well thats good! but that sucks that they transferred you...because they are supposed to give you the case number before they transfer you lol. to do the dhl thing, its helpful to have the date your case was processed and case number was created, so you know what date range to search.

you can try it though. go to the DHL website and search by shippers reference

Hey everyone - finally got through to NVC long enough for them to tell me they received our packet from USCIS, but she transferred me before I could get a case number, and then I was disconnected. I've heard people talk about looking at the DHL tracking to see packages going to their respective countries. Can someone tell me how I do that? Thanks!

congrats! depends on your country. some countries, once you have the case number, you can schedule your interview online (others you aren't able to do that). read up on your country's forum and see what happens next! but at the very least, with the case number, you can track your case on the CEAC website to see when it arrives at the embassy!!

i don't think it's "necessary" at this very moment but eventually, you're going to need it. you'll need it to know when your case was received by the embassy so you can continue the process etc. they are open 7am to midnight, so there's plenty of time during the whole day to get through, even if it means waiting. for me, it's worth it to just get it now as opposed to risking not being able to get through later when you really need it. good luck!

Hey guys! I got my noa2 on June 15th and I wondering if it is necessary to call the nvc to ask for my number...we dont really have the time to be waiting for ever on the telephone, plus i dont want to torture myself again by checking the website to see how our case is going. my logic right now is...we have to wait for the package to arrive anyways lol

nope, not every day. i got my NOA2 on the 11th, i called the first time on the 23rd (knowing it wouldnt be there, but just wanted to get a feel for the automated system and if i had to press any prompts etc). i called again on the 26th. then the 29th (a monday) i called in the morning and was actually told it wasn't there yet...i called back again in the evening and was told it was received on the 27th LOL! and got my case number. clearly they don't always give accurate information. i was told yesterday that my case was sent to the embassy on july 2nd, but it was actually sent on june 29th or 30th. lol

in my opinion...evening is probably better to call, because if they didnt do anything with your case the day before, then your status is going to be the same when you call the next morning. but if you call in the evening, it's possible they'll have done something with your case that day. so definitely keep trying!!!

I did get through, Shellymarie, and a very nice woman told me it was taking 35 days. When I gave her my Receipt Number, she said "nothing yet". But I noticed you got yours very quickly, like 11 business days. Were you calling every day?

definitely agreed. it's unfortunate that trying to get any information out of USCIS in damn near impossible. they literally read off of a script and really don't veer away from it at all. i don't even know why they have a customer service department, because they certainly don't provide any service! all they do is give generic answers and refer you to the website blah blah blah. if you ask to speak to someone above them, you're facing a two hour hold time. but maybe in this case, it'll be worth it. good luck everyone

They are already processing June, there is no excuse for any April filers to still be waiting. It only takes them like 20 minutes to flip through a case. I would call. And get answers. Don't be afraid to stand your ground. This is a petition you paid for, and your hard earned tax money is what gives these officers a roof over their head. I'm going to call today, too.

If I were in the Texas Center, I'd know the wait was justified but this is CSC we are talking about... there is good reason to worry. What if they lost your case? That's a good reason to call. The five month rule is bullshit, we have plenty of evidence here on Visajourney showing actual times.

i'm really sorry you're going through that! i know, i know...the processing time is "5 months" blah blah blah...........but seriously! F that! it would be one thing if they were still just processing other april apps ahead of other april apps...but to completely skip a month!? not cool! once you get past this part of the process, the rest is much faster! i know that doesn't really help you feel better...but at least it's something to look forward to! let us know as soon as you hear anything!

Ahh, thanks! And yes, they just keep telling me they haven't received it yet and give me the standard "35 day wait" spiel. I keep thinking it should be ready any day now, so here's hoping it's this week!

yep! that's the right number. just a question...by "nothing" do you mean they don't have a case number for you yet? or just that you haven't been able to get through? because if it's just that you can't get through, you have to keep redialing...sometimes 30, 40, 50+ times in a row. even when you "get through" it's still an automated message at first, but it's different than the "busy" one. so just make sure you listen to it for a second before you hang up to redial. once you get through that, you might be on hold for up to 30+ minutes. but they "should" have a case number for you by now. my NOA2 was june 11th and the case number was assigned on the 27th. good luck!

