  1. Hello,

Are 2 yr olds required to attend the CFO/PDOS seminar? Are they also required to have a sticker from CFO/PDOS Seminar on their passports? I'm thinking of attending the CFO/PDOS seminar alone (my 2yr old son is my derivative) because he's not going to understand anything from the seminar anyway. How will i be able to get a sticker for him if he's not attending? Can i just bring his passport and get a sticker on his behalf?

    Thanks all in advance.

  2. Hello,

My interview is on Nov10 and i am worried because I still have not received an email from the US embassy saying that they have received my docs from NVC. i checked ceac and it says there "ready" and that my docs are with the embassy now.

But until now, i havent received any email similar to this one...

"Congratulations on your upcoming immigrant visa interview. Your file is now with the U.S. Embassy in Manila and we have had a chance to review it. Based on our review, you need to bring the following documents with you to your interview"

Should i be worried? Does everyone really get this type of email from the embassy?

    Pls help. Thanks all!

  3. Hello all,

Put cling wraps on ur luggages. That is what i will definitely do. Kasi sometimes, they're still able to slip bullets in the zipper even if there's a lock on ur luggages. Pag tinusok mo ung middle part of the zipper with a ballpen, it will open up easily and mahuhulog pa din nila yung bala sa loob. So just wrap it cling wraps multiple times and lets pray na ma spare tayo sa ganyang modus.

    God bless us all :)

  4. Thanks for ur reply, Dave.

So just to summarize, if we go there on exactly our second wedding anniv, our GC should be permanent (good for 10yrs) because we have reached (on that day) our second year of marriage. We are only to get the conditional status if it's LESS than 2 yrs. so 2 yrs and above should automatically get LPR (10yr gc). Did i get it right?

    Thank you. :)

  5. She flies to the U.S. on Thursday.

OP, not to worry you but to lend some very recent experience to this....

My fiancee completed CFO her and got her certificate, they would not give her the sticker because they said they wanted to research some things...whatever that means. She went back three days later and they told her they wanted a copy of my birth cert and she gave it to them that day. It was another week before they gave her the sticker. My situation is not the norm but there are stories like this if you look deep in the forums. It took about two weeks from seminar to get her sticker, though she got the cert the same day. She flew here last week after that fiasco...and now we have to deal with CBP here because immigration didn't take her yellow packet...I have it at the house. Yes, I know what is and isn't in the mysterious packet...and I learned some things about the process after seeing what's in there. Anyway, hopefully you fair better than she. I would definitely bring in the airline confirmation/form.

I also plan to monitor my credit the next year or so....lol

So whats inside the mysterious packet? :D

  6. I would wait! Dealing with USCIS is a pain, and if waiting six weeks is the difference between paying fees, filling out forms, keeping a paper record of your life for the next two years to prove you have a real marriage, and possibly having to do an interview, etc..... I would just wait.

Same sentiments here! My husband is so done with having anything to do with paperworks. And i think it would be easier for me to build my credit score when i get there when i have my own credit cards and not joint credit cards with my husband.

Oh well. I feel a little better hearing what you all have to say. :)

  7. I know! It's very tempting really. Had it not been for the holidays and my son's second bday, then I wouldnt have any worries about waiting for a few more weeks.

And actually, it would be cheaper for us to fly right away, given that my son is still below 2 yrs old, he's going to be free [we're thinking of flying through PAL bcoz it has no stopovers :)]. Its just $735 as compared to $2100 (on a weekend) or $1700 (on a weekday) to wait until January.

I think the cost for the petition to remove the conditional residence is $505 plus $85 biometrics. I am more worried about encountering problems or worse getting denied the petition to remove the conditional residence. Thats why im more leaning to wait just a few more weeks for our second yr wedding anniv.

    :)

  8. Hey guys,

Just a curious question, if your second wedding anniversary is just a month and a half away from the time your visa is issued, would you rather wait for your second wedding anniversary before flying to the US so you'd automatically be stamped as a permanent resident? Or would you rather just fly right away and be stamped as a conditional resident?

Just curious as to what your takes would be? December is a very tempting month to just fly out and be with my husband during christmas. Plus december is my son's second bday. Well here is just assuming we will get our visa by the end of nov (praying here) :)

    Thanks!

  9. Hello nicalord, its due to lack of income of my husband its 2014 itr is low...they didnt give us checklist regarding with the aos or need joint sponsor,,,and even the interview letter they gave to us there is no indicated that we need joint sponsor...but we submit already at the U.S manila embassy and status update date was change twice oct.5 and oct.7 seems they working on it...i hope and praying that we Get our visa soon..God is testing our faith! Just believe in Him.

    Congratulations!! Finally all is good!

  10. May i know when u submitted ur AOS and financial evidence to NVC?

Because I think maybe when u submitted ur AOS to NVC, you are still meeting the minimum income using the old version of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

I just checked USCIS and i see that the Federal Poverty Guidelines was updated last march 1, 2015. So maybe u submitted ur AOS to NVC before march 1,2015 and maybe during that time you are looking at the old version of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. And probably the reason why u didnt get a checklist from NVC is because during the time that u submitted ur AOS to them, you are still meeting it based on the old version.

So i guess we should all check when we submitted our AOS to NVC and see if we are still meeting the minimum income based on the documents we sent them using the most updated Federal Poverty Guidelines.

    Here is the link:

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Because mine, i remember that the AOS we submitted has an income of 48k which is to support a household of 5 (me, husband, son and my husband's mom and dad, because we used them as household members). So looking at the most updated Federal Poverty Guidelines, we are still meeting the household income for 5 which should be 35k.

So guys maybe we should all check and see if we are still meeting the income requirements. if you know that you're not meeting the poverty guidelines anymore based on the most recent Federal Poverty Guidelines from USCIS, then maybe we should start preparing our new i-864 together with sponsors and other financial evidence and bring them to the interview.

  11. Im not sure about that, but for what i have known is it forms must be download online...but u can ask other if it is acceptable...im not sure about that but read this i hope it will help you the letter they send to my husband

    - so during ur interview, you were asked to give this. Yes u need to give the original form with signatures of the i-864 and i-864 of the joint sponsor or i864a if its a household member

But were u able to send this to them when u submitted or aos or not?

  13. Guys unfortunately my visa refused they need original document of my joint sponsor and w2 with clear copy of green card and they need letter from my family in case we are going to stay with our families or contract in case of lease a house one more point they told me to let my wife travel before me to USA

They told me to come back when all the above ready

    Hi sam,

Just want to ask if you were given a checklist prior to ur interview sched or were u already case completed? Why is the embassy just asking this from u now? And the contract of lease, were they asking for a proof that u and ur family will be living in that same address together?
