Thanks for the update, please post when you know your rescheduled date.

So they lost the whole week because of the storm, guess I won't be getting my oath date anytime soon..... back to waiting 😟

Someone posted a video of the Oath ceremony in Irving office, looks like they are allowing only 20-25 persons at a time.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzFKxK8cfuQ

Oaths are held only on Mondays & Fridays at the Irving office. Does anyone if they conduct only one ceremony per day or more than one?

I was able to retrieve my new oath ceremony notice and it was rescheduled for March 19. Exactly one month after the original date.

I hope you get your date soon!

The USCIS Irving office was closed on 16, 17 & 18th. Not sure about 15th, but I think they might have opened late and closed quickly.

Anyway, the closures definitely effected the interview and oath schedules. Oaths are held only on Mondays & Fridays at the Irving office. I think they are trying to fit in the cancelled oaths & interviews first.

My IO said I should be getting the oath notice in 2 weeks after the interview. You are past that window, but I am sure that is because of the bad weather. Hang in there, you will most likely get your oath update this week. I am praying I get mine too this week 🤞

It was closed on February 19th too, I had my Oath scheduled for that day so it was cancelled and rescheduled. I guess they are pretty much a whole week behind now because of closures and it looks like they are squeezing in people who were cancelled. I just got notified that my oath was rescheduled but I don't know the date yet.

Hey is someone nice enough to tell me step by step how are interviews being conducted at the Irving Office?

I'm asking this for my mom. She is not a tech-savvy lady and a nervous lady. I want to make sure she is well prepared.

(By Step by step I mean the whole process from beginning to the end)

    thanks!

No need to be tech savvy! it's very simple

you show up 15 minutes before your interview time and wait in line to enter the building, once inside you need to remove your jacket, purse and shoes (she might want to wear socks) to go through a metal detector (kind of like at the airport security) then you walk to the counters they will instruct you where to line up. try to adhere to the social distancing rules. Once you reach the counter they will check your appointment letter and photo ID they will take your picture and verify your fingerprints once thats done they will instruct you to go to the second floor. Once you get there the person at the desk will ask you for your appointment letter, they will keep it and tell you to sit down and wait. Then the officer in charge of conducting your interview will come out and call your name, you follow them to their office and then they proceed to ask you the questions, my interview was a little different because I'm in the military but for a civilian should be shorter and faster. At the end they will ask you to verify your personal information in the Ipad that's in front of you, you confirm and sign with a stylus on the screen, they will explain her how to do it if she gets confused.  Finally they give you a piece of paper stating wether you passed the test and met the requirements or not. That's pretty much it...

    I hope I helped!

Anyone who filed N400 in Dallas and requested name change are awaiting oath ceremony?

Myself and wife attended interviews and they have approved. We are waiting for oath date.

My wife is waiting since 2 months. Is anyone in the same situation?

I applied December 09, 2019, had biometrics waived and had my interview in Irving on January 7th, I took my husbands last name so I did request a name change. Just got notified that my oath ceremony was scheduled for February 19 in the same Irving location.

Exact same (well, super similar) thing just happened to me (well, my spouse and step son).  Applied for ROC in March, May or so got the “we will use your old biometrics” mailing. Today we got a letter dated 2/15/19 stating the same thing that my son needs to get his finger prints on March 5th!

Well, I'm glad we weren't the only ones! I was kinda worried at first. Keep us posted on any news!!

  6. Hello, fellow March filers!

I wanted to share the recent happenings with my case, my daughter and I both applied for ROC and our case was received on March 29, 2018. On May 25, 2018, I received a letter stating that they were going to use the old biometrics so no biometrics appointed needed. I assumed that it meant both my daughter and me, but to my surprise, we received a biometrics appointment letter for my daughter yesterday. The appointment was scheduled for March 8th, but we are traveling out of the country a couple of days before the interview date, so I took a leap of faith and showed up to the USCIS office this morning and explained my situation, they asked me to come back after 2 pm. Long story short it worked out! My kid got her appointment a little over a week earlier.

Now, I can't help but wonder why it took so long for them to ask her for a biometrics appointment. (my crazy theory is that someone has looked at our case) my kid was very young when she got her first green card... all they did today was update her picture. I wonder if it is because they don't want to use the old picture for a 10-year green card because she was too young?

