Posted the same thing in the July thread but here it is again.
Had my interview today at the NYC field office and passed. I was in the building for less than 30 minutes total. Online already updated to being in line for the oath ceremony, so we’ll see when that is. Hopefully as soon as possible as I have a trip coming up.

Interview scheduled for Halloween October 31st, filed online July 25th. NYC field office, unfortunately no same day oaths there but I’ll take a fairly quick interview date.

Interview October 31 on Halloween 👻🎃
Looks like NYC doesn’t offer same day path ceremonies. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to schedule it after the interview, I assume that’s when people get their certificate of naturalization?

Seems like NYC is relatively fast after looking at timelines this year. Average seems to be somewhere between 5-8 months instead of 12+, which is pretty good. Hopefully that’ll get even better as the heat progresses.

Just say “Infopass appointment” as soon as it allows you. It will connect you to a real person without any issues, just be prepared for a wait if you don’t call right at opening.

What was the average time frame that people wait for the message that they are "scheduled for interview" to actually receiving the interview? My case status changed to "You are ready to be scheduled for interview" as of June 3rd 2020 but I still have received nothing in the mail....
Really depends on your local field office and how they operate right now.
mine has been ready for an interview for about 3 months as well in Albany and I haven’t heard anything else. We could hear something tomorrow, or in a year from now... -
Nothing here. Transferred to NBC early June, ready for interview since early July. I don’t expect to hear anything back for a long time to come, which is unfortunate as other people have been approved without an interview without ever having a K-1 AOS Interview either. It is what it is.

I also submitted my n400. I was scheduled for an interview for n400 and so both my cases had transferred to local office. This was NYC. Everything got cancelled because of covid. I moved after that while offices were still closed and so both my cases got transferred to Albany local office when I did the address change.
Ah gotcha, that’s a little more in depth than my case since it’s just a regular ROC interview.
Fingers crossed! -

I'm Albany as well, though I just got transferred there. My NOA date is in Sept 2018. Would be nice to see some kind of movement.
Wow, that’s a long time. I do hope we all see some movement soon.
When you say your case was transferred there, did you get an update saying it was transferred to your local office? Or is it just going from Vermont to the NBC? -

:((( I'm getting an attorney for this one.
Are you EAC*****1159? 😁 I think they have days when they make 1 decision all day long for all cases.
If you don’t mind me asking, attorney for what exactly?
And not quite. My case number is EAC199013****

My status just changed to 'ready for an interview ' at 10pm 🤦♀️ after an RFE and transfer from Vermont to NBC.
Anyone knows how long is the wait for an interview date and any experience with an I751 interview? We had the AOS one a few years ago.
If you’re actually in NYC, your wait is going to be pretty long I assume. I’m in NY as well, but the Albany field office is responsible for the area I live.
Best of luck to all of us, hopefully we get our interview appointments very soon.
-
Just an update here as well, as of today my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. I came on a K-1 and did not have an AOS interview, so I guess everything is going as expected even though I had initial hopes of an approval without an interview.
Let’s see how long we’ll have to wait for an interview appointment. -
According to their timeline, the I-751 was moved to the NBC May 20th, but shortly after they also filed for citizenship so that might have something to do with their quick movement.

That’s wild, but I assume that’s exactly what the case is. I’m sorry you guys have been waiting for so long, it’s really a strange process.
-
There have been a few of us Vermont filers who ended up being transferred to the NBC, including me. The actual letter says “To speed up processing times.” But we all know that’s not true.
For now all we can do is wait and hope for the best. -
So the letter finally arrived, my case was also sent to the NBC. Kind of frustrating since they still had the option to adjust it in Vermont, but it is what it is. Here’s to another 3-6 months of waiting.

Interesting, thank you for sharing. As soon as I get the letter, I’ll update everyone here.

Yes, I got 2 and my case was transferred to NBC, that's what the letter said.
When did you file? Did you have RFE?
Filed July 2018, no RFE (yet).
31 minutes ago, Nipperswife said:Yes ofcourse. Press option that u forgot and don’t know your case number. But what I did I asked to speak to secondary because the first one had me confused. I received my letter that it was transferred to nbc 4/20/20 but they were telling me it’s not at nbc that it was at vermont. They transferred me to secondary who told me the day after they transferred it back to vermont. N that it shows it updates in both centers
Thank you, I’ll give that a try and report back. Maybe I’ll wait to call until I get the letter though.

Call then they told me my case shows up in nbc and in Vermont .n that all updates shows both centers.. that it transferred 4/20/20 to nbc n then transferred back to vermont 4/21/20. Sounds like u got my issue too.
Do you remember how you got to speak to a person when calling in? I tried yesterday but totally forgot how to do it. I’ll give it a go.
-
Just wondering, did everyone here get two updates when your case was transferred? Yesterday I got an update saying my case is being transferred, today I got another update saying another office has jurisdiction. I wonder if it was transferred to my local office for an interview rather to the NBC or elsewhere.

Absolutely nothing... but I called last week n they said my case was transferred to nbc 4/20/20 and then transferred back to vermont 4/21/20 and that it shows both places which makes no sense... I submitted an inquiry today since it is showing up in two offices.
That sounds awful. I’m not liking this whole transfer thing, hopefully it works out for all of us very soon.

Sigh... I feel punished. Hang in there
It’s frustrating, absolutely. Especially since it could’ve been an approval instead of a transfer notice.
Have you heard anything at all recently? Your case seems to have been transferred a month and a half ago. -
Just got an update that my case is being transferred from Vermont to somewhere else. I was hoping for an approval notice since a lot of cases around mine have been approved recently, but I guess the wait goes on...

Oath is first week of December early in the morning. Not my favorite time or date and it’s a bit annoying I had to wait 5 weeks after my interview for the oath ceremony because I have international travel coming up not long after, but I should just be happy that the whole process took less than 6 months.
