  1. has anybody been on the USCIS ELLIS website and have problems paying the $165 fee??? everytime I type in the information ( A- number and DOS case number) a notice keeps appearing that they cannot find my A-number and DOS case. how is that possible. site maybe down? I already contacted customer service through there and asked them about it so im just waiting for a response. just wanted to know if anybody had the same problem.

I just paid some minutes ago. There was no glitch whatsoever. What web browser are you using?

  2. You hide under "RepWatUSow" and come here to mention someone's real name in claims that they committed fraud meanwhile you are not the victim or the culprit.

next time when you want to put someone on blast here because you can, pls let us know who you are and how you are directly involved in this. Anybody can come on here and say whatever they like about someone for some personal grudge or reason.

But do not get me wrong, you can continue trying to prove your case but Vj TOS disallows this in the manner u are going abt it.

I totally agree with you. Using someone's real name was a bad way to go about reporting an alleged fraudulent case. Some people on this forum already thought I was the alleged fraudster. They claimed our names are similar. I had to be explaining to them I'd never do such a thing. I am a US citizen and I did not obtain my citizenship by scamming anyone. I am happily married to my wife who will join me here very soon.

  3. Here is some solid information that says nothing:

(an e-mail response of the congressional inquiry that our Senator's staff sent to the NVC about our case a while back)

We received all of the necessary forms and documents and completed our processing of this case. Mr. X’s case is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Consulate General in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We are unable to predict when this case will be scheduled for an immigrant visa appointment. We determine our scheduling based on the capacity provided to us by the U.S. Consulate General. Ms. X and Mr. X will be notified by mail or email when an immigrant visa appointment is scheduled. Unfortunately, the NVC cannot provide an estimated timeframe for when an interview appointment will be scheduled.

When we speak to the NVC, they are waiting on the Embassy. The embassy says they are waiting on the NVC. We just keep waiting......

That, right there drove me nuts. NVC and the Embassy treats you like ping pong ball. It's really hard to tell who's not saying the truth.

  4. Received notice via e mail that NVC "received all of the information necessary and will be notified of interview time"...in Lagos. I assume this means this part is approved and we wait for the interview to be scheduled? I was wondering too, will I be notified when the information gets from NVC to the Embassy? From what I am seeing, once it is there, the interview is usually scheduled for IR1 cases within about 4-6 weeks. Is that correct? So many questions! lol

Oh I didn't know you already got a "case complete" email. Now, you only have to wait till they schedule your interview. Once they do that, they will mail your case documents to Lagos. NVC will send you an email including the interview appointment letter as an attachment. They usually schedule interviews within 4 - 6 weeks like you mentioned but there are incredibly slow these days. There are people who have been waiting for interview since June 16 (I'm talking about Lagos Consulate here). Almost there...hang on!

  5. Oh my goodness!! What is going on with Mexico?! Or better ciudad Juarez!! They are taking forever to give out their schedules for September and it's not like they'll have many dates anyway cause of all the U.S. AND MEXICAN holidays but they should get their stuff together! I just called and nothing. Been waiting with cc since April how much longer will my husband and I have to wait. We just celebrated anniversary over Skype and it sucked. We thought by this time in August we'd already be living together.

I feel for you, A LOT. It is just so unfair that you have been waiting for an interview since April. I don't know what I'd be doing by now if I were in your shoes. I pray for good news for you very very soon. Hang in there.

  6. Many cases take longer to be completed not because the applicants did something wrong, but very often because the USCIS/NVC messed something up along the way.

If you think logically, people with older priority dates have been away from their spouses for much longer. I doubt anyone would do that on purpose..

We have done everything right the first time, just like you. We overnighted everything to USCIS and NVC, paid fees the minute they were available, triple-checked all forms.

We never got a RFE or a Checklist for anything we did wrong, but we've been unlucky to:

    - have our I-130 sent to the Nebraska Service Center (which is never faster than 5 months for the NOA2);

    - dealt with NVC's website issues that prevented us from filling our DS-260 for over a month;

    - had the NVC lose our police certificates (even though we wrote the case number on the top corner, as advised). We had to mail again, adding another 30 days for review;

I totally agree with you, toozler. Our I-130 took the usual 5 months in Nebraska; then NVC got the approved case in January and immediately messed up my name and my wife's date of birth (took a while to get those fixed); I was about getting ready to fill DS-260 when NVC decided to send our already-approved case back to USCIS (called USCIS and was told they had no idea why the case was sent back); we lost about 2 months in the process; we later got a checklist for not filling out DS-260 (a document NVC would not make available because the case was sent back to USCIS); finally completed DS-260 and it took them 50 days to review.

So, if there were no mistakes by NVC on our case, we probably would have had CC in April.

  7. It is incredible how you have to wait for I don't know how many months and all if a sudden you're in a rush! Hope you'll make it in time. Congrats!

Actually, I wasn't in a rush all of a sudden. I have been requesting for expedited processing since our case was at USCIS but we never had luck to get approved but I never gave up. We got it after 12 months. Besides, I haven't filed my 2014 tax. So the earlier she gets here the better.