I'm possibly just being impatient but I received my NOA2 on June 12 and I've called the NVC a handful of times after the two-week mark and still nothing. Just to make sure, I should be calling the 603-334-0700 number-- correct? They always start with that automated message about a non-immigrant line and I wasn't sure if that was the line I should have been calling all along.

terrible, terrible, terrible!! just can't believe this is happening! it makes no sense considering how many MAY applications have already been processed...like...hellooooo USCIS do you not still see all the outstanding APRIL applications?????????????

did you ever end up contacting congress? i know someone on here did, right? i wonder what the outcome was!

yayyy congrats! yes it's super exciting to be so close! but I still feel like I have a million things to do LOL! I mailed out all my paperwork to brazil today for my fiancé to bring with him!! eeeeeeeeeek I feel like I'm forgetting something lol!!

It's so exciting to be able to look at the CEAC and see the case in the Ready status.

Ours case status also went ready. We are so excited! I am just scrambling around trying to get everything printed and ready to send to him, before he ends up having his interview date set.

Now I am finally on hold. So I will just be hearing this "hold music" in my sleep tonight, instead of the guy's message...... but a small price to pay if they actually have my Case Number, which I doubt because it is only 2 weeks since NOA-2.

lol you just gotta keep redialing..................and then wait haha. i hit redial 19 times in a row today before i got in LOL then i was on hold for 30 minutes! GOOD LUCK!

Congratulations !!! How did you get through calling them? When I try to call the NVC, I get a recording telling me to call back later. Or did you get the official notice through the mail?

Yes, it will change to "ready" once the embassy has it.

As far as what to do after, that differs from country to country. In our case, our status changed to "ready", then the Paris embassy sent us packet 3 via e-mail 2 weeks later. That gave us the list of documents to bring, and instructions on how to schedule our interview and medical. Quick question: when will my case status be updated again on the CEAC website? As of right now, it says "in transit"...will it be updated again once the embassy receives/opens/does what they need to do with it? That's when it will say "ready" is that right? If so, from that point...is that when we just wait for the embassy to contact us, or is there something else we need to do?

Here I know that I have to send the papers in first and then they will schedule me a date for interview.. but idk if I can send it before they send me the instructions though...

same for me. i have everything ready, but unfortunately you can't do anything until you get notification from the embassy. and every country is different. some countries want you to send them the documents before the interview, others just want you to bring all the required documents to the interview.

I have a question... After having your case number, when can you sent your packet 3 to the embassy? You need to wait until the embassy get your case, or until they sent you the mail with the instructions you can't do anything? Because I already have almost all the papers for the packet 3 to be sent, but I wasn't sure when I can send it out once I get my case #! Any answer will be very appreciated!!

no. once your case gets to the NVC its there for 2-3 weeks. NVC sends your case to the embassy. the embassy sends packet 3. by calling NVC you can see if your case number has been assigned and if your case has been sent to the embassy. NVC is open at 7am until midnight. you just have to keep redialing until you get through.

just clarifying: you got "approved" on June 9th as in...your NOA2? your next step is to get through to NVC (no matter how long the wait time is) and see if you've been given a case number. if so then you can find out if your package was sent to your embassy. the packet 3 doesn't come until the embassy receives your case etc. if June 9th is the date of your NOA2, i wouldn't worry at all yet. just try to get through to NVC and take it from there

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive packet 3? We got approved june 9. I tried calling NVC, but it's so busy that i couldnt get a call from them. Starting to worry

Once I found what I thought was our package on the DHL tracking I called the NVC and asked them if our documents had been sent to the embassy yet. The NVC representative responded that yes, our package had just been sent to the embassy. They seemed somewhat surprised that I called them right after it had shipped!

I guess it is different requirements for different consulates. Your's is perfectly fine then without the picture. I found this other post and someone had the same question, another person from Brazil confirmed that you won't have the picture on the confirmation page and to just bring your passport photo to the interview.

Ours we uploaded the photo right at the beginning if I remember correctly. You should be able to re log into your application to verify that everything is accurate and complete if you wanted to.
