed to submit on the timeline before you hit save? I'm sorry i can't be more useful :(

Thanks Blue! No worries! I appreciate your response, and it's a little comforting at least knowing someone else experienced it too! Was yours ever resolved?

  6. I-129F sent 4/3/2015

NOA 1 Hard copy received 4/16/2015 but dated 4/14/2015

In CSC but unable to check status at all since filing. Hopeful of NOA 2 sometime this or next week :-)

    Good luck to everyone

Good luck, Billy! I'm kind of obsessed with the progress of my case, so I check the status every day (even though I know it's not likely to change so quickly lol!) And after I got my NOA1 emailed to me, I checked the status and it told me it was received etc. It said that all the way up until yesterday...When I checked today, I was given an error message, stating they couldn't update me at this time. I called them (just to make sure) and was told that it probably means it's being worked on, and no status update does not necessarily mean that anything is wrong. They have 30-45 days to update the status, so if nothing after that then definitely call them! But hopefully, it won't take that long! Keep us posted!

  7. Can anyone help me with this?

I was setting up my timeline, and it asks "US Embassy" (assuming I'm understanding correctly) I selected Sao Paulo, Brazil (because that's the US embassy my fiance will be going through)...then I hit save...and it keeps changing it to "Armenia"??? Am I doing something wrong, or has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!!
