Dwheels76, please I got a quick question, I have done my medicals, do I need to contact the embassy for anything, or I just have to wait for my appointment date and just go for the interview.
Which of the two medical exam venues did you go? I want to know how fast the process is and the entire amount they collected from you. My wife will soon be going for her medicals. Also, how many days after the exam did you wait before obtaining the result?
Thanks.

Wow...no we have not met yet hence the reason we are trying to work this all out. I'm sorry that I filed before figuring everything 100% out. I've been scrutinized and yelled at several times for making this mistake. People have been very rude about it. I'm just trying to work with what I have now and find a way to make it work without having to start all over again with fees and #######. I DON'T have the money for all of this. I realize you all feel the same way and Yes, I have to have money in order to bring him here. I've heard it all before. BUT, I'm a full time college student working multiple jobs and about to have surgery. I CAN'T afford all these fees nor can I afford airfare back and forth. I can't go to him right now because of the surgery and being unable to travel out of the country. He is a full time master's student as well and doesn't have a job (unemployment in Nigeria is way worse than in America). He has been doing side jobs, borrowing from his parents and looking into getting a loan to pay for all the fees and his airfare here but, can't afford several trips and/or paying for me to go back and forth.
This post and all my posts before this have been simple questions from those who have already done this. I appreciate feedback and help but, I don't appreciate the rude remarks and people treating me badly or as if I don't know anything. Yes, I've made mistakes but, that is why I'm here trying to learn and find ways to work with what I have. Thank you to those of you who have helped and are supportive about it.
I am sorry about the responses that aren't supportive like you pointed out and I understand how you feel. It's really difficult when you are pursuing an important goal and are presented with obstacles. The last time I saw my wife was two days after our wedding in Nigeria and it's been over a year now. I appreciate the many helpful answers I have received on this forum. They have made this journey a bit easier for me. I believe things will work out for you with prayers and the support you get from here. Don't give up. Remember, where there's a will, there's a way!
Cheers!

As far as I know and can see its pretty short. When scheduling starts seems people for Sweden get dates.
The thing that gets people confused is some assume interview assignment is constant throughout the month and its not. Its a select few days to a week or two and they are done. When you get your date is all based on when you get case complete.
Most embassies have sent in at least 2 months in advance their calendar with available slots for Visa types. It's based on Case Complete and your PD date you get the dates that are assigned.
Next week September should start up. Every embassy doesn't start at same time. Philippines usually is always on the ball and are the first to start. India, Canada, UK. Mexico usually the last to schedule. So when I start seeing interviews scheduled (I am a stalker and looking) I announce here start calling NVC and see if your embassy has started.
Even calling NVC sometimes to ask if your embassy has started scheduling yields no result. These customer representatives always respond with the same statement: "Your case is complete and waiting for interview. You will be notified when the interview is scheduled". And then they expect you to hang up. Seriously?! Someone had been waiting on phone for over an hour to speak to you to find out many details about his/her case and all you could say to him/her is just some few generic words. I mean, it is totally not cool.

Dhweel I'm sorry I'm trying to say june CC will surly hv a slot for september?
I hope so because I don't see any May CC on the spreadsheet still awaiting interview, unless they are not registered on VJ. We're about 7 on the spreadsheet with June CC waiting for interview, I believe we all should get slots for September. I can even see one June CC already scheduled for next month. So there is green light
I have to file my 2014 tax by Oct 15 so I can't afford my wife not to have been here in September. God help us all.

Hi,
You mark "yes" because each has his/her own case. They are not immigrating based on the underlying visa petition for each other.
Separate cases. Nothing is together for them.
Best of luck
Thanks!

I am trying to complete I-864EZ and I am unsure of whether to answer yes or no to the question in Part 1©: "The sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the underlying visa petition".
I have separate petitions for my parents and both of them will be immigrating at the same time. Do I answer "yes" to the question, or "no"?

I completed the DS260 right before they sent me a checklist for DS260. So I called NVC to make sure anything else missing. It turned out they lost my benificiary passport biographic date page. I just sent it in. Another 30days delayed
I am sorry to hear that. You never know what to expect from NVC. Hang in there. Ok?
-
We are waiting on an appointment too. As my fiance says, it is well.
You guys are K-1, I don't think you should be waiting for interview. K-1 people schedule their own interviews.
-
About 3 days. Our case complete was just a few days ahead of yours, and since our interview is in late-Aug, it's a good guess yours should be in early to mid-Sept. But we're entering a very busy period (student visa interviews are at their peak) so....
Best of luck.
Yeah I think August slots are mostly reserved for student visas since most schools in the US start Fall semester in August. I had my student visa interview in August about 5 years ago too and there were so many of us at that time. I am believing God to bring my wife here latest September ending so I can file my 2014 tax. In God I trust.

Meaning at the end of the month interviews are announce like they always are usually. Last month Scheduling for some embassies started 6/24. I suspect it will be probably 7/27 or so. End of the month.
Thank you, again. Please can you give me the link where I can get these info. I'd like to know how many, on the average, K-1, K-3 and IR-1/CR-1 interviews are scheduled for each month.
-
Yes August slots are filled. September calendar they are filling and end of month scheduling will be announced. This from the VO on Nairaland not me. But I kind of figured they were done last week.
Thank you for your reply. Please can you tell me what you mean by "end of month scheduling will be announced"?