  8. it look like we have the same interview date, my wife interview is on Thursday 08/20, 6:30 am. she went for her medical on Teusday, they told her to come for the result on Monday. Goodluck

Good luck to you too bro. Where did your wife have her medicals? My wife will go to Children's Practice tomorrow because I saw on Q-life's website that it takes 5 business days for the result to be ready after an exam. That's rather too late for us.

  9. Did you request to speak to a supervisor just like that and they put you through? Every time when my husband asked to speak to a supervisor, the answer is always 'all the supervisors are at a meeting and none is available at the moment blah blah blah...' :(

Yes, most of the time I got transferred over because I insisted to be put on hold even if it took 2 hours. After telling them that, they would ask me to hold on for a while and then come back to connect me to a supervisor.

  10. Nigeria you might want to call oluandolu CC 6/19 got date (they are an expedite) but still seeing they stopped at CC 6/4 go for it. Report back.

Hi all. I have learned over the past 12 months on this journey that perseverance is an important attribute one must have. I never gave up and I have God backing me up. If I told my wife the details of all I have gone through in the hands of USCIS and NVC, she would think I'm a superhero :)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting August interview because I thought August was filled up last month but my wife's interview is now only 7 days away! Now, we'll be on the rush to get her medicals done in the next 2 days so the result can be ready before Thursday.

We are fully aware that this "battle" in not yet over - there is one final hurdle to scale. But we believe God will perfect everything He has started in our lives. Counting down to the day I see my lovely wife again at the airport (don't know which one yet :))

Thank you dwheels and thanks to everyone on this forum. You alll rock!

  11. Great, thanks so much for the response!

While we're on the topic, what are good reasons to get an expedite? I want to ask for an expedite but I can't think of anything=/ I just don't think it's fair to have to wait more than 6 months just to get an interview date.

    Anyone?

Your case can be expedited for interview based on two main reasons that I know of: (1) emergency medical situation of which you have to provide a letter from a medical doctor, and (2) you are a member of the US Armed forces deploying overseas and you have to provide your deployment orders. There can be other situations which would be at the discretion of the US embassy or consulate to either approve or disapprove.

  12. A lot of people are having troubles with NVC. It's not an Armenian thing, it's an NVC thing.

My husband and I have been stuck at NVC since end of February, so five months and counting now. I submitted my DS-260 on April 25th, it hasn't been reviewed for 100 days... We were also put for supervisor review around the same time as you and still waiting to hear something. Supervisor review takes about 45 days, which means we should hear something next week. In theory...

In my opinion, NVC is the hardest part of this whole journey, if you're unlucky and get the wrong person reviewing your case. With the wrong person, documents can be lost, wrong checklists can be sent or you can get checklisted for something you know others have got case complete for. You've just got to deal with it because there is nothing you can do about it. As wrong as it is, NVC has a lot of power, your case will not be scheduled for an interview until they say so. What I've learnt from NVC is to just do what they ask and NEVER EVER get put on supervisor review.

Hope we all hear something very soon.

My DS-260 was also put under supervisor review but I refused to listen to the same old story representatives tell people. I demanded to speak with a supervisor after a rep told me it takes 45 days. Fortunately, the rep transferred me to a supervisor (some of them will not transfer you). When I spoke with the supervisor, he asked me if I had filled out DS260 and I replied "yes" and then he told me he would review it. That same day, I got my long awaited "case complete".

This is to show you that sometimes, nothing happens on your case until you speak with a supervisor.

    Good luck to you!

  13. Hey guys,

it's so weird. Our petition was approved on June 10.

My husband is currently deployed. He tried to call the NVC but it's hard to reach anyone due to the time difference and his work schedule...

What other options do we have? We are really getting anxious...and it's also bothering me.

I know that the I130 cases have to wait up to a year until they get their Visa but as far as I know we should at least have heard something from the NVC ?!

    What can we do now?

    TIA

    Hi.

I agree with what others have told you, asking you to call NVC. Keep dialing until you get through. Here is my other piece of advice: When you have your case number and Invoice Identification Number, ask your husband, as soon as he gets the chance, to email NVC for expeditious processing at NVCExpedite@state.gov

He will have to put your case number in the subject line and attach a copy of his military orders that took him overseas to the email. The body of the email must include your names and dates of birth. He must also state the reason why he is requesting expeditious processing.

Good luck to you guys. Please ask if you need further help.

  14. Because there was a bunch of CC's still in May that got the August slots and August was full up after that. Now we wait for September. Why would NVC withhold anyone from interviews from an embassy unless the embassy tells them to.

Hopefully some embassies will start September.

Like earlier stated August really is Tourist and Student month very few CR1/IR1 slots are ever open. I predict that CC's will start about the June 9 and stop at about June 14. Usually its about 1 week.

The reason why I said NVC holds cases up is because I got an approval from Lagos consulate to expedite the process. So I called NVC to ask if they had sent the case to Nigeria for interview but the person I spoke with told me a supervisor is "reviewing it to verify that the case is documentarily complete". And I was like: That is just ridiculous. What is there to review again? The status is obviously showing in their system that the case is completed since June so I just don't understand what they are doing. What made me mad the most was the customer rep telling me that the "review" could take up to 30-40 days. Imagine that!
