  1. Answer to questions number

    1. I can't help you here 'cause I am just planning to do it next week. I guess I'll just drop in. Here is the link for CFO seminar requirements: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/fs_manila.htm

    2. You can have your medical sooner than your schedule. Just bring your appointment letter. They need to see your Manila case number. I have read in the past posts that NOA2 is not accepted anymore for medical. You have to bring your passport, original and photocopy of your appointment letter, 3 pcs 2x2 pictures with your full name written at the back, black pen and payment.

    3. You can pay your document verification fee as soon as you know your case number cause you are going include that in your text message to delbros. Here is the link for the instructions: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfdelb.pdf

    4. I brought passport size pictures for my medical and they accepted it for my PDS forms but they did not accept anymore on my second day. They required me to give them 2 pcs 2x2 picture before they gave me my vaccination sheet. I have not heard of pictures having a blue background. The packet that I got from US embassy states that i need to submit 2 pcs 2x2 photographs and must be in color, glossy and have only a white or off-white background.

  2. hello everyone.

I am a newbie here, and I just want to hear something from you guys who undergone the same process from the USEM.

I'm not yet in the track but I'm just preparing myself for the long process.

Me and my fiance' has been together for 5 months. He will be here in the Philippines by May and we're planning to get married by June. We're just worried about the necessary documents that will proof our relationship. Since we talk everyday through a IM called skype, take note "everyday" through voice that's why we really dont exchange emails or even chat for a long time, or even exchange snail mails(duh!). If this would be one of the necessary proofs, we might be in the hot bowl right now. remittances and receipts of packages ok, I hope that's considerable, What should we start assembling as a proof of our continuous relationship?

Can you suggest what are the necessary preparations that we need to do prior of meeting each other?

Hope to hear something from you guys.

    thank you!

    perge

Since you are going to be married here, the docs you need are proof of on-going marital relationship. The proof prior to meeting each other is for fiancee visa so your major concern are proofs after you got married like marriage certificate(you don't need to wait for NSO copy for this and local civil registrar copy will be accepted for attachment to your petition papers), emails/snail mails(you still have lots of time to do this so i guess you and your partner should start doing this by now and discuss how its going to be after you get married, the date, guest lists, etc.), phone call logs, pictures together, wedding pictures, joint bank account certificate(your partner should bring his most recent bank statement from the US, its a bank requirement for foreigners to open an account) and medical insurance coverage for the wife once he changes his status from single to married. That is what I have right now. You better start reading the guides 'cause it will help a lot for your preparation.

  3. Roserick sorry if I had you confused with my post awhile back. Let me sum up what happened to my medical. I filled up the forms, paid the fee, medical staff took my blood pressure, tested my vision, doctor interviewed me and did the physical exam, blood and urine test and then xray. I was told to comeback the next day. Comes morning the next day, the guard will tell you on where to go next. I was told to get my xray result and then the staff at the xray section said that i can go to the immunization room. I had the vaccine on my right and left arm. The needle was painful on the right arm. They made me wait for the vaccination documentation worksheet at the ground floor where they took my passport and 2 pcs 2x2 pictures at the same time.

    I hope this helps :)

  4. Question...

Is 3 weeks before the Interview too early for getting an early medical?

Are they going to send my wife home if she showed up for Early Medical?

What are the typical reasoning for the guard to let you in for Early Medical?

Please give some advice.. Or wife is going to kill if she ask me this and I don't know what to say to her.. :D

I had it 5 weeks before the interview. They are not going to send your wife home if she shows her appointment letter to the guard. They will let her in and give her some forms to fill up so she must bring a black pen with her.

  5. Waiting for the results after immunization takes 2 hours or more.

Result? I never heard of that?

Immunization is not a test.. It is something you need if your missing some shots on your record..

    Maybe you mean clearance?

Immunization/Vaccination, i don't know what the medical term is but you need to have the measles, mumps and rubellla vaccines after you get your xray and physical exam result. Even if you had the vaccine when you were a kid, the medical staff would still give you that vaccine unless you already had them like a year ago. Its a requirement before you can travel to the US.

  6. Just a reminder, the second day of medical is not always fast. Meryll spent 5 hours at SLEC along with several other VJers last week. Hopefully, the second day will return to closer to two hours.

    Really.. What happened?

Yeah I also didn't get what "edp333" meant with this post...

Waiting for the results after immunization takes 2 hours or more.

  7. Guys i have another question here...i am done with my interview problem and now im going to ask abt my son.

since i can only petition my son after 3 years or so,is it possible for my husband to file a petition for him to follow me to USA soon?i am not leaving yet but my husband wants to file a petition for him by April..is it possible? and in what way?

    answers are really appreciated...thanks!

your husband can petition your son as his stepchild. if you download the form I-130, the instructions on how to petition a stepchild is there.