Anyone has seen or heard of anything like this??

  7. Hi everyone, I am a little worried here and want to know if this has happened to anyone else.

My 5 year old daughter and me entered the US with a K1-K2 visa. We filed our paperwork for AOS on February 16 and we both received our EAD/AP cards on April 20. Then on June 9 without any notification I received my Green Card in our mailbox. Of course it was a very pleasant surprise but it was a bittersweet one too because my daughter didn't get hers; we had always received all our NOAs and other documents at the same time. Of course I tried checking the status on the USCIS site but her case is still showing that the case was received on.....

I don't know what to think, is there any problem with her paperwork? did it get lost? I'm starting to get really nervous. If someone can offer some light I'll be very grateful!!

  8. Congratulations! We have almost the same file and NOA1 dates and are also adjusting from Colombia :D. I know there's no logic at all to this process, but it still makes me hopeful, even being stuck at the backlogged San Antonio office.

    Congratulation!

Our office was Dallas which is terribly backlogged too!! I've seen a few applications being approved without an interview so let's cross fingers you are one of them.

  9. Hi Tania, My fiance and I got our K1 approved on October 28, the only advice I can give you is... be patient, the blood work and X-rays will take about an hour. we had our medical with doctor Monica Caicedo, she was very nice and her staff is also nice and willing to help but the wait times are horrible, be prepared to spend 3 - 4 hours waiting. As for the interview the wait time was not very bad, it took us about 1.5 hours. My fiance attended the interview with me and they let him in with no problem. First step is at the front door, an employee will review your documents and set them in order, then you will be directed to a window where the documents are reviewed again and the medical envelope is opened, they ask you a few questions to verify information, then you will be directed to lines 2 - 6 to sit and wait, the wait there was about 45 minutes. You have to pay close attention since the sound system is not very good and the consuls have a hard time reading Spanish names (it's even funny), you can easily miss the call or not fully understand what window you are supposed to go. Finally at the interview window I was asked about 8 questions regarding how we had met, how many times we had seen each other and what was my fiance's profession... all basic and easy questions. Finally I was asked if my fiance spoke Spanish, as my answer was no then the consul asked me if I spoke English, I said yes so he talked to me in English for the rest of the interview... Including the part when he said our visas had been approved.

It's really easy, there's nothing to worry about when your relationship is sincere!! Good luck in your interview!!

  10. You are the sweetest!!! But that same day we received our packet in my inbox. Thank you anyways!! And now I have another question, the thing is my fiancé insisted on hiring an immigration attorney but the guy is not doing a good job so I'm starting to doubt what he says. The guy told me I need translations for all my documents for the interview... Is that true? If so can you tell me what service of official translators did you use? Thank you in advance.

  11. Im the colombian fiancee speaking..... so, the father finally gave in and signed the normal permission issued by migracion and we are going to the nothary on tuesday to sign the escritura publica (permanent permission for my child to leave). We dont want to continue with our process until we have that sacred paper in my hands hence we're eager for next week to come already.

Now, i have been reading stuff about the medical exams and seems like Dr. Dennis is the best one to go to, no?

And i have also found a thread that says they are on a delay to schedule the visa interviews at the embassy.... im not sure if they STILL are, but ive read people waiting since July, then Aug, so idk if we will have to wait for open slots. Does anyone have any idea? We are planning to schedule all the appointments this next week, i really hope we dont have to wait any more ugh.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Ojala puedan guiarme... gracias!

I'm glad to hear you finally got your a55hole ex to sign your kid's permission to leave the country, I went by the very same situation, fortunately I hired a good immigration attorney who finally got him to sign, following the attorney's advice we went straight for the permanent permission as you said (escritura pública). Even though you have the signed Escritura Pública, you need to be aware that he can change his mind at any point and revoke his permission (of course I hope it does not happen to any of us!) PLEASE note that every time you and your child want to leave the country you have to go to the same Notary where your permission was originally filed and ask for the validity certificate it's good for 30 days only so be careful it's not expired by the time you intend to leave. You only have to show up to the notary and Show the original document, they will process it right away and it's like 4.000 Colombian Pesos. it's good to prove the permission has not been revoked.

    Good luck!!!