Hello, fellow Nigeria "visa pilgrims"
.
Does anyone know whether or not Lagos has started scheduling IR-1/CR-1 interviews for August? I tried to inquire from NVC but they said their system was shut down and couldn't give me any info.
Thanks.

Yes, just contact NVC by phone or by email. Calling is probably your best option. Good luck to you!

Hi guys,
I submitted both AOS n IV documents last month on June and also DS260 show completed 2 days ago.
Today i received the email checklist requirements missing documents

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: APPLICANT
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
______CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS:_________________________________
When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.
______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________
All traveling immigrant visa applicants on your case are required to complete and submit the DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application. Even if you previously filled out a DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Form, you must now complete the DS-260 in order to be eligible for a visa interview.
You will find instructions for submitting all required forms and supporting civil documents on our website http://nvc.state.gov/.
Please note the applicant will need the following information to access and complete DS-260:
NVC case number
Invoice identification number
Beneficiary identifcation number for each traveling applicant " END OF QUOTE
Questions:
1> Does it mean that they lost all my forms and civil documents ?
2. Should I disregard the DS260 ?
Or This requirement checklist just requires me to submit DS260 only
Is someone in the same situation ?
If your CEAC status is showing that your DS-260 is completed then you should disregard the checklist. It was probably generated before your case status was updated. I also do not think they lost your supporting documents. The only "missing document" in your checklist is the DS-260. So, you have nothing to worry about.
-
They make this whole process very frustrating. They should not be allowed to say anything that isn't true or have people working for them that don't know answeres to our questions. Where are you guys at now as far as your case goes?
We are waiting for NVC to schedule the interview. All documents review have been completed.

I believe NVC does all these to slow down one's case. After 5 months at USCIS, my case finally arrived at NVC. I completed DS-261, paid AOS fee, mailed to them financial and civil docs and paid IV fee. I was waiting to fill out DS-260 and all of a sudden, my case status on CEAC showed the case had been sent back to USCIS for administrative processing (AP). I immediately called NVC to ask what was going on. How on earth could a case that had not gone to the embassy/consulate be placed under AP. They told me to contact USCIS as they could not provide me any info about the case any longer.
So, I called USCIS to ask why the already approved case was sent back to them. They told me they had no idea and that as far as they were concerned my case was approved and good to go. I lost almost 2 months in the process and NVC would not allow to complete DS-260 during that period. The funniest thing was that NVC sent me a checklist for not completing DS-260 and that my case would be delayed if I did not complete the form. And I was like how would I complete a form that you would not make available for me to fill out?.
This process is just a joke. Agreed there is only one NVC attending to millions of applications but at least they should be honest and treat people who want to be with their loved ones with respect and deserved courtesy.
#Rant over...phew!

Thank you so much! That makes me so sad that the lyrics are the man's name! Oh mannnn lol
That song is beautiful though!
Actually, "Yetunde" is the woman's name. You could put your fiance's name in place of "Yetunde" and it would still sound right.

Can anyone write the Yoruba lyrics and translate them for me? It would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to surprise my fiance with something so I can't ask him!
Thank you for any help! I've looked and I cannot find these lyrics in English or Yoruba anywhere online!

You're telling me?! I have never in my life dealt with an agency whose processes are extremely bureaucratic. They behave in a "no one can question me" manner. Their customer representatives are so rude and lack empathy. I am just happy I'm almost done with them.
-
Hello everyone.
Am new here.
My case has been completed on 16 June, waiting for the interview date too.
Nice! Hope we get notified in July of interview dates.
-
can you tell me in full details what each packet has to contain specifically? i really don't want to make a mistake here. i'm planning on sending this on monday
you will have to submit just ONE packet (not two). The single packet will contain financial documents and supporting documents. Follow the links below for what to include as financial and supporting documents:
-
Submit both packets according to the document cover sheet NVC sent you. Make sure you mark each document appropriately as "enclosed", "not applicable" or "unavailable".
-
You might want to ask to be transfered to a supervisor. My DS260 was also submitted on May 1st and it was put under supervisor review on June 1st when I called to ask about the status. I kept calling NVC operators but they told me the same story: "please be patient, a supervisor is reviewing your DS260" until June 19th when I asked an operator to transfer me over so I can speak with a supervisor. I was able to talk to a supervisor who reviewed the document on the spot. I got my case complete that same day. If an operator tells you there's no supervisor around you can speak with, tell him or her you would like to be placed on hold even if it takes 2 hours for you to get transferred over. That would show them you really mean business and that you're no longer interested in the generic information they (the operators) provide everytime.

My case is still saying at NVC and my husband's interview is next week. I promise I hate NVC and if they don't have time to review our case. Come on!!
I'm telling you, this is the most frustrating experience I've had in my life! I can't wait to get this process over with and then I heave a sigh of relief.....phewww
August 2015 Interviews
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I just wonder why NVC is not scheduling Lagos interviews. There are many CCs since early June still awaiting interview dates whereas a Visa Officer from Lagos Consulate said they had sent interview slots for August and September to NVC since the first week of this month. I am just having a feeling that NVC is deliberately holding up our cases. Not cool at all.