  8. I paid P6090 for me and P4914 for my daughter at SLEC last dec. 21, 2007.

Raquel just wanna ask if you you paid another 650 document verification for your daughter? Becuase i paid 1300 for the 2 of us. Whatta bout the visa payment? Do i have to pay double again for our K1-K2 visa?

    thanks..

I only paid 650 cause the document verification is for principal applicants only. For the visa payment you have to pay double.

  9. What if I get married in the Philippines without getting this LCTM?

You know like your wife's family knows the Mayor in their town, and Mayors have the power to marry couples.

    Can I get in trouble?

Its not the mayor who will issue you the license, its the Local Civil Registrar and they tend to abide by the rules imposed by the NSO. You may or may not have problems in the future but its a risk you will have to take against going to the US embassy and paying the fee. The US embassy does some background checks about your marriage record to NSO before your family will be given a visa.

  10. Purchase your tickets directly on the airline's website. My husband has been using www.evaair.com for the past 3 years. I have looked at hot e-fare section and so far the lowest price I could find for my daughter and me totals to $978.60 one way trip to Los Angeles with one-hour stop at Taipei. I have looked at PAL and it will cost us $1,278.80 to fly direct to LA, no stops.

    I don't think that's cheap..

Agencies tend to be more cheaper..

The price I posted are for 2 persons(me and my daughter)so its cheaper. I have asked my former co-workers about it and they are more expensive. I used to work in a travel agency.

  11. Thanks....this all is very helpful  Just want to stay on top of this and start checking now.

Be careful when you'll book online.Danny had a bad experince when he booked me ( prepaid) last month on cheapo. After the ticket was printed out, he was overcharged with $150 and was so mad at them. He called their office and demanded a cancellation and a refund. He had me purchased my ticket here instead directly at Northwest office and i guess we got a fair price.

  12. I have researched the rules and process for getting married to my girlfriend in the Philippines. She is 20 so needs to get Parents Consent. What is this really? A form that both mother and father sign and then notorized or is this a form letter, once again signed by the parents? Does anyone have a sample copy of something I can use, resource or otherwise to check this block.

It's a little complicatted as her father lives in Manila and her Mother in Mindinau. So will have to get two letters or have them both sign the same one?

    Suggestions advice aprpeaciated.

    Thanks

You can ask the Local Civil Registrar about that and they will give you instructions on how to do it. Meanwhile you need the Affidavit Legal Capacity to Marry first from the US embassy before you can apply for a marriage license. You will pay $20 for that I think. I can't remember the exact amount but you need to swear in front of the american officer before he signs the document. The Local Civil Registrar will not issue you a marriage license if you don't have the affidavit.

  13. I'm not sure but I have read somewhere here that you could now send K3 at the same time with CR1, but in different address of course. If that is not the case, you could do what we did. Once we saw online that the check was cashed, we printed the front and back of the check from the bank's website and that's what we used to submit with the K3 instead of waiting for the NOA1 of I-130.

  14. for example lucky enough i get medical and schedule interview..

in st. lukes manila ? and you have your period .. or you get sick that day of interview

can you reschedule so there would be no problem on the results of medical?

who then need to consult and procedures.

You can have your medical 2-4 weeks before the schedule. Just bring your appointment letter, 3 pcs 2x2 pictures, payment and a black pen. St. Lukes staff will instruct you what to do if there is something wrong with your medical results.

  15. Hello! Has anyone tried staying in an apartment or house for the short stay during Medical and Interview schedule? I know there are a lot of these all over the area but a recommendation is highly appreciated. We're kind of tight in the budget with all the travel expenses and soon plane ticket fare. It's not just me by the way, I have three companions too. Please give me the contact # so I can get in touch with them. Thanks!!!

Are you familiar with the area along mabini st., particularly san andres to u. n. avenue? I could recommend a place for you that is safer and affordable. You can choose a room with aircon or a ceiling fan. There is a catch though, only women can be accepted there cause its a dormitory manage by nuns. I have lived there myself for the past six years while I was working in Makati and they accept transients. Its 5-10 minutes of jeepney ride to get to SLEC and US embassy. You will not be lost because you can read the street signs on every street. I will help you with the directions if ever you choose this option.

There is a hotel near SLEC, its Cheery Blossoms Hotel but I could not afford their rates on a long term basis so I choosed Adriatico Pension Inn. Just in front of Robinsons Manila. Their rate is P1206 with breakfast for 2, hot shower, tv with cable and aircon. Good for 2 persons only but if there will be 3 of you, you will have to add P200 or P300(i'm not sure about the exact price but its in between those two) for the other person to be included in the room and breakfast. From the inn, i have to walk along adriatico street to j. bocobo st. to get to SLEC.
