heh I'm here with you all in spirit. Have faith. I heard absolutely nothing, no biometrics or anything, until six weeks ago, and I was approved last week. They're working through them and you'll hear soon.

So I got an email this morning that action had been taken, and when I checked my case has updated to New Card Is Being Produced, dated yesterday. Woot!

Applied to the CSC in Feb 18, heard literally nothing (beyond getting my 12mo then 18mo then another 18mo extension letter) until early this July. Had biometrics in the St Louis field office on July 16, 2019. Then nothing again until this update. They didn't even update to say they'd done the biometrics. I went 17mo on Case Received/We Can't Issue an Update. No interview, no RFE. Which honestly shocks me because we both work from home running independent businesses, and the only things we own jointly/have our names on together is a car and health insurance. We're literally together 24/7 but can't really prove it, so I threw the kitchen sink in with the supporting evidence and it must have worked.

I called USCIS re:infopass. They told me to call within 30 days of the extension letter expiring to schedule an infopass. Hope this helps others in the same boat.

Pray? lol. It's frustrating, I'm supposed to be visiting the fam in Sept/Oct but at this rate it won't happen because I've checked all the field offices in the surrounding states and none of them are accepting appointments or walk-ins, so apparently getting your passport stamped anywhere in the midwest just ain't happening.

Finally heard something from DHS 🎉 I have my biometrics appointment on the 16th. Both web portals still showing unable to update/case received. This is the first contact I've had since applying other than the 18m extension.

Not a peep :( still stuck on "at this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case." Not even heard about biometrics.

I came in on my expired green card and 18m extension letter via Philly earlier this week. The expired card doesn't work with the machines so I got to jump the queue and go straight to an agent (woop!). She was training a new agent so I listened in as she explained the process for dealing with an expired GC and extension letter. Basically they're to look the letter over and if they think it's legit, they stamp us in. If they aren't sure, "send them back." I about died but I think in the end that meant send the traveller for secondary screening where someone else will take more time looking into the letter. She said to the other agent "we send them back all day long" like it wasn't a big deal and just what she should do if she ever wasn't sure of anything. So there's probably a fair chance of additional scrutiny (at least at PHL) if you have a less experienced agent. However she looked my letter over very quickly front and back and stamped me in in less than 5 minutes.

I got mine around the 22nd June, dated the 18th (from the CSC). But I'm still waiting on biometrics, so I'm counting myself as behind the curve.

I'm taking an extra suitcase with clothes, but I'm looking at shipping several hundred hardback books. I won't get many of them on a plane Typically, they're too rare/expensive to simply leave in the UK and replace, too heavy for a suitcase, but not bulky enough for cargo, lmao.
