  1. I by no means intend to flood the forums as I am sure this is something that gets asked quite often but to give my Fiancee peace of mind I told her I would ask others on here as the feeling of personal support from others helps.

Me and my Japanese fiancee filed our I-129F packet on Oct. 10th 2014 and I received in the mail NOA-1 on Oct. 16th 2014 confirming the packet was received. Now being April 19th and we are at 185 days and no NOA-2 yet. We check the status on the USCIS site every couple of days to ensure we don't miss anything and we are setup for email/text alerts.

I know there are many on here who have had to wait longer than us but we are just getting nervous. Is it possible something is wrong with the case/they lost it etc? I just don't want anything to go too long without taking any action but I also don't want to act prematurely.

We tripled checked everything, made sure everything that needed signed was signed, provided pictures of us together, and me with her family in Japan on a recent vacation there, evidence of having met multiple times within the past 2 years in the US and Japan and everything else required in the I-129F packet.

Thanks and hoping for the best for everyone else on here and their journey :)

  2. Congratulations to all those approved! The next steps feel like warp speed after this long dark void.

Guyla, and all others still awaiting approval, yes, it's unacceptable. In the absence of any comforting words to offer, we give you this: We will stay on this thread until ALL September filers are approved. We can relate to the torment, heartache and frustration of this inexcusable wait and when we were left behind, you were all here for us. We're sticking around for you.

I second this. I hope to see everyone on the approval thread soon and later the AOS thread, Removal of Conditions and eventually Citizenship. It's comforting knowing other people are going through the same BS

  3. I am not even saying anything bad about Muslims, just that his expectations for you will be uncomfotable for you as a non-Muslim to handle. Furthermore, he seems to not be a secular-minded Muslim, which would make a big difference. Please don't bring him over thinking that he will change/convert. Accept his religion and the role it will play in your life before making the marriage leap. Otherwise you will be extremely unhappy. Also realize that people tend to become more conservative in their beliefs as they age, so take that for what it's worth. Good luck on your journey.

  4. This is very much not true. I am 21 years older than my husband, I am divorced with 2 children, totally different culture, different religion. Age was NEVER an issue or ever mentioned throughout our entire journey. We never had any RFEs, petition was approved quickly, sailed through NVC and his interview was 7 months after NOA2. He has been here 2 and a half years, removed conditions without an rfe or interview and now he is preparing for citizenship in July. I wish people would stop with the nonsense, telling couples with a significant age gap with the woman being older that there is a a big chance they will be denied merely because she is older just is NOT true. Time and time again, over and over on this site we see these types of couples APPROVED. The consulate looks at the entire picture and no one can be denied based on age difference alone. We have yet to see a single couple ever denied for an age difference. The consulate wants to see an ongoing, bonafide relationship. If you don't have enough evidence to back up the relationship that reason for denial, not age.

Well good for you. Not everyone can be so lucky. African consulates are among the toughest for visa issuance, so whatever was ignored in your case may be heavily scrutinized in hers. Cultural norms are very important in African consulates, and if you have read reviews of those that have endured them you would realize that the embassies there factor in familial acceptance and cultural practices often times to the detriment of the beneficary.

  5. I don't mean to be a downer either, but I was just wondering the same thing. After reading some other posts today I started thinking about background checks and how they influence the order in which approvals are made. There appear to be two lists of countries which experience higher levels of scrutiny (unfortunately Russia is one of them) and, at least for student visas, people who study certain fields may have their applications significantly delayed because of these security checks. All this is for foreign citizens applying for US visas, but I assume it applies for I-129F petitions too.

your theory would make sense if Russian petitions were delayed at the CSC too, but they aren't (from what I gather). The TSC is downright cruel and unsual punishment regardless of nationality.

  6. Hi VJ Members,

My father will be applying for a visit visa to US in a couple of months. Last year in May he applied for a visit visa and was denied because he could not show strong ties with the country of his residence.

This time around he should be able to show strong ties by showing the evidence of the property he owns and the bank balance. He did not have any bank account last year so we had to set up a new account and he has been maintaining the account for past few months.

My question is, does he have to show account balance for the past 3 months or 6 months?

    Appreciate your help in advance.

it doesn't matter. I gurantee you they won't even look at this accounts.

  7. Last year in cancun my fiance was riding in a taxi with a female friend and a female friend of her friend. ..the taxi got pulled over by the police and they found a small bag of cocaine in the back seat. ..everybody denied it was theirs so the police took the three girls and the taxi driver to the police station for questioning. ...they all denied it was theirs , including the taxi driver. ...so the police gave all four people a urine test and the girl that was a friend of a friend failed the test and the taxi driver and my fiance and her friend were clean of drugs..then the one who failed the drug test admitted it was hers and my fiance, her friend , and the taxi driver were told that they can leave , and no record of this exists , when she went for visa interview the lady said she must get cancun police report to begin approved or denied. ..she went to cancun police and they took fingerprints and ran her name and it showed no arrests ever and no record ever. ..does that explain it ?

It may not be in admin process , the consulate said not eligible until you produce police report , so I don't know if this is admin process

that explains the delay.....the US govt is dotting their I's and crossing their T's to make sure your fiance or her friends are not involved in anything bigger than a small bag of coke. At times the embassy's reach into our lives is astounding.

  8. I know exactly what you mean mines was sent out the next day and I was absolutely speechless.[/

Did you guys get a text when they sent your case to nvc?

Did you recieve a text for your noa2?

We never did even tho we should have, such makes me a bit unsure wether we will get that with the case being sent or not.

yes, and an email. some people don't get them. as long as you receive your hard copy that is what matters.
